Francesca T ME TOO!!!!! I didn't want to believe it would work but it did. My other revelation.....castor oil for my hair. Has thickened it back up (after having a baby).
I wish everybody on RU-vid would make routines like her she's genuine, explains every single product and shows every product with videos it helps visualize and it's super informative I feel like others just rush through it and don't actually use them routinely
Vivienne Fung another one that’s really cheap is Secret Keys rose edition essence!! I need to try but I’ve heard of them from Gothamista! She has a video on $20 and under budget skincare video~~
punjab19901 being an esthetician a bar of soap is the absolute worst thing you can put on your skin. it's strips the skin of natural oils, causing dehydration and or an over production of oil as well. It doesn't even properly penetrate into the skin to remove any dirt, dehbry or pollution that went into it throughout the day.
Tea tree oil made a difference for me. My skin is been so cleared ever since. I also have a spray bottle full of water and half of tea tree oil bottle in it, and i spray it every night. Like a mist, and i love it.
I'm so glad you mentioned the sun block. No other gurus mention it and it's soooo important for protecting your skin from aging and preventing any discoloration from getting darker. Thank you!
Desi this is a recommendation, i also have dry ass lips, it sucks! I've been using this nipple cream called lanolin for cracked nips from breastfeeding, weird I know lmao but it works so great. I lost it for a couple days and my lips have been so dry and burn! The brand is Lansinoh, it's in a purple tube. It's 100% natural and preservative free. I didn't know how much I loved it till I lost it, im seriously so happy I found it lol
Amber Ivey yes yes yes! I lost mine a few months ago and decided to just use chapstick I had laying around...the dry lips wouldn't go away. Now I never go without the lanolin and don't use anything else to moisturize my lips! 💋
ashandblake I was using my lush cosmetics chapstick but it didn't soothe my lips like the lanolin, i love it! I was going to buy another tube of it but I found it tonight 😄 i will use it forever now lol
I would love to see a video on acne and acne scarring. I absolutely hate where my skin is at now and I eat a balanced diet and use every product under the sun. Trust your opinion on products :) not to mention your skin is beautiful!
Also, thanks for narrowing down your faves at the end! I always get overwhelmed by recommendations in videos like this 😆 no way I'm getting the 179 dollar sk-II product, but your other top products I'm looking into :)
I was there too at one point! I got a chemical peel like three years ago, and it got a lot better. Lately I have been suffering from a couple break outs, and they left scaring, so I am going get another peel done at the end of Feb or early March (I am traveling to Tokyo at the beginning of February). I am going to "vlog" my experience to try to educate people on it. So be on the lookout :)
I love your personality. You come across as someone who doesn't put on a front. Too many RU-vidrs try too hard to be extra perky, but you just seem real - which makes it easier to pay attention to what you're saying!
Tea tree oil is incredible! I mix it with Calamine lotion to make a drying lotion. I also swear by the Aztec healing clay mask with apple cider vinegar. I swear, I have horrible breakouts and clears it up within two days!
you would change your mind if you saw them without lights, no professional camera and without skin smoothing effect, not saying that it's bad but this is not a real skin :)
I loved this video. It is comforting to know that you know what you are talking about. It can be scary to try new products on something as serious as your skin. I know I can really trust you. Love you, Desi!
Haley Perry okay she also said she doesn't use toner at all because it's just "for oil control". I have oily skin and toners have never helped with that. When you wash your face, the water and the cleanser make your skin either too alkaline or acidic, which makes it a breeding ground for bacteria. Bacteria causes breakouts. Therefore, toner aids in preventing breakouts. That doesn't mean that you won't ever breakout, toner just helps. It also adds back moisture lost from cleansing the face. I could go on and on about the benefits of toner! The three most important steps in skincare are Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize. But yeah I just wanted to give a little more info on it so people aren't misinformed! Oil control is at the bottom of my list for the uses of toner! :)
You would actually be better using an exfoliating lotion! They chemically exfoliate and help cut down on dead skin which keeps your pores clear! Toners are pretty obsolete now considering you don't necessarily want your pores all closed up when going in with your serum and moisturizer. They need open pores in order to get into the skin! There are certain ones for each skin type but finding a good one for your skin can be a life changer!
My holy grail skincare has been The Body Shop Tea Tree skincare line! I am a junior in college, almost 21, and my skin has never looked better compared to how it looked in high school! :)
Your skincare vids are my FAVORITE! I'm obsessed with skincare. I want to get my skin to the point where I feel like I don't have to wear foundation. Love you Desi!
I actually think that the Missha Time Revolution First Treatment essence is just as good as the SK-II one. They are great at balancing out the overall look of the skin! I like the Missha one just as much but its actually a fraction of the price. So for everyone that is always looking for a good quality skin care product, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg Missha should be the one!
I have combination skin with PIH left from my acne phase and I get the occasional breakout. The Missha FTE just balanced everything out. I was less oily the next day and my skin was pretty radiant! I didnt notice it doing much, until I stopped using it. My skin was a lot less radiant. Was so weird to me because when I was using it, I didnt think it did anything but it did! :)
I've always used those costco makeup wipes, for years, and i lowkey wish you wouldn't have mentioned them and how good they are because now they're always going to be sold out😂 #noshade 👀 lol i should go stock up
I swear by the firming Egg Cream Mask and their moisturizer. Helped my skin so much with healing blemish marks and texture. Definitely will be trying these products, you look amazing!
We appreciate you, Steven! We know you're killing it behind the camera. Haters always always always going to hate on successful people for some reason. #perifam 😘😘😘😘
Can you please talk to us more about the facials you girls get and the extraction process please!!! I want to know exactly what it is and the benefits of it and stuff!
You should try Kiehl's Avocado eye cream. It's super creamy, rich and doesn't cause milia. I even apply thin layer under high coverage concealers and they look much more flattering. Does wonders against dehydrated undereye area. Your skin looks amazing 💜 xoxo
if you have oily skin, you are supposed to use oils on your skin! Like the saying "oil and water don't mix", you can't use water based products to break down the oil on your skin, only oils break down oils !
Paris Azul watch Stephanie Nicole's videos on using face oils. Even people with oily skin have to use them. It takes a bit for your skin to realize they don't need to over produce! But once your face and neck are used to the product, it regulates and it improves so much.
I also thought the gravity mask was so gimmicky and never thought I would get it, but after I saw you rave about it on Snapchat I picked it up and it did wonders for me, I use it once a week and my skin has never looked this good. You never steer us wrong 😄❤
I am in esthetics school and I have bad texture on my cheeks/cheekbones and I got extractions done twice in the last month and it has helped tremendously with my skin!
I've been rocking your no foundation glowy look lately just based on what you've said on snap so I'm READDYYYYY for this tut 👀👀👀 looking like absolute perfection as always
I'm 56 and have never had Botox, any peels or anything injected in my face but I have finally found a product that has made the biggest difference in my skin and have been loving it! Now don't get grossed out but they have snail excrement in them so the eye cream and the moisturizing gel (of course this comes from Korea) are so creamy and hydrating and absorb quickly. They are also very affordable and I just did my skincare routing video so you can see what I'm talking about. Now does my skin look like Desi's? Nope but again, I'm 56 and think it looks pretty darn good!
Divaliciousbeauty123 giiiiirl i gotchu!!! the "Clearasil Acne + Marks Wash and Mask" is amazing! i got mine from Walmart, and i use it 3 times a week. oh my goodness i've seen such a big difference in the appearance of my scars. check it out!
Divaliciousbeauty123 i have the same problem but i recently got a new product that has helped A LOT. it's snail bee venom essence or something idk it's a korean skincare thing you can order online but I've been using it for like a week every night and my scars have already faded so much.
Filipa Carreira i think you're talking to me haha well there are different ones from almost all korean skincare brands but i got mine from the brand Benton it's just called snail bee high content essence i think. Apparently the one from the brand Cosrx is better but i couldn't find a way to ship thatto germany lol. basically any essence with like snail in it is good for fading and brightening i believe
Abeda 95 I have acne prone skin and I haven't had luck w Murad :(. They work for a bit but eventually stop. They seem hyped. Idk. :( I recommend trying Korean products (like the ones she mentioned or others)
M A Thanks for letting me know! I do use korean sheet masks, jelly masks and peel of pore masks and they work amazingly. SKII is too expensive, but I heard missha have a dupe.
I've been using Murad products for about a year now. I think you need to keep it simple with them, the clarifying mask if my favorite. I also use some Korean skincare but I mainly use Murad.
I have acne prone skin and used the murad acne starter kit. It pretty much broke me out bad at first bc one of the products have benzoyl peroxide and my skin hates that. But once I stopped using the benzoyl peroxide product in the kit which was the spot treatment, my skin cleared up and I have scars now to take care of 😒 I feel like murad is 50/50 at working
As an aesthetics educator, I love love love this video and well versed you are on all of the skincare items and the importance of each. Love this video!
Susan Arreola make sure u dilute the tea tree oil with water, it even says it on the bottle. works wonders for my acne. I have the same one as Desi and got it at Vitamin Shoppe.
So glad you did this video I have been breaking out lately and cant figure out why i cut down on wearing makeup even to work to see if that helped.. definitely going to look into these products and schedule a facial. Thx hun!
I love tea tree oil for breakouts! I used it as a spot treatment but I also used a tea tree ointment on my serious problems areas as a preventative measure. And I had the best skin of my life. I stopped awhile back and my skin has been really good ever since. I did the tea tree oil routine for I'd say about a year
Vanessa Caudillo I have combination skin so I think it's fine with oily skin! And honestly I knew I was supposed to mix with water at the time but I didn't, and I didn't notice any problems. But I didn't think about doing it the way desi does it, so if I have to start again in the future I would do that.
You should try out korean toners! They usually don't contain alchohol, so they are waaay better for the skin 💕 Really hydrating AND balancing! Feels amazing! 💜👌
I used Tee Tree Oil & at first it made them a little better by drying them out & then the storm came & my skin was the worst it's been in years. I think the secret to skincare is really paying attention to what your skin is telling you! I will definitely try some of these products.
I love skin care, sheet masks, etc. I just want you to know that your skin is looking amazing & flawless. Like a real natural, radiant glow. That is not just from superficial products, but a combo of really caring for your skin, consistently. Desi, you are rockin' it girl ;-) ★!
I know you'd like Desi's input but I have tried the The Sunday Riley Luna Oil and it does do amazing things because of the retinol but I have to say I feel there are other products you can combine for much cheaper and achieve the same results. You can incorporate a retinol serum/treatment, a Canadian brand called the ordinary is coming out with one and add a different beauty oil like rose hip seed oil, jojoba oil, or even argan oil into your routine in conjunction. If you have the money to splurge then the Sunday Riley should be a great option but there are budget friendly options out there that will give you the same results as long as you know what it is you're looking to address when it comes to your skin :)
I have normal to combo skin and have been a huge oil fan for a few years now. I was using the Khiels midnight recovery btl for a good period of time and loved the results, then tried Sunday Riley's Luna oil and now am hooked. My skin looks so plump and glowy in the morning, not to mention as soft as a baby's bottom. If you are curious to try either I would recommend getting a sample first before splurging to see if your skin will benefit from it.
I love this video! I've been watching your skin on snapchat and I love how you been doing your no foundation look and your skin looks so healthy! I appreciate that at the end you show a condensed these 4 products. Really helps when you are trying to weigh what is most important.
Desi, your skin is beautiful!! Absolutely love the glowy look you have going on. So happy and envious that you got your skin back to normal!! I've been trying for months and nothing seems to be working!! I have no idea what the cause is for my breakouts, which is so frustrating. It'll be good for a couple days and then it will go to hell again within a day. I will certainly try the Tea tree oil. Any other suggestions are welcomed 😊
I bought the same oil free eye make up remover from Neutrogena when I got my eyelash extensions and since then I still use it because it does work really well! I'm excited to try these products you suggested I think I'm going to share the neck cream with my mom as well - get it right get it right get it tight. I ALSO use the tea trea and it works good for me too!! I really want to see your facialist
I love this. Your skin is always flawless even with one tiny break out! I have acne and I admit not to washing my face a lot. I have a clarasonic? Would it be useful? I need to step up and treat my face because it's just not ok to have lmao. It's not terribly bad but I want healthy smooth glowing skin so bad! Gonna try the face wash and tarte moisturizer!
Meghan Kane I use the clarisonic and I love it but I've heard before of people breaking out from using it because they don't take off all of their makeup first so it's basically just massaging the makeup deeper into your skin. I make to sure to get all my makeup off first and I love using it!
Meghan Kane making sure I take off 100% of my makeup before going to bed has helped my skin SO much. I can't sleep without doing it now. I use coconut oil to get off my eye makeup which works so well and the Kirkland wipes Desi mentioned in this video!
Jasmine Cameron what are Sunday Riley oils? I love the clarisonic because it's not so much acne as it just is ruff and bumpy and I just wanna work on my skin and I wish I could snap my fingers and it be flawless 😂
Desi! I'm a huge fan. I cannot live without my tea tree oil. I have used other tea tree oils from different brands, but the one from The Body Shop works the best if you are still looking into tea tree oils. The opening of the product also lets you get just a drop for you to use right away on your blemishes! xo
I haven't been on snap for a few days and this majestic video dropped in my subscription like a brick. I wasn't prepared to be shook! Love the tarte h2o! I haven't put it down since it launched. lush enchanted eye cream has been a staple as well and thank you for getting me addicted to sheet masks
I have been OBSESSED with skincare lately so this was perfectly timing. I definitely always take your recommendations and they've all been AMAZING. Excited to try some of these products 😍
This is super helpful! I look forward to trying these out... I've been getting lots of breakouts/pigmentation as well, and can't seem to get rid of it completely. :/
love all your videos! could you do a video for "what's in my travel bag" or "what's in my purse" like beauty products you always take with you when you leave your house!? (: xoxo
If you're from the Bay Area, CA, you should check out Acneology Skincare. I had really bad acne and they helped my skin soooo much. They basically do the facials that Desi talks about with the extractions.
Hi Desi. I am using Charlottes Magic Eye cream and i have used many,, many brands in the past. And i must say it is amazing. I can now use much less concealer and it feels like my wrinkles are under control too! It really does all the things it promises, at least it does for me.
Your skin looks amazing, I've been looking to try different skin care so I'm definitely gonna look into some of the products you've mention. Thanks, you're amazing
Girl how do you get rid of those milia bumps under the eyes? 😭 I've had mine for awhile and it won't go away. Some of them go away but I have tiny annoying ones
Hey Desi. You should try baby oil to remove eye makeup. I have used baby oil (the green cap with aloe and vitamin e) all my life and my eye lashes are to the ceiling long. Using it with a cotton ball removes waterproof makeup so easily without ripping out eyelashes.
