You can always try to pop on the French side, the Milky Way pass gives you 2 full days to enjoy a lot of 'rude'.

Of course the resort is open in January, you can also check the official website and forecast to see the snow conditions live

It usually is, but it's always better to check the closing date since it can be different every year :)
