With the most ski terrain of any single peak in the Northeast US Mt. Katahdin has over 40 skiable gullies and couloirs. We skied the original 1927 first descent route. The most remote peak in the Northeast is a real treat to visit and is harder than most Western mountains with 39 miles r/t and 5k+' vertical. Original music by WoodBelly and skis by Liberty. Great video, nice to see Andrew made his way into your video, he is a NH legend. I love your idea of skiing all the states high point, must have been one hell of an adventure. Take care

Thanks! Andrew is important and other legends like Ron Konowitz, John Egan and others will be in more videos. The story of skiing the high points is more complete if we include the locals who call the area home.

Very possible in many places, many spots people don't talk about as to not share it, but white ice/black ice is more a killer in steep terrain there, we don't see enough press on this issue but avy is covered heavily in local circles.

I shot with two camcorders, gopro, even some phone footage. DSLR auto focus has been poor and slow, not good for hostile conditions where seconds matter. The GoPro's auto iris performed the best in flat ugly light.

@@TreasuredHeights We just got the Z6 - impressed with its autofocus though usually pull focus manually. Though on a trip like this - I could see having things set to auto since things are so fluid. Looking forward to completing your series.
