Good car, it is sad that Indian car market is stuck on a monopoly lead by Maruti and Hyundai. There are so many potential cars that could have got released in India, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi lancer, the new Chevrolet Cruze. Now the international automobile industry is at crossroads, and soon EVs may take the market (might get better performance vehicles then). You are right when you say we might be the last generation to see these kind of cars.
Awesome video... Well the reality you mentioned in the last part is indeed a problem with our market. Be it Fiesta 1.6S, Abarth punto, Mitsubishi Lancer,etc these cars haven't really ever set the sales chart on fire. I being a student is haunted when I think of the time when I'll be eligible of buying a proper fun to drive car,cause by that time they'll be extinct. And even if IC cars survive, i'm pretty sure Octavia Rs wouldn't.
With great power comes great responsibility, your power is your fan following. Uphold the true spirit of driving and guide youngsters what to really appreciate in our cars & bikes rather than just design & brands. PD is not just a review channel, for me it's a revolution- a revolution of awareness. And this revolution is absolutely necessary, because we are buying over hyped compromises. 3 years back Skoda closed down their showrooms in guwahati. There must be lot of reasons but the point is the Indian consumer needs to look beyond mileage & maruti. Companies will offer good products only if we appreciate & buy them. Yes yes yes. Finally....only Powerdrift...could do justice to this engineering marvel. While many reviews on other channels just spit numbers into your face. You guys have upped the ante by showcasing the sheer thrill of driving. I have always loved the vRS experience right from the 1st gen to even the Octavia Combi (which is an epic sleeper)
This is the best car review.. I have come across. In an Indian channel. There so much of soul to the video . The sentences used ,the camera angles,the exhaust sound , location of the shooting., excellent camera crew .. with a host like you .. all put together. Spectacular!!
Only your video has justified The car, that is, the Octavia RS. The final words literally gave me goosebumps, the RS is going to be the last of its breed in India. And i will not rest until I save up for one. However, it's sad they have jacked up the price of the car by almost 2 lakhs since its launch. And to #TeamPD Keep Rocking guys. 🤘🏼
@@siangetz8808 They only have a certain number of cars built every year. 2018 batch has been sold out. 2019 batch will be on sale soon. Don't worry. They haven't discontinued it. Also, 2020 Octavia has been spotted testing. So a new RS is on the horizon.
@@rajivkrishnan4006 yep, the RS245... I have the same car but in the 2 litre diesel avatar. Resale isn't stellar but I hope I get some good bucks off it to shovel into my RS funds
I live in the United Kingdom and I’m sorry to say but your reviews are more informative and more entertaining than what we have over in the UK. I’m a great Lover of skodas and I wish more people could see that they are not a low value low quality brand anymore. After all, they are more or less the same inside as a Volkswagen or a seat so id you call skodas bad, then you might aswell call the rest of the Volkswagen Group bad. You’ve done a brilliant job siding with skoda, well done.

I've lost the count of watching this video over the 'sands of time' since it was uploaded and everytime it gives me the same goosebumps. I was confused as to should I go for a Skoda at this price point or should I get myself a German luxury, the ending the video clearly made my choice. A standing ovation to the offscreen team in putting the landscape, words, music, editing, arrangements, etc. together and a round of applause to our favourite anchor for a spendid show. Thank you ❤️
People think at this price u can get an entry level german luxury car. But when u compare them with this 1, they are way behind. Skoda offers much more in performance, features, premium feel.. It's not always the brand name, ppl should really think about this!

It's not the cars that are dying out imo. It's the enthusiast's passion. You made the same point With the Punto Abarth i guess. And we can see that within the two wheel community too. Honda not getting the 250rr, yamaha not giving USDs to r15v3.. And the list is really long. All because of the cost. Put your money where your mouth is, dear Indian motorheads.
This time I won't start by appreciating the obvious premium quality of videos that PD makes but I would rather praise the selection of words & script (I hate calling it that!) that was delivered in this video which can come only from a true petrol head!
