Sadly, that won't (exactly) work. Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! is the canon ending, iirc. :c It could always happen during the Aldmerian War (please?) and Shadowscales could be a faction against the Aldmeri? Maybe all your friends die, you end up the last Shadowscale and Veezara ends up being a descendants of Hero 6. That'd be sweet. Then again, Shadowscales PROBABLY still exsist even without the Dark Brotherhood, since they serve Argonian king, not JUST Sithis and his Bride.
I actually wanna know more about the Morag Tong than the DB personally... like for example... why were they still around during the events of the Nerevarine Prophecy, they didn't exactly "seem" like they were hurting or anything... they seemed pretty well in control and to be perfectly honest they were more prominent in Vvardenfell than even the Camonna Tong... which is another huge question... who the hell are they and where did they come from? I know I've claimed in the past that I know a decent amount of lore about this series (I know probably 98%... maybe 99% of you this is the first time you're ever seeing me comment) but this is one road that I've always wondered about was the Morag Tong and Camonna Tong, the Dark Brotherhood's lore is honestly explained pretty thoroughly throughout the series (albeit there were some things on this video that I didn't actually know), I just wanna know more about the warring assassination factions in Morrowind more, especially since the fact that the Dark Brotherhood, quite clearly, was already established during the events of the Nerevarine Prophecy... which I'm honestly surprised I don't know more about them since they're like my favorite faction from Morrowind and Morrowind is actually my favorite of the series... actually my favorite game EVER lol.
As far as i know, Morag Tong was banished from all provinces of the empire. They had difficulties running their business on Tamriel during that period. To be an active and well-known organization again, Morag Tong recognized the religion of Tribunal Temple (Almsivi) on Morrowind which consists of the teachings by Vivec, Almalexia and Sotha Sil, former mortals who were close to Indoril Nerevar, the Chimer hero. They used the legendary dwemer architect Kagnerac's tools to gain divine power and became living gods despite Nerevar's last wish. Story of Tribunal, Dwemer, Dagoth and Nerevar is a long one. Anyways, after Morag Tong recognized The Tribunal as true gods, they were allowed by Vivec to run their assasination business in Vvardenfell district of Morrowind. Their assasinations are considered legal by the law and they used writs which shows that the assassin of the guild is on an offical business, so guards and ordinators let them be. That's why they are still around during Nerevar's rebirth. One of the reasons that Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood became so hostile against eachother is that DB believes that Morag Tong commited blasphemy by accapting Tribunal as true gods. I mean, Morag Tong's main guild quarters are located at Vivec city which is the home of Tribunal god Vivec and the city has the most religious motives and buildings. They pactically seek protection from Tribunal. This is unaccaptable for DB. But i still prefer Morag Tong over DB due to my love for Dunmer(Chimer) lore. Origins of the guild is a mystery tho.
nowheremanofthehour Yeah I knew a little bit about that but that last part is what I wanna know more about their origins and honestly... like EVERYTHING about the Camonna Tong...
Nil Fox I don't have a reddit and won't get one and Matthew Patton I don't trust the elder scrolls wiki they're a lot like the Dragon Ball wiki and the fextralife wiki's for the Dark Souls series anyone can edit them and they don't really keep up with checking if the information is correct and a lot of the time have misinformed info I prefer uesp and personally... I just don't have the time to explore all of the avenues and actually "study" that info... I did that once that's how I know so much about Anu and Padomay and the inception of everything so much but I just don't have the time to do that stuff anymore now that I'm an actual adult lol but I also wasn't saying that I "need" to know it just would be helpful info since it seems there's a lot that doesn't really explain much about these two clans
SciPanda 'cause usually those videos give me more informatoin about ... anything Elder Scrolls related than I imaginded there is. Not this time Zoshira What is it, Dragons?
I love your skyrim lore. I would enjoy to hear more of the tiny intricacies of each fact, but you cover each topic in ways that are easy to follow and cover the topics for the most part. I enjoy these lore videos the most by you.
That doesn't stop more argonians from being born under said sign, the only reason they're considered "extinct" is because their facilities have been abandoned and they aren't trained anymore.
How? There are no teachers from experience that can teach argonian children in the specific way of the Shadowscale, all that would be created are cut throat children of a different kind and only labelled "Shadowscale". They wouldn't be the same. Unless there's a Shadowscale training book within those facilities.
Sigh...an argonian born under the Shadow = Shadowscale. It's not a complicated formula, because of this the Shadowscales could be revived at any point just like every other faction believed dead in ES (Blades, Knights of the Nine etc.).
Sithis was probabily made up by Mephala. The Aedra and the Daedra have never mentioned such an entity... The first person who speaks of Sithis is the Night Mother, who could easily be Mephala, since the Morag Tong stopped worshiping her, she had to bring the organization under her fold somehow...
I'd imagine It's hard to make a video on Sithis, as the Dark Brotherhood say, Sithis is the Void. We also know Sithis is the birthed soul of Padomay and so represents change and that the Deadric realms of oblivion exist within/extend the void. Finally that Sithis played a part in all creation, that of both Aedra and Deadra but that is about all we know.
Many people think that Sithis is affiliated with daedra. thats incorrect. He has same relations with both daedra and aedra. he doesn see them as allies. His relations with Lorkan are those of subordinate and master. Sithis is Padomay. he isnt good nor bad, he is simply himself, or rather itself. He is also manifestation of mortality as mortality and birth as they bring change. He is also manifestation of evolution (what he did to argonians). Above all he is void and unexisting afterlife.
I found out that if you summon that spectral assassin Astrid gives you, he talks to Shadowmere by saying something like, "Shadowmere. My old faithful friend." It was a nice addition.
He said that because he was because in Tes IV: Oblivion he was the rider of Shadowmere until he gives it to you as part of the rewards of a mission of the Dark Brotherhood. So he knows Shadowmere very well I guess
Took this from lore on Mephala. She is known by the names Webspinner, Spinner, and Spider. Her sphere is lies, sex, murder, secrets and plots, and she enjoys seducing and interfering in mortal affairs for her own amusement. Plots dude.
RavenRyy Boethiah is linked more to plots and conspiracies because Boethiah signifies unlawful overthrow of authority. Something like that can only happen through plots and conspiracies. This is also why Molag Bal hates Boethiah because Boethiah opposes domination.
Mephala on the other hand seems to into plots and the like for its own sake. I copied that text from the wiki, but I do recognise from Elder Scrolls fluff.
Ya know before I clicked on this I was thinking. Oh Skyrim SE came out so people are gonna make garbage videos on the game with stuff most already know. But I was surprised. Nice video dude.
Roshank Redemption Woah didn't expect a reply. Have you done a specific video of the Shadowscales themselves? And cheers for the reply. Not enough RU-vidrs do that nowadays. Definitely earned a sub.
it's funny to the name Anu, was also present in Diablo cosmology. anyway as usual you did a great job, with your help i begin to understand how complex is the universe of the Elder Scroll.
I like how he boldly claims that the shadowscales are extinct. We don't really know that for sure. If anything there might still be a few shadowscales in the Black Marsh protecting the Argonian King from any Dunmmer/Moragtong agents. Also the Moragtong is not extincted either because they show up in Solstiem. They(Dunmmer) Might want revenge for the invasion of their homeland by the Argonians which is funny because the Argonians were enslaved by the Dunmmer before the war for hundreds of years.
Tomato Mayo I'm sure Vezara who is a Shadowscale himself would know if there are any others out there. Even if there are others if they worked for the Argonian King I believe he would know. He likely still has ties and connections in Black Marsh as well. So if there are any other Shadowscales they likely have not yet been discovered or it's unknown they are Shadowscale
Well, from what I understand, there's a novel called The Infernal City(an actual book, not an ingame book), that apparently has events in it that may have resulted in the decline of the shadowscales. What those events are, I'm not entirely certain but from what I've gathered, the current leaders in Black Marsh no longer supported the Shadowscales and thus the training facility in Archon was shut down.
TheGamingGuy823 Eyy..... Mate...... Pray To Sithis Every Night Before Bed I Garenty He Will Assist After All Our Lord May Wish Destruction Upon His Unworthy Creations But Even He Wont Allow Such..... Such..... Sadness : D
You should also do a video on Lycanthropy. There's not just werewolves but werebears, weresharks, werevulture, werelions, were crocodiles and werebats.
A fun fact about the Dark Brotherhood is that Cicero wasn't always as insane as he is now, I believe the Night Mother gave him his laughter to help him cope
If the next game is going to have the shadowscales, that would be amazing. We don't know much about them and we need more information from it, we need a black marsh game next.
In Oblivion, close to the end of the Dark Brotherhood quest-line, the Dark Brotherhood to a ritual to go into the tomb of the Night Mother, which is under the Lucy Old Lady statue. Soooooo... the Lucy Old Lady IS the Night Mother.
Just sayin i think a cool quest would be once you become speaker, you actually go out and recruit people, kinda like how lucien lachance did for you in tes4
Guys do u know when in skyrim u finish the starting DB quest for the kid i think his name is Aventus when u confront him after qs he says "When i grow up i wanna be assasin like you it will help a lot of childrens" if he meet him in the next ES game as Assasin will be really great i know that bethesda is doin these things it would be awesome if they do something like this Silence my brother**
i have never heard of sithis creating lorkan but rather sithis unwittingly creating anu and padame and it was those two who created the other deadra and adra including lorkan (im pretty sure i spelled all these names wrong but that shouldn't matter as long as you understand what im saying)
Other way around. Anu and Padomay existed first. Sithis was the soul created by Padomay the Void to be its Soul and contemplate existence while Anuiel was Anu's soul. From them came the aedra and daedra. www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Padomay
Really good video!!, Did you know the alternative origin of the of the Night Mother in the in game novel Sacred Witness. Found in Elder scrolls 4. You should give it a look :D
Didnt i kill the night mother in a morag tong quest? its been a while but i remember something along those lines and the dark brotherhood being an extremist sect of the tong
sithis is very complex as he may be a force or just another powerfully god in the elderscrolls uni... either way he is very powerful and i hope he has an appearance in elderscrolls 6
If you are apart of the dark brotherhood and you die do you know what happens to you? you're thrown into a endless void where you will suffer and be tormented for eternity! I don't think people quite understand the gravity of joining the brotherhood.
I don't agree with the Sithis bit. I see him more as a cosmic force rather than an actual being. And it's also said that Sithis' interplay with Anui-El forms the Aurbis.
i remember this, when you play oblivion and you join he dark brotherhood, and get caught pickpocketing another member, I got kicked out and could only rejoin if I go to sleep and wake up and survive against sithis and he was powerful! so I glitched him out while I hit him with arrows
Dark Brotherhood is great but still prefer Morag Tong from Morrowind. You kill a person in the middle of a populated plaza and all hell breaks loose as everyone turns on you, then you whip out the "legal document" that allowed you the execution and officer just scratches his head and "everything seems to be in order, move along man". Licence to kill baby. Literaly
one question, i watch your stuff alot. but you keep giving us visual footage of the gods youre talking about. im talking about the screenshots where you see a small creature. is this from a TES game?
In truth, it is debated if Sithis is even a Sentient being. He created Lorkhan as an embodiment of change just as Anuiel created Auriel. The Dark Brotherhood is actually being decieved by a Daedric Prince, probably Mephala.
Seeing as how Mephala is the price of secrets and plots, this is a really cool and appropriate theory. Also, I agree that Sithis may not be a sentient being - it seems more likely that he is some sort of force or abstract entity, if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It is believed and often argued in teslore that Anu and Padomay gave birth to Anuiel and Sithis the same way single cell organisms reproduce and, in turn, Anuiel and Padomay did the same with Lorkhan and Auriel, except these last two had self awareness. This is why i am inclined to believe that it is infact Mephala the one who's commanding the Dark Brotherhood. Because Sithis is not even aware of what's going on inside Nirn.
