I just recently decided to switch over 100% to Zman...I searched for their frog videos and decided their finesse frog was for me. Your videos on these have totally sold it for me. I got some coming and my frog rod is now empty and ready. I'm not that great on top water...i dont have the patience for most of it, and I suck at pausing for the feel of the weight on the strike...but I like how you work these like any other moving bait. I'm very fond of the swimbait, spinnerbait, chatterbait bite, lol. If I'm gonna like top water or be any good at it, this is the way I want to go. Thank you for the videos! I'm also a lefty so it was easy for me to see your casts in my head. I have spent eons in my canoe, some in my kayaks, and it's a different cast than standing on the bow of my bass boat. For smaller waters though, nothing beats a paddle craft!
I've been getting a few on these mate, it's great fun! Good point you made about the finesse factor. Too heavy a hook or leader will make it go sub-surface, particularly at the start of your retrieve. Gotta love Bass on surface :)
I wouldn't even use a leader to be honest. No one in the USA bass scene uses leader for topwater frogging. Just use a harder wearing braid like power pro in 6-8lb and you won't lose any fish.
