there was a reddit post which did something very interesting. They "fixed" 2008 by swapping the gear of the toa between them: Lewa(he had the wings and sniper of Kopaka), Tahu(had the sword and jetpacks of Lewa), Onua (had the arm rotors of Pohatu), Kopaka (had the shield and blaster of Onua), Pohatu (had Gali's light and nimble setup of just the one blaster and the feet mounted jets) and Gali (had Tahu's rotatating shield cuz that's all that was left). I think this is a pretty interesting change cuz it fits their characters a lot better like it makes more sense for Lewa to have wings and for Tahu to have a sword or for Onua to have big strong arms
"Skybird's arsenal" 😂 love it! Those could even have been sold separately (individually of course, but I mean separately from the toa cannister) as accessories / upgrades
I think Lewa could be good with, i have two ideas, either a booster-power very big axe, or maybe bar cleaver/metzaluna/bat'leth from star trek kinda design that could be held onto as it drags him around and that's his sole source of propulsion, axonn axes or two hewkii mahri spear pieces end to end, or, to continue on the trend of one axe to two air katana...he steals Zaktan's weapon. No, seriously, I have no idea how the Mata connect through escaping the piraka into phantoka, but they can retcon at this time, or whenever that was explained, that in all the fighting, Lewa managed to steal away with the one weapon he could find, Zaktan's three-bladed scissors, and now in the transformation, that transformed too. And now it can actually fold in and out. Don't know how that'd be done, though, it just sounds like a cool idea. Or, we homage the original axes, but go from one to two to four, and have him with small throwing hatchets. Hmm, matoro mahri blades, attacked onto mistika boosters by the hole on the opposite of the sleeve, stopped axle through the through hole, four of those and hang two by axlehole-90°pinhole, pin to inika shoulder armor on the legs, and have two more of those on the inika torso shoulders, so you can reposition the leg connectors to the back to have all the axes to be on his back at once and call that boost mode.
Ah, that big dumb sheath gauntlet chainsaw rocket booster fist looks so dumb in the best way. You've got the chainsaw, the claw and the boosters creating three different vectors of attack that kind of a little bit clash but that's great, it's cool, it's really videogamey, and, do you fly forward and punch, do you claw down but the chainsaw is there so instead of a saw motion it's more like a disc sander, do you swing it sideways, and i think that complexity makes it fun to figure out, and then once you have it becomes super cool. Like, jet powered bear hugs and karate chops i think but i did have to eventually intuit it. Yeah, it's the one super cool weapon that you absolutely know is never coming back and has a weirdly high skill floor in a video game, it's absolutely, from the Devil May Cry series, a Nevan, a Lucifer, a Cavaliere, in the best way. I see it only being one in a canister set but I think it's deserved to have two and be on a titan Onua. Also because it looks a bit heavy, so either the striking visual of Onua holding onto his big hand with his small hand to do big claw swipes, or in the case of a titan, something like what Tuma's got for his legs.
