We will install and setup a Ventair Skyfan DC 48inch 1200mm 3 Blade fan to work with Home Assistant. As the Tuya integrations don't work with this fan due to an issue with fan speed, we're going to use a custom made module that simply plugs in and will connect your fan via WIFI to Home Assistant with minimum effort required.

HI Jimmy Installed my new skyfan over the weekend, made up dongle & flashed with your esphome yaml, works really well with home assistant, wife happy to see fan comes on as room heats up. Cheers Mate

I just stumbled onto your channel and love how you go through things. How have you found the Skyfan DC after a year? Still higher than advertised power usage? Has there been any update to Tuya on HACS to allow all speed control in HA using the Tuya USB?

Hi Jimmy, do you know if it’s possible to get this to work with HomeKit by Apple? I’m considering ordering some but not sure about jumping to Google. Is it possible to adapt it?

Hi Jimmy If the rf remote that came with fan is used to change speed etc does the fan speed/direction also update in HA with your esphome module?

Hi mate. Would your pre-made module be useful for other skyfan models also? I'd be new to esphome (but familiar with HA) and happy to modify what I can but unsure what tools are required

Yes, it would work, I just haven’t got a fan with a light to test it on, the light version has colour temp and stepped levels of brightness, you might be able to dim the entire range if you use esphome, but you would need to work out the data points and what value they need.

No , it’s not unfortunately, it is a really nice fan but not controllable, my wife went to Beacon lighting and specifically asked for a fan that could not be controlled by home automation. To be fair I do have lots of experimental setup going on around the house.
