Absolutely insane skill! And the newer video of you skipping is incredible. I could watch an entire video of just skipping baits 😂 ASMR style. Despite my best efforts I cannot skip, yet here I am a year later trying to watch these again!
Great tutorial just got a couple things start by finding docks with more space between the lake when u are beginning than this guy lol he was super advanced lol I think a lighter jig 1/4, 3/8 may give easier skip as a beginning person as well
Big fan of Diawa reels for but for flippin and pitching I’ve fell in LOVE with the lews SP(skip and pitch ) ..light durable ..and made for both ..only holds 40 yards line ..caught a 5 on the finesse flipping jig this week ..ur great at skippin..my 2 fav ways to fish skippin and pitching
95% of skipping or any type of casting is putting in the time. 95% of your technique cuz it's your gear that you're using. I skip with a spin rod (no backlash, ever!) have been since 1981!
I can put a jig anywhere I want but it's easier with a reel that has magnetic brakes. I started learning on a reel with centrifugal brakes and it's way harder.
@@BassFishingHQ would be cool if you did a comparison. I could try myself but I can tell you’re a bit better at skipping than me. Thanks for the reply!
Typically my thumbs rests partly on the release lever and the top part of my thumb is on the spool. Keeping part of your thumb on the lever allows you to be very constant with how much tension you put on the spool with your thumb
