No lip syncing here. Saw them live a few times and yeah, they sound great always live. One of the rare bands out there that actually sound better live than they do in the studio
When he said sing it Michigan, his voice sounded like when he was singing, same volume and everything so in guessing people are gonna say they recorded that as well, also when he said gonna find you his mouth hits the mic and the sound changes.
Its because the production company who worked with Skillet for these video's got a direct hook up to the Sound Board to get the voice guitars etc. crystal clear. When they went into the editing process and aligned the audio with the video it looks like they were a half or even a second off, it happens A Lot in live videos unfortunately.
I have seen them live one time and he really sings like this, but I couldn't believe he was playing the bass, no way!!! He was pretending while someone was playing at the backstage!
+Douglas Castro actually... this is what I have seen. when he doesn't want to play the base so he gets freedom to rock out, he gives his bass to someone else to play instead of him. then when he wants to play, he request his bass back to play. also when the drummer starts singing along side with Cooper, someone else get on the drums. they are amazing live and they did not use play back. they don't just sound like in their cds but they sound better than their recordings
I was there I was in the front row hehehe and acculy I was on vacation and funny story I ran into the band they were on tour at the time we talked for like 5 minutes and they had to go.
They do not lip sync I have seen them live multiple times watched dozens of concerts online they don't limp sync. Check out Comatose Comes Alive dvd if u don't believe me. But I think like Jimmy said for timing purposes they added album vocals and guitar
So you guys keep saying they lip sync its an ish kinda sorta thing. Skillet and a lot of other singers that have to emphasize big powerful choruses (i.e shinedown) use backing tracks to create a bigger more full sound at their live shows. They are still singing but there is some overlay.
drummer clearly miss sometimes crash hits even when we can here it, so yea I think it is playback most of the time. so I think 99% of this is just CD quality ;(
+Karol Świtała you have to be there live to see it for yourself. I can tell that his voice is kinda weak here.... but these concerts are old. I saw them in September and his voice was pretty strong. He played all of his song with real talent. his voice as he was speaking to the crowd was just as the one from his songs. now in 2015 his voice has gotten better.
Sure thing, but its only my personal opinion about drumming, couse I'm a drummer myself. I havent got that pleasure to attend their show myself so certainly you got much more to say about their live performance ;)
Wow, I must of been really slow or tired when I posted that because DTE is an outdoors venue. Looks like to me the Van Andel arena probably during Winter Jam that year....Thanks :)
I think John lip syncing and I could understand why... I just hope it was because of a cold and not for damage to his vocals. AND GOTTA LOVE JEN LEDGER she's so hot and as a drummer, I love what she's laying down, and how she smiles while doing it all! :D
rock de verdade amo skillet amo banda rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooocccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaa
i hate that they use backing tracks and instrument tracking synthesisers always! i love skillet but i wanna here them play the songs with out any harmony vocals or overdubed keyboard parts, etc.
+beautyofgrace10 well its a basic fact that they do. they openly acknowledge it. its not wrong its just I don't really care for it because they used to not do it as much and I think it feels more real and honest when they don't do it.
+olober syko because John and Ken Steorts came from different music styles and they decided create a band mixing each style on a skillet (metaphorically) :P sorry for my bad english
+Mateus Gambine hmmn not really. I would say that skillet is 95% and 5% playback. you gotta be there to notice it. they do play live believe it or not.
