Karl played very good. Skyler a little unlucky but also poor shot selection on a couple those shots. But man Karl is deadly with a jump cue. Wow. Impressive. I need to practice more with a jump cue. Playing the best pool of my life. Getting out from anywhere but ofcourse theres always room for improvement. And in my case it's the jump cue.
What was the reason for the referee call a foul on Karl in the second frame at 11:58?. I've rewatched it several times and cranked the volume up full but it's hard to make out what the ref says due to his accent and background noise from the crowd. It sounds like he says 'you cannot use the ball to measure' but I may have that wrong as it's kinda hard to believe that a professional referee would accuse Karl of that when he was clearly just trying to position the cue ball in a narrow gap without making contact with the 2 or 3 ball. If I've heard it correct then the ref did the right thing by reversing his decision as it was/would've been a poor call.
In my opinion, both were correct. There's no way you can place the cue ball at that spot unless you measure the gap, which is why Karl did it at first. If the cue ball passes, then it is safe to place it behind the 2 (he wasnt trying to "exploit" the measured gap with cue ball). It was tough but referee has the right to call that
Ref looks a piss head, and is a total prick, he made them re lag 2 keep the crowd happy and talked about sportsmanship. Rules are rules fuck the crowd, u cant go changing them when you want. Must be the reason he doesent ref at this anymore and thank fuck
@@Snooker-cn3dm My previous post is from six months ago so I cannot remember for sure but looking at the shot here, I can only think that I put the wrong timestamp on and was not talking about this shot but another one during the match, although the video is almost an hour long so I will not be watching it all again to check lol.
Why did you cut the incident in the 2nd frame? Ref apologized to Karl, and Karl acted like a baby, not getting out of his seat and turning to the crowd and yelling "ref said it's a foul, so it's a foul, right?". Then the ref got on his knees, lowered his body to reach Karl's height (this is a tip given by all child psychologists) and apologized to him again and told him to take his shot.
I thought he immediately sat down after the foul call and behaved like a child when I read your comment. Just watched it. he sat down a minute after the ref already told him, he can continue playing and is just explaining his decision to the captains.... I don't even understand Boyes' point here... ridiculous...
@mavis rokata probably composing himself. Whenever there has been an outside distraction during a match I usually do the same as well. Sit down, have a drink of water, wipe down my cue ect. It helps regain your focus.
Ref looks a piss head, and he is a prick, he made them re lag because of the crowd, rules are rules fuck the crowd. Must be the reason he doesent ref the cup any more and thank fuck, done his best 2 put karl off from the start , yanks will do any thing 2 win
I'll bet on Skylar all day long against Karl even though he handed him his first loss of this Mosconi Cup. What a talent, he thrives in pressure-packed situations.
