I didn't think he played too bad. Made some really great passes that his teammates just missed shots on. Could've easily had double digit assists. I'd like to see him take a few more shots though. Team is struggling to put the ball in the basket, be a leader and take over. Overall I'd give his opening night performance a C+. Can't wait til he proves the haters wrong and wins ROtY though.

Before last night: Patrick Beverley is A good defender. Very aggressive, good role player, I would love to have him on my team. Tired of the excuses for Lonzo. It was Simmons first NBA game too. It was Markkanen's first game too. Lonzo is an overhyped Ricky Rubio. He is not gonna be this great savior. He ain't that guy. Lonzo probably won't be a bust, he'll be decent at least but lets be real. Lonzo won summer league MVP purely due to hype, Kuzma should've went in front of him really. Real problem is Ingram though. A fragile guard that moves like Tim Duncan minus the footwork is probably not a good sign.

You put the a sword to the fire to improve its quality and strength for battle. For Lonzo, it's a good thing for him to be tested this early. It helps identify his weak spots and improve on them. I'm sure he will adjust and improve and it may take all or most of the season for him to do so. Best for him to become a standout prime contender based on his OWN merits not on the hot air from his old man's mouth.

Too many clowns looking at the stars but not the game stars don’t tell enough. If y’all knew about the game y’all would know this. He played fine the team played terrible he ran the offense set players up they couldn’t capitalize. Lonzo isn’t scoring 20-30 every night he’s there to at least average 14-10-7 rebounding and assisting is his strength literally the reason he was seen as a Jason Kidd

the problem with lonzo is that hes not even good on defence ... and he cant run an offence he barely even gets involved in the offense. Also his shot and the way he dribble is so fkn weird and not good at all .

Not sure if any of you guys saying he played garbage watched the game. He looked like an average NBA player out there but he made great passes to open teammates which his teammates passed out of and over dribbled/missed. It was one game, let the man live. Give him 10 games and then reassess.

Even curry took over 5 years to get to where he is tho. Honestly I think lonzo is hyped AF, and I really doubt he’ll be as great as curry, much less Jordan. He probably won’t even touch those guys shoes in terms of impact. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a pretty good player. I just think it’s dumb to expect much rn. Lots of players take years and years to mature and develop

Scoring he was terrible, but as a passing PG he was actually great. Yes he had 4 assist but if you watched the game there were multiple times where he hit the wide open man and they missed the shot. I'm not even a fan of Lonzo like that, but he definitely didn't play like garbage last night. Played some decent to good defense and moved the ball well.

sully..lol, true. If youre a laker fan these days we have to search for something to be hopeful about. I'm still more focused on Ingram, Lonzo's game is so unique that its hard to use just one game like that as an example, but Ingram is another story. Hes had over a year and still looks like garbage.

I agree with Skip 100% Brandon Ingram is not cut out for NBA basketball. He grew up 45 minutes from me and he is still the same weight he was in high school. Lonzo is more game ready than he is.

he is just another version of ricky rubio. pure passers dont fair well anymore if they cant score. current nba you have to be able to shoot well or at least drive to the hoop and finish strong as a pg...... if you cant teams just sag off you like they have done to rubio all these years and dont allow you to pass freely.... he doesnt really have a mid range jumper.... his shot is bad and awkward. simmons is much better

YES! I have been saying he is Ricky Rubio 2.0. He is a serviceable PG, but he is not a superstar. Even Mike Conley can take over a game offensively if you need him too and he has never made an all-star team. Conley averaged 25 ppg in the playoffs against the Spurs last year, there is nothing in Lonzo game that says he can do that. People compared him to Magic, but people forget Magic was putting up 20-23 ppg in his prime too. You need your PG to be able to take over offensively when nobody can score, and the Lakers were throwing up bricks last night and they couldn't look to him to stop the bleeding cause he wanted no part in taking over that game. It was one game sure, but watching him at UCLA and now I do not see a player that can run the offense and take it over offensively either by taking it to the hole or shooting the lights out. And we all know he is not taking it over defensively.
