Kurnell NSW has plenty of things to do and see including adventurous coastal walks & hikes, cave exploring, whale watching, fishing, scuba diving, lookout at Cape Solander, picnic areas & even a historic lighthouse.
This is a National Park and you will need to pay for parking otherwise you will be fined.
In 1770 James Cook and his crew landed on the shores of Silver Beach explore Indigenous Australian and first fleet history.
Cape Solander is supposedly Sydney's best whale watching spot in June/July for Humpbacks.
There is also numerous walks and hikes but please be careful and stay off the cliff edges.
Fishermen also built houses on the cliff edges in the depression some of the structures are still present.
Please be careful around the Skylight Cave do not climb inside the hole or stand on top as the sandstone is starting to erode.

It’s bit tricky to find the cave. By following this video I couldn’t find the cave. Here you have not explained it clearly. But thank you for you for the video. For those who read comments to find the cave, it’s just 5mins away from the car park. You don’t have to walk all the way to the light house.

@@moonstarfireshine 100% i only crawled in and come straight back out i see people sitting in the hole or on the edge this is not a good idea and i think one day it make collapse safety should always be the number 1 priority

Do you think the cave would be a good spot to watch the sunrise and could you actually get there in the dark before the sun comes up?

Hi Rebecca, you can definitely access the cave in the dark just need to be very careful and need a light/torch so you can see where you are walking, you don’t want to take a wrong step and fall or hurt yourself. You should be able to see the sunrise it may just be the the left of the cave so might not see the whole sun.

Hi 👋, if your a beginner I would recommend going with someone with experience who can help and guide you, there is a lot of variables to consider steep drop over rocks, sharp rocks, slippery surfaces, tight spaces etc hope that helps 🤙🏾

hi Nat, I’m not 100% sure if the council have fenced it off or not like wedding cake rock it is quiet a popular area so possibly they have, I haven’t been back to Kurnell since the second wave of covid so I am not sure.
