Whoever handled the editing in this one deserves a medal. Damn those transitions are as good as the car itself. Loved the banter when you guys spoke about the design of the car.
Just came here after watching another first drive by one of the seasoned reviewers of motoring India.. and i was all analytical, tabbing on the pros/cons etc. etc. etc. And then you see one done by team PD and man! the pure passion of holding a steering wheel and heart just races with the engine! honestly, nothing else matters. there is a reason why people come here, keep going guys!
All the time I was admiring the car, I was also admiring the camera angles and the editing, the editing is seamless I must say... Kudos to the entire team 👍
The only car one needs for India It's fast, its safe, its comfortable and most importantly it's a Skoda. And that 6.9seconds is Vrs territory by the way
stopped watching PD videos for specific topic/car , now it is more of a fun phase where i watch the videos to admire the music, transitions, cinematography, every time it is unique .. Keep it up guys .. it is a treat to watch, my favorite channel on YT
The octavia doesn’t have split headlamps so that they can introduce it in the facelift a few years later XD. Jokes aside, I love this car so much, I really really hope it does well
@@Ordinaryperson1986 cmmon man ...every car has gone through a price hike ...its 2021 now after a pandemic even petrol now costs above 100 rs ....i20 now costs near 14 lakhs on road ....hatchbacks are sold in the name of compact suvs for abour 15 lakhs ....so you expect a proper sedan with 2.0 l engine that too of german engineering to cost below 20 lks ?
I still fail to understand the average Indian's obsession with sunroof. In my city, I generally see kids sticking out their heads and waving at busy traffic in a densely polluted environment or the hot sun.😅
@@ahembrahmasmiiiiiii8856 yes, feeling of space. But id rather be happy if the manufacturer uses that money giving more useful features like ventilated seats, or even blind spot cameras.
Imagine going on a weekend getaway and having an open sunroof ( needn't stick your head out). The feeling is very different and cannot be expressed in words. For many like me who cannot afford a convertible, this is as close to the feeling one can get. Or in a city, starting your car in a hot summer and leaving the roof open for the first minute before you drive to let the heat escape? Having that option at this price point is maybe not too much to ask for? Its a different matter that one need to use their brains to figure when to stick your head out or open the sunroof!
I am looking forward to get the Octy, but whenever I have doubts that is it worth the 30 big ones over something as reliable as the Innova, I look at this video again and realise it's always been more about the drive, feel and experience that bonds the man and his machine. Hopefully, this would end up in my garage next year. Cheers!

Such a classy car, and really that mild off road thing really made my day. We don't need suv's which are just measly crossovers. Sedans are ❤️. Editing and music was awesome, powerdrift you rock!

Yes by having the octavia " you really dont need an suv.. " A well known fact which was apt with the solid first generation octavia, which was launched 20 years back... Now you have reinstated the logic for the new one as well.
Yup , true that .... did Ddun > chakrata > tehri >kedarnath > Delhi in '07 model . ITBP guys in Chakrata watched this guy reach some good off road heights and mountain tops ... diesel version though. Snaps look unreal in those locations.
Hello PD, I am from India, now moved to Canada. A big Powerdrift fan. And all of my friends here(Canada) are buying SUV's while I have decided to go for sedan. In-fact I have booked a Kia K5 GT line, it will be on road next week. Even I doubted if this was a right decision or not, that choosing a sedan over "BIG SUV". Whatever thankyou for straightening things up. Sedans Rules :D

There should be no excuse for the Ventilated seats! As far as sunroof is concerned, its just BS and makes no sense. Either a solid roof or a convertible. There is no inbetween!

A smart person who cares about his wallet wouldn't invest in a brand new car especially a skoda.... The d in skoda stands for depreciation. Just wait a while and you can buy one, second hand for half the price lol
Looks quite elegant. However, for the enthusiasts who can't afford the more expensive RS model, a sportier looking Onyx/Sportline variant will surely give them a reason to rejoice. Lets hope it gets introduced at a later date 🤞. Nonetheless, a great review! Superb narration and camera work 👍.

I've been waiting for this car for a long time. I'm a tad disappointed with the omission of a sunroof and ventilated seats. But eff it! I'm gonna book one tomorrow. I don't really like the so called SUVs (overgrown hatchbacks in most cases, really), and this has to be one of the best sedans under the 40L OTR mark.
If this launch is a part of the india 2.0 plan, then definitely the ventilated seat if not the sunroof is a huge miss. Especially considering the premium prices and that they went on and on about how they are going to cater to the Indian lot.
This review was not really the Powerdrift style or it wanted to do something different & failed....SUVs are a very desperate need depending on your location...Maharashtra has Super bad roads but if you are from Gujarat/Rajasthan you can really enjoy a car like Octavia...SUVs are a fad for sure but they are also necessary
On other channels, I watch only those car reviews which I have shortlisted. But here on PD, I just watch them ALL because of the absolute fun their videos are.
Powerdrift especially niranjans videos if am not wrong with name are always a treat to buy. I bought my superb 2013 after watching your video. And now i ll buy my octavia soon. Thanks to this video right here. Also as a side note kudos to skoda for not downsizing engines like all others rather going otherway round.

We want an SUV but we don't need it. Exactly what I have been saying in our daily family talks over a new car. I have been pushing to wait for Octavia but everyone else just wants an SUV. Compass 4*4 is the current choice which I have no issues with but Sedans have their own charm. And PowerDrift, bhai log this was a slick slick video. So very very well done🔥🔥🔥
I still dont get the people who buys 4x4 suv and take it (with similar group of people) to the offroad adventure camp in their metro cities on sunday mornings. And they laugh with the joy to see their car was finally able (with a lot of help) to get to some point where they can hike in 5min easily. And they retun in the evening happy and discuss how suvs are better than sedan with arguing can a sedan do it.
Someone is taking a good initiative to make people realise how far we have come with the so called SUV love...S-presso. Does it have even 1% capability of SUV apart from high seat?. I was feeling very sad seeing the reducing love for Sedan. Thanks Power Drift. Liked it a lott.
