"In half" is a bit much. You do realize the Switch has a better frame rate and resolution when it's docked, right? It's probably not nearly as big a difference as you claim.

Skyrim on the go with mods. That's what I want!

A game on the go that isn't 7+ years old. Maybe a game that everyone and their mother hasn't played through countless times at this point. We can blame Bethesda for some of the above things, but the Switch is hardly any more advanced than consoles that are far outdated at this point.

Mark simple... Bethesda are the laziest developers going, figured it would be easier for them to port the 360 version with no changes than the remastered version scaling back. Also figured they'd fix their game too, but no such luck.

Mercy Severity you not trying making a good point. It's a handheld with two separate controllers that can be played by two people on the go. It can go in two modes docked and undocksd. With being 720p undocksd and 900p docked for skyrim.

Blaz3 Gam3r77 Well, it is more than playable according to a lot of reviews and youtube gameplays. I will for sure buy them, Doom and Skyrim, and also LA Noir.

If you look at its raw power its like a modern mobilized GTX280 so compared to the PS3's GeForce 7800 GPU and the XBOX 360's TeraScale X1900 it should be far more capable. The GTX 280 is old technology now but in the mobile space its perfect since 900p is very sharp on a tablet like the Switch. The Xbox 360 and PS3 were only really capable of 720P

Believe it or not the Switch is using much newer tech compared to Xbox One & PS4. Meaning it’s much more capable than you might think.

Yes! Preach, my man. So manny worry about graphics, but if the game doesnt have good gameplay, storyline, and running frames so that it doesn't look laggy as heck, it's worthless. Case in point: ps2's Magna Carta.

Cough, cough* boobooed all over the game industry back in the late '70s early '80s. A Japanese Italian plumber jumps onto the scene and the rest is history. Nintendo "dropped" the ball with the N64 and that's when the competition got the upper hand. I put "dropped" in quotation marks because it was a blessing in disguise. All the experience they gained from what to avoid in cartridge based consoles came from that "mistake". Fast forward 20 years and poof, Switch-cartridge based system. Nintendo said back in 1995 that as technology gets better prices drop. They said cartridges are the future. They expected to make a cartridge based system like the Switch from the begining. Just wait till the games come in the size of a Micro SD card with a class 10+ data exchange rate and an even less expensive manufacturing cost. As long as the Big N' continues in their current dirrection i expect them to take over the market in less than 3 years (mark my words). If Nintendo has yet to appeal to you cool. That's one more system for someone that deserves it and will genuinely appreciate what will continue to be Nintendo's renaissance.

Don't bother, Nomenclature. Some people take shat they prefer to heart. And KSH, you're going a tad overboard, dude. No offense, but wether you like it, or not, Nintendo, Realy did change things in the past, and though this isn't "Exactly" groundbreaking, it's a good gimmick. No they won't take over the PC and Console market, but they will atleast have their own little spotlight. a spotlight that, for the last couple of years, has kept them alive, and still well liked. That's all, nothing more, nothing less. Course, anything can change, but if there's anything you should NOT do, it's sell Nintendo short.

The gaming industry was pretty poppin' in Japan and Europe, not sure about Australia but Nintendo *only* saved the *console* sphere in NA as far as I know. PC gaming was getting bigger the whole time as it had more in its games and more "future proofing". the Atari was like the unity engine asset flips of its day which in turn made very little difference in the games released on it and it also allowed too many people to publish sub-par games, which caused the "gaming crash of 1983" which is told wrong by many. Yes Nintendo did in fact save the consoles in NA by releasing a superior console to the Atari and the other minor consoles of the time but the PC as itself has always been more powerful because consoles are a weaker mass produced "Personal Computer".

Nicholas Pine I think right now people what to see how well the switch runs. Graphics and frame rate are the best way to see how it's keeping up with the other console. Of course people don't expect it to be as good but I think they are surprised how good the switch looks considering its portability.

Graphics don’t normally matter when you’re talking about a 5 year old game. But Bethesda keeps pushing it on new consoles, so the comparison is always being brought up. Personally, I wouldn’t like to play Skyrim on Switch because I would like to spend as much time with it as possible. Staring at the tablet w low res textures would strain my eyes and break immersion.

Its still interesting to compare how far mobile technology has come though.

Louvidion I don’t have a switch lite I have a normal switch but from what I have seen it runs better than the Xbox and Ps4 version it doesn’t over heat like them too

That was my guess, but it's hard to actually tell based on these images. With the reduced ground clutter it looks more like the original release, but I had a feeling they would use the special edition as their base for this and tone it down from there, rather than working with the original and sprucing that up.

You see those textures and those lighting effects? The switch is running the remastered version

Switch is remastered version. Some of the volumetric lighting is toned down and the foliage isn't as dense in some parts but the textures and stuff are remastered. Plus the foliage, while not as dense as the remaster, is more dense than the PS360 versions.

Frame rate does matter, even with a controller. But good luck getting 60fps on something you can fit in your pocket. (if you remove the joy-cons at least) This is a completely fair compromise, especially considering ALL console versions run at 30fps.

The switch is portable - nuff said.
