@@naho438Pretty sure Childe has a voice line for it too. He wants more practice with a bow because it’s the only weapon he’s not good at. You can see this in his normal attack string. Childe literally just yeets the arrow in his last attack animation. It shows Childe is not proficient with a bow yet.
If the Abyss is indeed connected to the Sea of Quanta in Honkai, then yes her design would make sense. I’d like to see the connection between both games

She looks the same as any honkai character, I’d argue that a lot of genshins female characters have more interesting deisgns than honkai characters, and are also way more interesting than skirks. She’s just generic waifu #188392. She’s just pure fanservice, nothing remotely interesting or unique about her

Aaand it makes perfect sense because the characters that are super important to the lore all have Honkai-esque designs, look at the unknown god for example
As the person above said it does make sense since both the unknown god and Skirk look like they are from honkai there are two very likely scenarios. 1. They are both not of teyvat thereby making a lot of sense that they don't look like they are. 2. People from the abyss/celestia don't look the same as those from normal places which also makes a lot of sense.
I am of the personal opinion that Skirk is an unregistered descender since the all-devouring narwhal is from beyond the stars, as well as her master Sarutogi.
her design makes me think that the abyss is a gateway to another universe, probably the honkai universe, and that's why her desing looks a lot like a honkai impact design i know this is probably wrong, but i wanna dream about it :(
As a chara designer : it’s not because it is justified that it become a good design. A design needs to 1) have a justification practical or story wise 2) be memorable unless number one contradicts it (but it’s exception) 3) make sense when you describe their characterization in few words
Not a character designer,but freelance artist with too many ocs This is true,from ayaka's outfit being armor to bennett having light travel equipment every genshin character makes sense design wise.skirk on the other hand looks like sexy anime woman At least she has the fins that could reference her connection to the whale,but besides that I dont see how practical her design could be

Childe is not a "Dual-wielder" his goal is to master all weapons, and that he does on his own. He mastered almost every weapon and as he says in his VO he is least adept with a bow and with us he uses it to master it. If Skirk were to teach him to use a bow he wouldn't throw that arrow in his normal attack(the strongest hit of the entire attack).
I think she would have done better with a longer dress. I like her vibe and, at least for me, her design does tell me she's from the Abyss, but the body-piece just ain't it
True, genshin impact has its own different identity and vibe. They make cultural dress for characters while Honkai is more focused on badass looking dress for characters.
Unfortunately, it is already explicitly confirmed to be related. Genshin exists as a different kind of game in a different kind of setting, but part of the story has always been the encroaching of the alien on this more grounded, fantasy-like world. Case-in-point, the Traveler is one such alien.
Regardless, hoyo actually already confirmed that the two, along with two other hoyo games (and likely all of their other games) are all connected and related to each other. Honkai and Genshin DO take place in the same universe and are connected 😭
She looks like an amalgamation of every honkai character and her outfit doesn't seem to fit "living in the darkest corners of the universe" at all. Forgettable, unremarkable, one bad step away from a major wardrobe malfunction and zero story telling on her character and personality

Agree. Her outfit is just a lingerie. Hoyo when designed her : Let's cut Lumine's skirt, use Eula's head, lengthen her hair, and there we get Skirk. Hoyo has kinda successfully designed badass chicks in the past (I really love Dehya's and Beidou's design, they also show too much skin but still fitting). But here we are getting a fighter with night gown 😔

@@RandomLyneysimpA lot of girls outfits are impractical in this game. Eula's for instance. In fact, they all wear heels. It's a gacha game, putting too much thought into the practical aspect of a design is a futile pursuit imo
Skirk will always look like an odd one out character in Genshin(even with the existence of Alloy) and that's both a good (since she's probably not even from teyvat/diff era) and bad (it just feels so odd)
But she barely has any clothes and looks like a teenager. I was expecting a much more cooler looking middle aged woman or something but oh well, only npcs can fit that role.
The only connection they have is that they're both in the same multiverse, so Genshin does have honkai beasts because ''honkai'' is a law in the multiverse and every world struggles against it, but that's as far as it goes. That and the fact they have HI3 characters in the game, Kiana, her herrscher of the void persona is seen in the beginning of the game, who is asmoday. And Asmoday is potentially the second descender or one of phanes shades.
Skirk might also be a Bella expy! Bella (technically Benares) was seen as a human in the Honkai Impact 3rd Second Eruption Manga and they look similar enough 👍
I dont get the people complaining that it looks like a honkai character. I mean raiden and yae and a few more are. And yeah she looks more honkai, but thats probably the point. Theres more to Genshin (Impact) that we dont know. Why wasnt honkai star rail called Star rail impact? Genshin and Honkai may be impacts within the same universe while Star rail and zen lesszone zero exist on a multiversal level.
Has anyone ever saw that dude who predicted almost everything from 2 years ago? They were a bit accurate now that Furina and Neuvilette was released, and now they're saying that Hyperion will fall in Teyvat and we will meet March 7th in Genshin. In addition to that, they said that Alhaitham disappeared. I kinda wanna see if their prediction will be correct once again
If the abyss is connected to the sea of quanta, oooooh boy, it will be so funny when the characters realize the abyss, so far, would be destroyed by an emperor class honkai beast alone
Fun fact: Surtalogi Skirk's master, he is very similar to Dainsleif, they are both named after swords Surtalogi is the sword of the fire giant Surtr in Norse mythology . With this the fire giant set the world on fire at Ragnarök. Dainsleif belonged to king Högni who was a legendary king in Viking mythology. The Dainsleif sword was made by the dwarf Dain who was among the most famous and talented craftsmen in the cosmos. The word "Dainsleif" meant "Dain's legacy". (similar to how Childe transformation is called Foul's legacy)
I like how the Narwhal weekly boss' music sounds just like Star Rail and how the Astral Express has a narwhal ceiling light. I hope somehow in the future we see their paths cross in Genshin

My theory is really out there but her design reminds me of the Unknown God and I thought maybe both of them could be the aspects of the primordial one mentioned in the Enkanomiya book.
If you wanna know unknown god’s body is actually the same as hersher of the void in hi3 Idk if it’s connected but the body assets is definitely the same.You can look at the hair and compare how it’s 95% similar or straight up the same asset which is fine imo.Why make new assets when you can use an existing one
i think the archer is based on the archer called Arash that shot an arrow from the peaks of mt damavand. Mt damavand in is the hidden in the huge sand storm in in the desert
I think the general consensus was "that doesn't look like a genshin design... there's probably a reason for that" because genshin has a unified aesthetic that skirk very notably doesn't fall into. She doesn't look like a failed attempt to make a genshin design, she looks like a successful honkai design got teleported into teyvat, and thats probably on purpose
i personally just don't like her design due to her just how good and unique her concept design was and when ever i see her now i only think how they robbed us
@@kellbear23 it's all pastel purples and blues that contrast the harsh black and too yellowy gold color, along with really dark red eyes that also don't mix with the cool toned pastel colors. So when I look at her, it feel like my eyes are straining to understand what I'm seeing. Compared to other characters, the eyes either match other colors or are a lighter color than the rest of the clothes so that they don't over power the design. With Skirk, her entire dress is purple and blue which are cold colors, but then she had random splotches of yellow and red which are warm colors... it just isn't very aesthetically pleasing to look at

Fun fact: In the new HI3 story we get to know that the abyss is comparable to the interstellar imaginary energy tidal zones from HSR and that not even people powered by the Sea (of quanta) can pass through the imaginary energy zones

Darkness corner of the universe is called dark realm which different realm of teyvat which got 3 realms light,abyss and human. Furthermore, time moves slower in dark realm so that's completely different with abyss realm. She also said about neuvillete being able to beat the whale without power from the outside world so dark not equal to abyss realm. And that whale is her master pet hinting her master is also otherwoldly being and perhaps is the 2nd Descender

There needs to be new weapons types. Even 1 brand new weapon type would be greatly appreciated & a heavy improvement. Shoot I'd love to at least have someone that isn't using a catalyst as if they're a gauntlet/fist weapon user. A claw fighter would be amazing to see, but man would they have some swift & speedy moves for attack.

Hold on, a wait a minute... Childe states that he fell into AN abyss, not THE Abyss. Idk why people keep thinking that its The Abyss. He never had any relation with the Abyss in the story unlike Diluc or Kaeya for example.
No, no he falls into The Abyss, as a place, what Diluc and Kaeya are related is to the Abyss Order, that is just a faction of The Abyss, that is more related to Khaenri'ah than anything else.
@@aliounethiaw1443 Saying "an abyss" could mean that there are openings of "the abyss" everywhere that come and go. Remember we don't know everything about the abyss. It's still a big mystery. Think of it as the ocean. There's one ocean in its entirety, but we have many ocean names for regions.
Abyss and Abyss order ARE NOT THE SAME. Childe has relations to abyss, Diluc has relations to Abyss Order. ABYSS is a place, ABYSS ORDER is a group. Childe has Foul Legacy, which is very similar to abyss heralds and are from the teachings of the abyss so yes, he has relations to abyss, Diluc does not.
I think it's a safe bet to say Genshin is in the same universe as HI 3rd and Star Rail. Skirk's ability strongly resembles the element of Quantum which makes me think Aether and Lumine might be Imaginary, as both the characters and the element are light themed.
