Skoolie Gets RV Seats - Cabinet Paint Color - Kobuk Gets A Custom Kennel

Oh Atlas, the faithfull Class A I drove 50k plus miles, you are part of the skoolie now. The seat that will be installed in the bus is the seat I sat on all those miles! I weld in a new bracket and pick what paint colors will be in the bus. Then, Kobuk gets an MTV style crib.

If you decide to do the desk double-split, maybe on the section closest to the RV seat install a permanent ledge/shelf from the window -- just a few inches. Then have the rest of the table drop down at the end of the ledge. This should keep the desk half closest to the RV seat short enough to drop down while also providing a solid, permanent surface where you can store chargers, leave a glass, put pens/papers, docking station, etc. on so you don't always have to move all of your stuff when you want to drop the table.

Great idea for dog kennel. Dogs actually love having a place they can retreat to like a "den" in the wild. It's a safe place and provides good mental health for your pet including sleep time, travel mode, away from the vehicle.

Lol, NEVER been a cage person when it came to my dogs! Always makes me sad to see them in there, though I know Kobuk and other dogs have separation anxiety and have to be controlled! Anyway, things are looking good, and coming together more and more!! Great music again, including Jim's wonderful whistles!!!

I was that way also until I got a rescue lab. When I was going out she used her crate. But within a week I stopped using it when I was gone and she used it as her own little room. It was her very own spot and she seemed to really like napping in it. That experience really changed how I felt about responsible pet owners using crates.

Tip for the pup cage - If you are planning on putting a water bowl in with him....You can get a bird water dish. They screw on to the cage door and the dog will be less likely to knock the bowl over and spill it. Plus that way the water bowl doesn't take up floor space for the pup.

We have a crate in our Fifth wheel one in the house one in the office. Pup always wanders into the crate at night to go to bed. He loves his crates. Good progress Brother as usual.

Ha, I remember one video the word was, "Uppers". Sometimes when we learn a new term, we can't help from temporarily running with it. When you're engrossed in a project or being mentored, it's easy to display 'tunnel vision' type behaviors. I remember thinking, "It is okay to say 'upper cabinets' or 'white washing'.

Looks good man I can tell he has been in construction my dad is a contractor in TN I worked with hem for over 17 years before a car accident that broke my back I miss working with my Dad I am going full time after RV after the first of the year if I get my disability next month which I've been fighting for 5 years luckily because of my injury I'm not in a wheelchair and I still have my legs would have loved to been able to do a four-wheel-drive skooly just not able to anyways buddy keep your head up the bus looks awesome man

here is some thing that may help . when the bus is ready make a group of 10 or 20 RVs to drive around as 1 big group . it keep others around you and helps in making more videos of whats going on . i would drive around with you with my RV and help you make parts as needed and fix things

I love the built in dog bed. When I built my cargo trailer conversion I did a built in ferret cage my wife say it's the only trailer in the world with a built in ferret cage. Love you show can't wait for this chapter to get moving forward. Journey of the road preacher on Instagram

It's for the safety of Kobuk for him to be crated during travel. You do not want a dog running back and forth the length of the bus while Chris is driving down the road. Dogs also like places of security that they can crawl into when they feel anxious. Crating a pet when necessary is being a good pet owner 😃

Chris, when you put Kobuk in his kennel wait a little bit before you close the door. Close the door when he is completely at ease and relaxed. Makes a huge different.

The whistling is now at a bearable level. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love your videos and watch each one. Jim's whistles I'm sure are endearing and beloved by many but they give me the heebie jeebies. My dad always said never to trust a man who whistles too much. He said they were putting on airs. I've found this advice to be true in most cases.

it's an 8.3 cummins turbodiesel with a 6-speed transmission. it will have absolutely no problems. keep in mind that school busses have always been overbuilt for safety and reliability reasons. and, you are only considering the weight being added to the bus during the conversion. you are not even beginning to think about the weight that has been removed.

Maybe cut the base of the seat. From what I could see in the first 3 minutes, that would be much easier. And of course the second I start up the video again you start tearing into it.

I painted with the lightest grey I could find, and people looking at it think it's a powder blue ?!?! Note: Colors do seem to pick up a reflection off of other colors surrounding it.

Chris, I have a question about the pickling (SP?). I love the look of natural light colored wood but I find that no matter what I do it always turns yellow after a while. Does pickling eliminate that? What product will you apply on top of the pickling? Thanks

Nicole Bureau - oil based varnishes/poly will normally yellow with age. Use an acrylic poly ( water based) to stay crystal clear. Less odor too.

Use water based poly.. Less yellow tone...truth is it doesnt need cleared. And touch up down the road will be impossible. Thinned out latex paint using an extender will work the same as pickling if you mess w it some.

Do you think that upload was deleted because of an opinionated comment section ? Or maybe the uploads are not in the exact same order as when they were released ? If not too much trouble, do you recall the title of the video or any other details ? I've seen a bunch of questions about this topic, but no real answers or recorded video confirmation. Thanks. (Subscribed for about 6 months, and after some binge watching, I've viewed maybe 80% of all the uploads, but still not finding footage of Chris sharing intentions concerning G)

Captain Sam Wilson I too loved their travels together, some really fund videos to watch and I thought they made a good team. However, I also recalled there were complaints from some who didn't and felt that his videos lost something when G came along, so just saying. Not from me, but I do remember the whining from some quarters, so you can never please everyone. So, best to do what's right for you.

Kobuk likes to sleep in tight confined spaces, as do dogs in general. Plus he has space to turn around, which is all that's needed.

Dogs also like places of security that they can crawl into when they feel anxious. There is nothing cruel about crating a pet when necessary. They are used for training and for the comfort of the dog 😃

NoProGoPronto What you say is true but Kobuk is very well trained and is used to travelling. He spent a couple of years travelling in the RV and used to just sit on the sofa looking out of the window while it was in motion. Perhaps Chris will explain why he put a door on his bed because I thought Kobuk's separation anxiety was a thing of the past and he was over it. Could be because it'll be because he'll be travelling unaccompanied. In any case, Chris is a very good and responsible dog owner.
