Me and the boys got an early load day last year (meaning there was no public out so we were not endangering anyone but ourselves). And that day we were training super g so I had 185 SG skis on. For our warm-up run we went to the top of Sibo (at squaw valley) and did a full tuck run from the top full strip in our race suits to gold coast and we reached 117 km/h according to strava. We all were tracking it and it was showing pretty much the same results for all of us. 72 mph for anyone wondering. Last year I was 13 years old during the run weighing in around 115 pounds for perspective on how much we had to tuck and why we did not go faster

Austria is really cool. The skiing culture there is huge.

Man, as a ski racer, that must’ve been unbelievably sketchy on those skis. The speed wobbles were probably insane. The super g skis I race on are really heavy and stable at high speeds, and even on those it’s mildly terrifying going that fast.

I've got a record speed of mine from multiple years back doing 142km/h on Salomon BBR 8.9 according to Ski Tracks. Could've maybe gone faster on the next slope, but I wasn't comfortable with the profile of that one and opted to one with longer build up of speed. Empty slope, did a test run after lifts opened and on 2nd try went for speed. I had 3 people help me to be a bit extra safe. One going all the way down to confirm that path was clear waiting at planned "braking point", 1 midway and 1 following me in case something happened. Skiing fast is fun when you've got the room, know the slope and conditions are good. Remember that going fast is easy, but stopping effectively requires a lot of strength and technique since you're pretty much in balanced static squat if you try to stop for any reason from top speed to still.

Ive hit 70 mph (113kmh) according to slopes in Mammoth Mountain CA at 13. To anyone who doesn't belive me it was on Facination in Mammoth Mountain, which is a black trail used for ski racing. I just straightlined it and I hit that speed. Slopes is about 3 mph too fast though so it was more like actually 65mph, but that is still above 100 kmh

Yesterday I did 120,7km/h on my All-Mountain Skis. Felt pretty stable. On these soft skies, even the 95km/h have to be sketchy on a crazy level. Just wobbling around all over the slope😂

Nice. I went to Saalbach a fair few years back and the conditions up top were great, but the bottom of that big motorway back in to the village that you skied at the end of the vid was just one giant slushfest by the end of the day. Imagine enormous watery moguls big enough to swallow a child....... We ended up sticking to the other side of the valley in the afternoons, as it didn't get so much sun on it.

I was in austria to snowboard for the first time over christmas weekend. The first day we went and part of the second day visibility was exactly like that at the peak.

How do you like the gilson skiis? I ride gilson snowboards. You every go to breck in colorado? You can easily EASILY hit 100km on peak 10 on fresh groomers mid winter so theres no freeze/thaw conditions... I think I've hit 70-75MPH

Just a question, i see a lot of people dont lower the safity bar on the ski lifts, whats up with that. Here in Norway everyone always lowers the bar, why dont you guys do it in north america.

i skied 100 km/h (102.7 or so) once on the speed measuring track in Davos-Klosters (Parsenn). It was my 3rd or 4th day of skiing after only snowboarding for ~10yrs. Was f**king scary, but i was faster than my brother - that's all that matters :-P That was with a Stöckli Laser GS, so a completely different ski than what you have here... in the Line SFB i have now i get scared to death around 70-75 km/h
