Disagree because queer people have been silenced and marginalised for a really long time and hearing people's stories of being vocally themselves and not being afraid to say it normalises it for people who cannot 'come out' for fear of what would happen.

You're conflating "not coming out" with "hiding one's sexuality". Not coming out doesn't mean you hide who you're into, who you find attractive or who you're dating. Coming out is an announcement to straight people FOR straight people. It's all well and good to share your story about how you came to terms with your sexuality, or how you navigate yourself in the world, but coming out ultimately doesn't do much for us.
