Saw him in concert in Philadelphia few days ago. Was super impressed!! He plays his own material, and a number of his grandfather's tunes where he's able to truly harken back to the true feel and the message. He's very talented and a treat to see. Looking forward to seeing him again.
I met Skip years ago when he was a little boy, accompanying his mom, Cedella at a book 📖 festival; she was humble and he & his brother were well-behaved. Bless you Skip❗💕
growing up I was very shy until I heard his grandfather’s music for for the first time it brought me I lot of confidence in life love Skips song faith too it’s a miracle that your making music skip no matter what song you make or singing it will always be beautiful
One thing about me anytime I’m asked about time travel my immediate answer always is “I would want to go to the past and see Bob live, preferably his Harvard concert in 1979”
great interview I listen to skips songs while I’m cleaning the house everyday he’s song calm down is a gift skip you have a big and warm heart that’s way your so good at music it’s leading you to where you want to go many blessings to you and your family everyday
I've always loved Skipper! His humility is endearing to me. Continue using your gifts and talents to give honor to God and to bless the world! So proud of you Skipper! Love and blessings always! 🤗🙏🏼😘
Beautiful expressions, learned by Jah lessons! Purity of a strong sprout extending thy life force higher and higher. Reach ON bless ON young Tree bud! ONE DESTINY
OMG 😱 I wonder if skip knows his song faith will be on Barack Obamas new documentary great national parks how Beautiful 🤩 it’s going to be that song definitely matches African land with lions and zebras and everything god bless both of them every single day
Rita was awarded a doctor of letters from The University of the West Indies and the University of Forte Hare, South Africa. By now Skip maybe has found out
Allison this was a great interview; actually it may be my favorite interview I’ve seen of Skip. Great questions & great responses. I loved the depth around the topic of spirituality. I was left with a deep sense of inspiration vibrating through my body after watching , funny because that’s how I feel when watching any video of Bob Marley speaking or singing; & I do not believe coincidences lol Hopefully there will be more like this in the future on an even deeper level of elevation , I love the magic 💛✨
Cool dude. Made all the right moves using his mom's last name, Jamaican accent , etc to put himself in the right position. Not that he is not allowed to but if you go a little earlier in his career you can see all these changes and how they are now paying off.
What do you mean regarding his accent? Based on his accent, I was thinking he left Jamaica when he was a preteen. Usually if you leave a country at 5 or even older you lose the accent.
Have you been to Miami? Huge Jamaican population. It's easy to just hang out with your own. Same with my friends from southern California who are second gen Mexican but still have an accent.
Just because she likes him and is engaged by him and he’s obviously a very handsome and charming person doesn’t mean she’s flirting with him i.e. trying to strike up a romantic relationship… project much?
But yet they couldn't find someone to play Bob. They used Kingsley and he trash the character. This dude look like sounds like and would have done an amazing job. People knock me ok. Epresily move came out dude did an amazing job. Michael Jackson movie coming out soon. His nephew play the part reviews off the chart. I shit on that movie because the actor is crop and the role crop. The symbol of Jamaica and nothing but fake Jamaican accents. Shiiiiiiiiiitt What the blooodcloth

They literally don’t. My sister‘s husband actually grew up with them… they only recently got control of his catalog. After Bob’s death, they were poor for a long time while they were fighting the record companies/producers Island and Chris Blackwell

IF THEY REALLY WANT TO HONOR HIS FATHER, THEY WOULD HAVE USED ALL THE MILLIONS HE LEFT TO REBUILD JAMAICA AND GET THAT COUNTRY OUT OF POVERTY, JAMAICA STILL THE SAME POOREST COUNTRY AS WHEN BOB MARLEY WAS ALIVE, THAT WAS THE REASON HE WAS SO DEPRESSED, TO SEE HIS PEOPLE IN SUFFERING AND POVERTY. THIS IS A GENERATION THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH BOB MARLEY, EXCEPT EXPEND ALL THE FORTUNE HE LEFT. THAT IS A REALLY SAD SITUATION.
@@PurpleRegina this is so untrue. When is the last time you’ve been to Jamaica? Obviously you’re not a Jamaican. I don’t understand why so many people have so many opinions about a place and family that they don’t know.
I wouldnt say a fake accent. He is jamaican and has grew up around patois his whole life. I do agree that I think they intentionally speak in patois in interviews. Im pretty sure they speak america. english perfectly. His mom was born and raised in Jamaica and does not speak in her patois much at all.
You can't just put on a Jamaican accent. Jamaicans know. This is a genuine Jamaican accent. 1st 5 years he would have learned patois being back and forth he would have spoke patois back ah Yard and probably patois abroad. I'm sure his family make effort to uphold the roots.
First of all a Jamaican accent isn’t something that you can fake and he’s speaking patois, which is different than accented English, which a lot of Jamaican people speak even in Jamaica because they don’t think speaking is appropriate and professional context so you literally have no idea what you’re talking about and you’re obviously not Jamaican
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. That is one gorgeous man! He's wise beyond his years. Thank you so much for sharing! I'm embarrassed to say I'm not familiar with his music and I'm especially thankful for learning about new music. I can't wait to check it out!
Omg. I recently went to his concert and I got chills. I could hear his grandfather voice as he was singing to the point I was starting to freak out. I love the whole Marley family. The 1st reggae song I heard was Bob Marley One Love. I became obsessed with the Marleys. My 1stvreggae concert was to see the Marley Brothers. All of Bob Marley sons that sing was there. The best day of my life.
Awesome interview. Yes Ganja can save the pl but is the Jamaican Government going to let it happen. Peter Tosh song the song yrs ago legalize it! Did they! No! If Americans hadn’t legalized it Jamaicans wouldn’t! They are such a copy cat & what they should copy they don’t! Bob’s DNA really stands out in his kids & grandkids. My grandmother always say blood can’t hide. Blessings
He talked about it with Angie Martinez. He says you must spread the seed, like it says to do in the Old Testment of the Bible. Like what his GrandDad did.
This is my issue with Skip and most of his family and it's why I don't watch their interviews and concentrate on the music, which I love; most of them speak but actually say nothing except rhetoric, and everyone notices it as well because most people here and on interviews when I used to watch them, are going on about how much he looks like his grandfather, and about his family, without reacting to anything in the actual interview. This is a 37 minute video and nothing he said makes people wanna comment? That's crazy to me. They're so frustrating for me to listen to.
@@paulavance5096So you'd rather someone didn't watch the full thing before they complain that it didn't fulfill something they're frustrated with? If they'd said they didn't watch the full thing wouldn't the question then be 'how do u make a comment about being frustrated with the content without having watched all the content? What if he gave the answers u seek in another part of the video?' It's also interesting that u didn't refute them. The logic is literally that if u don't enjoy the beginning of something that has someone you actually wanna support don't hope it may get better. Just turn it off.
@paulavance5096 So when I follow his career and stream and actually go on Amazon and buy the EP, not just stream it, and I buy his merch and would go to a show the minute I'm in an area where he's playing, AND I introduce his music to my family, there's no issue, but when I critique him as a fan and I lay out that my critique is about interviews and not his artistry, which I love, then my watching and wanting more depth from an artist I've supported for years is an issue? I stand by what I said; this is a 37 minute interview and no one can tell me anything new or salient that was discussed. Even your response proves it bcoz even u couldn't tell me how this interview differs greatly from a random wiki bio
@@Xara_K1 I think it's because it's not about him, it's about him and his family continuing the legacy of Bob Marley....for the people and livity. The things they talk about in their songs is what their about..
