Hi Friends! In today's tutorial I'll be showing you how to crochet the Skinny Picot Headband! Instructions include 8 sizes ranging from newborn to adult large! This cute, crochet headband is perfect for warmer weather and features an amazing texture and a tie closure. This is a new take on my most popular pattern, the Picot Headband! The original Picot Headband has a thicker band making it more suitable for cooler weather! Check the links below for the original Picot Headband!

Original Picot Headband Written Pattern - theturtletrunk...
Difficulty: Easy (best suited for an advanced beginner or higher)
Supplies Needed: (affiliate links)
- Medium (4) weight yarn - I used Lion Brand Yarn Color Theory ( shrsl.com/3okf9 )
- 5.50mm (I) crochet hook - I used my favorite crochet hooks Clover Amour ( amzn.to/3ABCCQL )
- Yarn Needle ( amzn.to/3wIGVbE )
- Scissors ( amzn.to/3pX1FIX )
GAUGE PATTERN: 6 STs x 6 Rows = 2” x 2”
Follow Rows 1-6, working 6 STs across for Row 1.
Adjust hook size up or down to meet gauge
EXTRA NOTES:
- Beginning chains do not count as stitches

I’m confused. I find a difference between your written pattern and your video. The pattern says: R3: Sc, PSC, Sc, but in your video you say: 2 Sc between each PSC stitch. Also, it would be helpful to say how many PSC’s for R3 in the video demo and show how R3 ends. Thank you for the pattern.

They both mean the same thing. The repeat is *SC, PSC, SC*, so you will "SC, PSC, SC, SC, PSC, SC, SC, PSC, SC... etc" The rows will start and end with 1 SC but in-between the PSC there will be 2 SC. Hope that makes sense!

I love this headband so much but cannot for the life of me get my bow to tie and look anything like yours. As someone else said I have piled it so much now it’s ugly…. What am I doing wrong?

Is there any way you could please do a skinny headband using sport weight yarn? ...or even using sock weight yarn. I enjoy using headbands just to keep hair out of my face rather than for warmth. I’d try making one on my own but most likely I’d be pulling my hair out trying to design it😂

Use your sport or sock weight yarn and the appropriate hook, then follow any of these headbands patterns. It should be significantly smaller. You can also not make the headbands as wide as the pattern by leaving out a row, or 2 rows, etc. Your headbands should be beautiful. ❤

How you begin this pattern is sooo interesting!!! ❤ I have a tendency to get bored on some patterns. I feel I am stepping out of beginner into intermediate in my crochet. Still working on my even looping and reading the crochet on the previous row. Once I accomplish that, I think this 63 old woman will have just started her journey😅🎉

You could but you'd want to work less stitches across and it will end up being a thicker band

So ironic- September in Canada, I was just thinking about how cute a crochet headband would be for fall, especially to make a bad hair day look cute... but without looking like we live in Antarctica lol! This looks absolutely delightful! 😊

Thank you for the new pattern. Do you think I can join this headband the same way you did the big version. I just finished mine but it doesn't tie well. I have tried so much that I just stretched it ugly. Thanks in advance if you answer

Hi! You definitely can do the same closure as the larger version but you will want to rip out the last few rows of the ends where it tappers.
