Hey Nate, I have a suggestion for the regular series. So a small detail that many a dragonborn have missed is that in the Thieves Guild questline, when heading into Snow Veil Sanctum to kill Karliah, plot twist, she saves your life from Mercer, you’re blatantly told that the dungeon is home to the previous guildmaster, Gallus’ final resting place, but you never actually see the body, and assume it’s just somewhere as you’re pulled out of the dungeon. Well, if curious enough, and you randomly decide to head back through the dungeon that you have no reason to ever go back to unless you missed the Model Ship, and head to the final chamber, and you can find Gallus’ skeleton. Despite knowing that it’s here, the likelihood that anyone would go back to see it is extremely low. Not much, but an amazing tiny detail most would have missed.
You can actually see the skeleton during the cutscene of you getting shot with Karliah's poison arrow and being stabbed by Mercer Frey, if my memory serves me correct. It's been a few years since I've done that particular quest line. I think that you should be able to see a skeleton when the cutscene triggers or something.
I think I remember seeing it years ago when I went back to Snow Veil Sanctum as I wanted to do a clean sweep of the place to see if there was anything I missed and I think I happened upon Gallus’ Skeleton in the final room and not thinking much of it.
Fun fact: if you equip whatever you made in the Aetherium Forge, you have a chance of encountering the guy who plagiarized Katria’s work. He tries to sic mercenaries on you, but by that point in the game, I imagine you can probably handle him.
Lord Shaxx of the Vlka Fenryka that’d be great but that’d be terrible. I hope instead of dlc for Skyrim they focus on ES6. I’m so ready for ES6 but I really hope they take their time and make it awesome.
*Plays skyrim music* This year... From the creators of skyrim, arrives a new plain of existance, Blackmarsh, Will the dragon born unmask the evil of which it holds... Or join the argonions in their mission to uncover the secrets of ' THE LOST BOOK OF THE LUSTY ARGONION MAID'
Dude. Thank you. Oh my goodness. The murdered to death thing absolutely drives me crazy. The videos he makes are great but THAT phrase makes me cringe.
@@Leaderofyou the whole “murdered to death” is actually quite accurate. In mandarin, the word murder implies that it was an attempt, not an actual killing, the “to death” part implies that it is a successful murder. “Murdered to death” isn’t as stupid as it sounds when you see it in another language.
@@idontthinktheysawthatcomin6792 hes speaking English, the commentor is English, you're speaking English. If I had to make a guess I'd say you the commentor and epicnate all live in America. So why are you saying "in a place whose primary language isn't English that phrase can work"
@@SpeedygonTJ I wasn’t implying that the phrase does or doesn’t work in English, I’m simply stating that it’s not as stupid as it sounds when you look at it in a language that isn’t English. Also, no I don’t live in Hell- my bad, America.
@@idontthinktheysawthatcomin6792 ill help you then saying "murdered to death" is the same as saying "killed to death" you saying "in a non English language this makes sense" means nothing this is an apple stand and you're here trying to sell oranges. Where do you live that isn't "hell"?
For no. 5, you can still trade with the vampire barters during the 'scene' when you deliver Serana to Harkon, before you decide to join the vampires or not
Just to say, when you have completed the Lost to the Ages quest, you will randomly encounter Katria's apprentice on your travels and if you are wielding an Aetherium item you crafted from the forge, he will stop you, ask where you got it and eventually become hostile, him and a few of his cronies. In turn, you will have doubly settled Katria and her legacy by finally getting rid of her Apprentice before he could take the credit for her work.
İt is mostly know but i want to say anyways. İf you take off the armor of Katria from her body when u find it. She will be pissed at you and say "Really?, you had to take the armor?. Leave me with a little dignity at least!."
Hey nate I’ve played Skyrim for a long time and I just recently figured out some hidden dialog. After rescuing Serana from the cave you can take her back to Fort Dawnguard instead of heading straight for her castle. She will have a unique interaction about the fort and you can talk to Isran. You can tell him all about Serana and get some unique interaction from him.
Durnehviir, the summonable undead dragon you unlock can also be called in blackreach too, he's a bit clunky down there cus he can't fly but he can and will happily murder any falmer or dwarf constructs that decide to use you for target practice. personally I like to find somewhere really really high and let him get some air whenever I'm bored. he's such a polite dragon, he almost always thanks you when you summon him, Ive taken to calling him Durnes.
Hey Nate, So I don't know if you've covered this, but if you take the road south of Dragonsbridge and head till you cross another bride there is a raided wagon(not the moth priests, a different one). This wagon has a merchant and a note or a journal(can't remember which) and the whole place is littered with Falmer arrows, indicating that the Falmer have been making raids on the surface. Just an interesting tid bit.
Hey Nate. not sure if it has been covered or mentioned before, but I only found this out recently and I've been playing for quite a few years. If you head over to Sovengarde and speak to the guy guarding the bridge, he will ask you "by what right can you enter?". The normal response is "by my birthright of dragon born". if however you have completed any other secondary quest such as the mages college, the dark brotherhood, or theives guild, it will come up with other unique options such as "by right of knowledge, I am the archmage" or "by right of death, I am the listener". It's quite a unique one that I was super excited about when I found it out.
If Katria is based on Ria then the Dwemer Forgemaster would be a slight (but noticable) nod to the Numidium. Aetherial Staff's power is pretty unique and familiar too
Not sure if you mentioned this one in a different video, but it's pretty easy to miss. If you try to talk to the random souls wandering the soul cairn, there's a chance one of them might say "Time is but a window. Death is but a door. I'll be back." which is a reference to Ghostbusters 2, in which those were the last words of the movies antagonist, Viggo the Terrible, when he was murdered to death centuries ago.
Jiub is also refferenced in Oblivion in random converastion between NPCs in towns, confirming his story he was made a saint after driving the cliff races from morrowind
Yo, another „tiny“ detail from the main game that I bet like 90% might have missed (I only did discover it in my 9th or so playthrough doing that quest) is that in the Whiterun quest to restore the tree, when going to Eldergleam Sanctuary with that pilgrim Maurice Jondrelle following you, after hitting the tree’s roots blocking the way with Nettlebane he will catch up to you and if asked he reveals another way to complete the quest, goes up to the tree and prays to it and the player will then receive an Eldergleam Sapling to deliver to Danica Pure Spring in Whiterun and shortly after a new, smaller Gildergreen tree will grow in Whiterun‘s Wind district. Maybe include dat in the next „Tiny Details“
Am I the only one who thinks Katria is inspired by Lara Croft? An adventurer searching for artefacts, with a bow, who dies from a fall? This would make sense, especially if the whole Lost to the Ages questline was added after the initial release
I found something that I don’t think you’ve ever mentioned in your videos. In the Pale Imperial camp, inside a chest in a tent, there is an amulet of Talos
Funfact, if you guys didnt know there is a unique restoration book i found when gaining the last word for the drain shout. At the bottom of skyrims map if you go right then up you see some stairs that lead to some potions and a draugur deathlord, but if you past that and to the right you'll see some stairs leading up to a tower with a few more enemies. At the top there is a restoration skill book with an entertaining tale. Glhf all!
Fun fact, if you have encountered Katria, then you can run into the guy that stole her work. At this point, depending on whether you have forged the aetherium you can get different interactions. I did not on my playthrough but could still call him out for stealing katrias work, which puts him into a panic. Very cool.
I was playing through the dawngaurd DLC and had just finished it, went back to the dawngaurd fort and realised that the moth priest will take the 3 dragon scrolls off you for 6000 gold. Literally never realised this, and used to just carry them around 🤣🤣🤣
I remember a tiny bit with Katria that might be interesting. When you find her body, she'll mention it and morn, but if you take the armour off her body, leaving her corpse in her underwear, she'll dishearteningly rebuke you for it, saying something like 'Really, did you have to humiliate me?' ..... Don't ask how I know that....
You can do the restoration potion glitch to make a strong enchanting potion then make a alchemy necklace with a extremely high alchemy boost then make a fortify illusion potion and it will allow you to calm enrage or scare almost anyone including some that can't normally be effected by the spells
If you have completed the companions questline and became a werewolf, when harkon offers you immortality you can say "but I'm a werewolf" upon which harkon replies with "I know I can smell it on you" which makes me think of the twilight saga when the vampires say the wolves smell
Well if you didn’t know you can take wooden plates and press it against the wall of the vampire castle on the right side of the entrance and run into it while holding it up you will pass through the wall and can buy the spells you normally could not get if you side with the dawn guard.
Hey Nate, check The Blue Palace, after you won the war for Ulfric, i just found something interesting down the stairs. I found it when i was doing "The book of love" helping Calcelmo, after the war against the Empire.
Arvak is (in my opinion) the best horse in the game. He’s not fast, nor does he have much health, but he can be summoned in the Soul Cairn, Blackreach, Dragonborn DLC island, and Skyrim proper, even if he was previously killed
I'm not sure if you covered this but if you are a vampire while joining the dawnguard they won't notice until you are tested for being a vampire and there is some interesting dialogue😂
Nate I am playing this morning and thought I'd give you a new detail you may have missed that I am really enjoying! Did you every find the Spider scroll forge in Solsteim? You can exchange albino spider pods and gems to create scrolls of spiders of all sorts (poison from emeralds, frost from sapphires, and fire from rubies). The quality of gems will create different effects from the spiders and from what I can gather, some stick around indefinitely until they die in battle! You can find this forge during one of Neloth's side quests to find the black books. Look out for White Ridge Barrow! Love your videos! Thank you!
@@notatruck2640 This game has been out just under a decade -- of course it is a common thing! But as a gamer who plays exclusively Nintendo, I haven't had the time to dive deep into this game until I got my copy on the Switch! And trust me, I'm loving every second of it! I have been keeping up on Nate's videos and hadn't seen this mentioned (until today) so I thought I'd help a brother out :D
Arvak is my favorite horse! He's perfect! He's available just about anywhere, and he technically can't die since he's already dead! On top of that, he doesn't get in your way during a fight.
Hey Nate, and idea for 10 tiny details; Gaius Maro who seems to have been obviously based on the Roman General Gaius Marius, who interestingly enough is said in the book the civil war by Appius to have once said, "Do you dare to kill Gaius Marius?" Which threw the soldier so much that he walked away. And in game we ironically kill Gaius Maro.
2:42 "expansive" there's literally almost fuck all to do other than the main quest. Arvaak, reaper, juib, merchant guy, main quest. 5 total things to do in the soul cairn. Merchant guy and jiub opus paged being unmarked. A shame too since the soul cairn looks so cool.
If you are referring to the cave system you enter from within the castle, you can activate the path's puzzle targets with any projectiles (arrows are more efficient).
@@squidwardwardsquid1349 the guy that sell tou sun spells sometimes said that there is a rumor that there is a secret room in the fort that can only be opened with those spells ... but nobody has found it yet
@@raulparrado1547 i remember: that arkay priest guy used to say something like that. Back in the day, when i was tired searchin for it by casting that spell on every fricking wall i was facing, i startet researching the Internet. In fact: arkay lied. There is no such hidden place...sorry.... -.-
The Soul Cairn is a part of Coldharbour. Here me out. It is known (or at least being rumored) that Molag Bal is the creator of soul gems. They're tons of soul shriven fellas in ESO Coldharbour, but where do you think their souls are? Of course in the Soul Cairn. Having that, and the interesting similarity between the Soul Cairn and Coldharbour (they are extremely look-alike in my opinion), gives me the idea that the ideal masters are not actually that powerful and basically serve Molag Bal. Think about it.
Lmao there was duping method for all bolts . I.e find the npc shooting at a tree ,pick pocket and replace the bolts and wait / the enchanted bolts dont explode... on the 360 not sure on next gen.
Best conjuration spell in the game. summoning Arvak. That horse helps you when your over incompetent picking up everything to sell. Fast traveling. And its a spell. And it helps that looks badass hell.
Recurring Surnames seems to be a trend in Elder scrolls now. Another example would be between Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online. Skyrim: You take a dark brotherhood contfact from a man named Amaund Motierre. ESO: One of the assasins in the Gold Coast Sanctuary is named "Mirabelle Motierre"
Oh boy! I can't wait to go to that castle and say hello to all the people and animals I sent there while leveling up my conjuring the way you taught me lol
Oh my god when I first went into the soul cairn and that guy told me about arvak I felt excited into finding him. I have walked around the entire soul cairn at least a dozen of times and couldn't find the skull. Then I walked through the middle checking every structure I could find. Still nothing. Took me about 4 hours until I gave up and searched the skyrim's wiki. Then I finally found the skull. It was in a strucure that kinda resembled a shrine. The worst part? I walked past it a lot of times and I was 100% sure I already visited it. But the best part? One of my most memorable experiences in this game. Ahh, if you only saw the look on my face when I finally found it! Oh, and I got a lot of souls and black soul gems. Probably activated every soul hole or whatever they were called and every single altar that turned great gems into black gems
When i became the lord of the vampires at Volkihar, i could rebuild the passage to the courtyard but nothing else yet... dont know if its a bug or if u just cant rebuild anything else, and no its not a mod. Anyone else rebuilded something else??
I've done this in vanilla special edition. If you talk to garan marethi in the volkihar castle after defeating harlon he gives you the choice to open up the passage to the courtyard
Daniel sharp will he give you choices to rebuild other parts of the castle? It doesnt make sense just to rebuild that one and leave the others like that
@@lifan9892 nope just the passage to the courtyard. He explains that harkon wanted it kept broken but since the player is in charge now you can get it fixed if you want
Epic Nate, can you explain something? At 3.20 or so, you were talking about Jim who "drove the clipracers to extinction". However in elderscrolls 5 Mjoll the Lioness in one of her dialoques she claimed to have met these creatures "the clipracers makes for excellent sport" so whats up with that?
is somewhere on this channel covered that when you go to save Serana she has slightly different dialogue depending on if you are vampire (vanilla game), human or werewolf?
I'm tempted to replay Skyrim for like 5th time, now that I've got your video I'm not tempted... I'm sure to replay it! Todd Howard should be paying you for reminding us to play this game xD
The info you gave about Arvak was not new news to me. But I honestly think that this was the first thing I’ve watched of yours that I already knew. Everything else has been something new. 😆😆 Also, how do you come across all this lore? How do you combine it all and show it in such a coherent way? I can barely stay up to speed with the normal gameplay. Lol
Jib has been in every Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind, that would make him like Cid from Final Fantasy, only more literal as it is the same person note just same name. Now I will need to search out for Jib in ES6.
did you know that if you can some how get in the thalmor embassy before starting the quest line to do so it will automatically start it after you walk in the room where your stuff would be if you chose to sneak stuff in?
Soul cairn is the Place to level up restoration. Just stand under one of the large soul stone (the masters) and heal yourself constantly. Just need lots of potions xD
If you soul trap nps in game, do they appear in the soulcairn? That would be nice feature if they did. I feel so bad for the many many many npcs i’m soultrapping to fuel my enchanted weapons on my current play through.
Another tiny detail, is if you have a follower and break into someplace (doesn't really matter where) and you try to talk with your follower, they will say the following: "you're not supposed to be here." But they shut up and help you anyway. 😂
Man I love this game. Owned it on PC, bought it for PS3, bought the Anthology, got the Special Edition on PS4 and PC, bought it for the Nintendo Switch. But mostly play the PC version because... Well - Mods. (and yet I disapprove of mods for Smash Bros... weird...)
I dont know if you have covered this in Fallout 3 but at the beginning of the Aiding The Outcast DLC mission the outcast that greets you will have different responses depending on what you are wearing.
