Though the unidirectional bezel is a useful safety feature for actual diving, it can be cumbersome if you actually find uses for your rotating bezel in daily life. This video describes how to convert a Seiko SKX007 unidirectional bezel to a bidirectional bezel. It also features a quick breakdown on the differences between the older 7000 diver case and the modern 04N0 case of the SKX007.

A tip I learnt for tight bezels was to apply silicone grease (yes the same ones for gaskets) to the metal parts where the spring meets the bezel.

Excellent! I'm waiting for my dual time ceramic insert and new bezel and wanted to do this! I'll definitely try to do this trick to get the bidirectional bezel!

@aponinenaugcasio8456 below asked "can we make it 12 clicks?" So I relied to that as: The bezel has 120 dentents and clicks (clicks/stops every 1/2 sec), if you flatten or remove either spring finger you'll get 60 clicks, to get a click at every hour mark you could fill in every 10 of the dentents with solder/epoxy (with an open detent between), then you'd get a click at every hour. Some bezels may only have 60 dentents, so then fill in every 5!

Thanks for sharing I have a GMT with a Uni directional bezel now I can make it like it should be.

If you don't care about the clicks, another option is to just remove the click spring, or whatever clicking mechanism, and just put in a slightly thicker bezel gasket, to make the rotation a bit tighter.

hello sir, I like ur bezel conversation express. Sir I have question about on this, the middle of watch color, like choco leather strap>. what is the name of this strap? And where can I get?
@evelcustom9864
@evelcustom9864 2 года назад
That is a regular brown leather NATO strap I bought on either eBay or Cousins UK, then I beat it up by twisting, stretching, and scratching it. Then I sprayed some clear coat (clear gloss spray paint) on it to preserve it.

can i do this without a crystal press? will i be able to get it back on with my hands? sorry new to this stuff
@evelcustom9864
@evelcustom9864 2 года назад
You technically could, if you put enough of your weight on it, though it can be iffy. A decent press though can be around $40 so it may be worthwhile to just get one.

@@evelcustom9864 thanks I got just a cheap little pagani design gmt but it’s only unidirectional so I wanted to try nodding a little bit. But a crystal press is on the Christmas list for sure!
@evelcustom9864
@evelcustom9864 2 года назад
@@Eliisthegoat1234 keep in mind, the pagani likely has a very different bezel mechanism. The video shows only the Seiko set up. The Pagani may have the classic tension spring and click spring set up. If that is the case, you can make it by-directional by taking the click spring out, but then it will not click.
@Eliisthegoat1234
@Eliisthegoat1234 2 года назад
@@evelcustom9864 ohhh okay. Well it’s a good thing I commented on your post I was about ready to just tear it apart I will have to try and figure out what spring is on this bezel before I make any drastic decisions lol.
@evelcustom9864
@evelcustom9864 2 года назад
@@Eliisthegoat1234 it's not too bad really, and realistically you may be able to make it by directional with a similar principle to what I did in the video. The tension spring type bezels are quite common so there should be some videos on how to remove and reinstall those available here

Sir. Where did you purchase that SKX 007 BEZEL and INSERT?.
@evelcustom9864
@evelcustom9864 4 года назад
The bezel is the "Revenge One" from One Second Closer and the insert is from Yobokies.

Will doing this mod still keep the bezel insert in line with the indices?
@evelcustom9864
@evelcustom9864 4 года назад
I don't recall if there was any deviation, but I usually apply the bezel insert after I fit the bezel. That way I can be sure it lines up.
