For the Max Verstappens in the comments, the 1.5 is plenty enough and is geared towards urban driving. I regularly drive different cars for work ranging from 300bhp to 80bhp, of various sizes, they all work. This is an SUV, not a race car, they offer a range of engines for a reason... to suit every driver, not everyone wants or needs 200+ bhp. If you're towing or do 15,000+ miles a year get a diesel, if you're doing lots of motorways but not long distance, get the 2.0 tsi, if you are doing urban driving of less than 12k a year, get a 1.5. Its the best way to save cash. Ive had my 245bhp octavia but as my family grew and my commute got shorter, I just wanted what this is, a perfectly quick enough, sub 10s 0-60, efficient, comfy family car. The latest kodiaq comes with a 1.5mhev engine which still has 150bhp but a larger electric motor for when you put your foot down if anyone is looking at new. On the other hand, none of your passengers are going to thank you for doing 0-60 in less than 9 seconds.
I live in Switzerland, where the national speed limit is 120 km/h on the highway and 80 on the b road.. Could you pls specify, how is this engine "not strong enough"?
@@kagolko The power output of an engine and the power-to-weight ratio of a car has nothing to do with speed limits. It's about acceleration/overtaking capability. Do you want to crawl all the time or would you like to be able to sprint (hard) when necessary/you feel like it? To you there is no difference if you could get up to 120 km/h in 7s or in 15s? But thanks for bragging about living in Switzerland.
@@claub2621 chill, 15 secs to 120 for me is perfectly fine to be honest (even though 1,5 tsi version does it faster..).. I currently have Mitsu Outlander which has 160 bhp and ist some 300-400kg heavier than Kodiaq - and that's plenty enough for me and my family.. so that's that.. second, you shouldn't project your insecurities on others, I am not responsible for your traumas in any way...
@@kagolko wow...wise words. We got a shrink in here. So in your thinking anyone who drives/wants a fast car has some obscure unresolved childhood psihological issues? You make me smile. Alright, i'll leave you with your slow car and go deal with my traumas. ("Traumas"...nothing more, nothing less. lol...jesus)
