Trying out Skidoo Tundra 600 ACE LT (154") 2016 in 70-90 cm deep powder in Swedish Backcountry conditions. The Tundra isn't a Summit...but it's quite OK as long as it doesn't get to steep. Actually quite fun to drive also :)
I knew every single twist and turn on this ride before the actual driver even made the moves. Keep looking ahead , not at the skis, and the trail is before your eyes. Also I usually not ever speed up when entering a clearing or lake. Great video and nice sled. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely video :) This is the kind of snowmobiling i love to do. Just a shame Norway is so damn stuck up regarding free riding. At least Sweden is not too far away :) The 600 ACE is a pretty decent engine. Got myself a 49 Ranger last year, and it serves me quite well. The only thing I miss about my old 2-stroke is the smell :P Considering upgrading to a 900 ACE though, for a bit more power, since the 600 ACE struggles to breach 100km/h on flat terrain if there's too much snow.
That's a neat sled. I have a Ski Doo too, but it's an old Elan 250 single, I love how light and simple it is, it's a shame there's nothing new that is really comparable. I love that I can throw it in the back of my pickup without ramps or anything, we'll probably never get snowmobiles that light again. The Tundra basically fills the same role, but it's a Cadillac by comparison. Still, very nice sled.
Trevlig film.
I"m looking for a good sled for breaking trail in the "back woods" just like what you're doing in this video. I've had the Tundra recommended to me, but I'm wondering if a mountain sled would be better. I want one sled to break the trail and then I'll come back through with my big 2013 Bearcat 4 stroke Limited is over 700 LBS. The Tundra is coming in at the low 500 lbs... so that's a nice weight improvement, but I'm not a big guy and after the Bearcat, I really want something light. Any thoughts on what would be a great trail breaking machine?
I'd prefer the Tundra over a Summit if trail breaking is the purpose and the terrain isn't to steep. The Tundra floats in the snow leaving a low footprint behind, while a Mountain Sled leaves deep tracks in the snow behind I'd guess they will be more difficult for the Bearcat to use.
Just have them lock their arms and stabilize their torso. Counter steer to setup your turn lean. Steer with your weight throttle and brake at that point. Also you can improve your powder skills on hard pack by 1 skiing everywhere you can. Left or downhill was harder for me. Snowmaker by trade on a 550f skandic wt. Wish we had these.
Hi! Yes, It's a really nice sled! My box is this one: www.touring.se/skoterbutiken/forvaringsboxar/box-ski-doo-tundra-lt It should be avaliable in Scandinavia.
Totally disagree. The tundra 600 ace is awesome. Impressively quiet, excellent handling and traction. Pretty easy to ride, very reliable and SMOKE FREE ! It's also very easy on the gas. Love mine
