Also with looking I get a good idea of what they are selling for and see the ups & downs of the sales . Glad you found one at a good price for yourself

Its only drawback is safety too tight, when I flipped it, a loud noise almost scared away the black bear from 100 feet away.

I own 6 Sks I have em just in case I need to pass em out for SHTF but no one wants to train with me. If SHTF does happen people think they just get the gun and they will perfect markman.

@@boxertomus that is nice that you have six , are they all Chinese or do you have Russian , Yugo’s ? Anyway , yes you need to practice . I have shot 123 grain and 124 grain and it makes a difference . For me shooting most weekends for videos on the military surplus rifles , this is the first time shooting them . I know what & how to shoot them ,but don’t know how much they have been used . I have found it interesting that most of my shots are to the left , so that has to be me , not every firearm . I know I need new glasses , after that then find out if I am still doing so and figure out why . So yes training is important

In SHTF you don't need a 30 round magazine. You should not be getting into fire fights in SHTF, or you won't be in SHTF for very long. 10 rounds is plenty for an SHTF rifle. The SKS is a very effective SHTF weapon. Good for self defense, great for hunting. You don't have the logistical support a soldier does, stop preparing for war like you're a soldier. You're not a soldier, SHTF is not war.

@@Carnyx_1 thank you for watching the video & commenting . I understand everything you said , yet you have to consider food , water , clothing , shelter , & what the situation is . In some previous videos I have mentioned that you /we do not have the logistical support / supply chain that a soldier has . You only have what you have & that is limited . Yes I would take my SKS over my bolt action rifles , yet it is still only 10 rounds , I would still prefer to have something with a higher capacity . I am not preparing for a war or think / pretend I am a soldier . If someone is shooting at you / me I want to be able to protect myself / family the best way possible & I understand my opinion or option is going to be different from someone else’s .

I agree with you, in shtf situation your mindset should be survival, not getting into shootouts. People that get latest tech are orienting themselves towards war, instead of avoidance of conflict. Weight carry is extremely important, there is a reason American soldiers in Vietnam and Iraq wars would ditch heavy armor even when they were battle oriented. Life is 99% carrying the gun, maybe 1% shooting so bulkiness of 30 round mags is not only obsolete for peace oriented person, but also makes a primary target. A well trained person with sks clips is not at a disadvantage from magazine fed wanabee soldiers.
@milsurprifleguy7091
@milsurprifleguy7091 9 дней назад
@@onceuponatime2021 I think a lot of people forget or don’t realize how much ammo weighs . Yes with using a mag you would not have to reload as fast as you would with the 10 round stripper clip . But mags weigh more than stripper clips . Mags protrude from the weapon , the enclosed system of the SKS does not , getting closer to the ground / lower profile . It is more than having a firearm & ammo . Can people make a basic camp & shelter , make a fire , provide clean drinking / cooking water . Ok , you can shoot , but do you know how to hunt , dress & cook the game you shot . Sound carry’s , light at night can be seen for quite a distance at night . We are people of routine , so eventually you make a path . All of that can be used at varying degrees for what may arise .

@milsurprifleguy7091 Usually 123 grain. I've shot various brands of steel , Tulammo and Herters , and some of that steel cased Hornady SST but have also used Federal Fusion 123 grain on deer. I've also got some Winchester 123 grain soft points. This rifle shoots everything pretty well, about a 3" group at 100 yards. Mine is an Arsenal 26 with a spike bayonet. It has a milled trigger guard, short lug threaded barrel and one piece gas tube.

Thank you for watching & your comment . Looking into things , it is very restrictive on what a person can legally own and the reason for owning it , which self defense is not a reason . And in 1996 the National Firearms Agreement took out over 600,000 firearms from the population .

I prefer the “paratrooper” model (16 inch bbl length) and you can utilize the loading from bottom technique if you prefer it over stripper clips or run out of them.

@@jeffreyarflin940 I do not have a “ paratrooper “ , & have never shot one , so besides a shorter barrel , what is the difference in weight ? Is there a difference in accuracy or recoil or do you think it makes a difference .
@jeffreyarflin940
@jeffreyarflin940 3 месяца назад
@@milsurprifleguy7091 I don’t think there’s an appreciable weight difference just shorter bbl which makes it handier in close I situations. The velocity loss from the 16” vs the standard 20” is nominal and I have never noticed any detriment to accuracy vs the 20” even at 200 meters.
