Now I am in no way an Ohio State fan, I'm a Penn State fan. But I do love to see different marching bands from other schools especially the drum line and have to say OSU's is awesome.
This is a DCI marching band. I keep posting that DCI needs to stop referring to the organization as that and change it to MBI, marching band International, currently the so-called DCI is a marching band organization, they need to call it, marching band International. Just call it what it really is. We no longer have, Real Drum and bugle Corps. May they all rest in peace. In my opinion, DCI is the reason for the demise of the drum and bugle Corps organization. They've turned it into a marching band competition superimposed on a three-ring circus. Form a member of the Long Island sunrises, drum and bugle Corps.
What is the difference? How did DCI turn it into a marching band competition? What do you mean by Drum Corps started to die once they started marching on football fields? I really am interested in learning more about the history and the heritage of DCI.
Well technically, it’s a college marching band and while they have cool drill, they do not compare to the quality of a DCI group. Those are high school beats at best
They call this "collegiate" style Marching band. In no way does it intend to achieve the degree of difficulty, precision and animated complex showmanship modern DCI drum corp has become.
They do have cool drill on the field though. Also, Jacksonville State U. would smoke these guys in a hot second. No hate on OSU btw, I love the marching arts
