at 14:02, WHY do you think that a wonky thrust angle is Wanted; on a CONTROLLED, electric powered, model.

You are a genius sir and I'm gonna throw my plane in the trash. I went to your channel and watched your latest video. I could tell right away how smart and accomplished you are, and the comments backed that up. If anyone doubts my high opinion of this dude, just watch this video of his, AND BE SURE TO READ THE COMMENTS! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xG3JPk-jhTE.html

@@chilly7261 He said it in a snarky way but I was wondering the same thing. Why trim for circles?
@chilly7261
@chilly7261 Год назад
@@ValerieBoyco Sure. Good question. Because I still want the flight pattern of a free flight model. And only occasionally interrupt where it's going to better catch a thermal or save it from a tree...

Nice to see technology from the past mated with modern one. I sure got the bug to build me a rubber-powered r/c glider now! Nice work!

Thank you. Get started, it's so rewarding to create with your hands!

This is fantastic. Great breakdown! Doing a RC conversion on the same model this week.

Pretty neat there Sam , I was the kid running into the hardware stores of the past buying them balsa band airplanes with the little red plastic landing gear. If I remember correctly the bigger models had sorta a GREEN livery “ writing “ and smaller ones had the RED . These are way more advanced however, I like the one you have here it’s pretty slick man !

I love this! I forgot the colors(livery, hehe), of the rubber band planes we had as kids. I remembered the planes for sure. Yes, my mom would send us to the store with a quarter I think to buy them. Great memories!

sam have been using magnetic actuators for years surly a modeler of your caliber knew about them for microlite flite super cool conversion 👍

Thanks. I never has them, but I heard of them. They were not proportional control tho, right?

@@chilly7261 correct basically just to maintain directional flite worked very well for micro planes there is another channel the gentleman takes balsa models and converts them to powered flite I had known idea the intricacies of just the rubber bands latex natural rubber on and on really cool stuff I'm learning alot super cool 👍✌

at 1:31, the distance between the horiz-stab and wing is excessive. it could be reduced by about one stab chord length. obviously, such a mod will change the dom. distribution of mass. vert-stab is now larger (and heavier) than necessary; for a controlled model.

Building this with your mods. Question....the 64th ply is epoxied to the wing support. What is mounting the brick to the ply? Thanks for the tips and quality video.

Awesome! Should be fun! I simply used 3M double sided tape...

information. at 2:35, what does 'neutral' elevator mean. there SHOULD be sufficient UP-trim in the elevator, for the model to have a Nominal glide slope/sink rate.! CF is HEAVY. ! CF pushrods on a small, light model are NOT recommended.
@OliveiraX
@OliveiraX 2 года назад
CF is heavy???? What are you using instead of CF 0.025" rod in your planes, that has comparable rigidity and less weight?
@daviddavids2884
@daviddavids2884 2 года назад
at 9:12, WHY are the control surfaces SO small.? the use of CF at the tail is the Opposite of smart.! cuz its HEAVY. at 10:45, those BENDS should NOT be there.! at 13:55, this is NOT a good idea, if there is, Already, positive aoa at the wing mount.!
