Also worth noting there might be some mods that require an Anniversary Edition update. All I can say is I played Skyrim SE after the Anniversary Edition update for 3 days since it's release and have been able to find NO issues at all with this modlist.

just spent the last 4 hours downloading and installing every single mod from this list. i'm exhausted and i can't wait to see what it looks like tomorrow. i bought the 3080 i'm gonna use the whole 3080.

I’ve seen a few people asking for the load order. The mod manager I use, Vortex, does it automatically. And when it comes to one mod loading a texture over the other, that’s down to individual files and not a whole mod. If two mods both retexture all of the mushrooms for example, within vortex you select which mod loads in which texture for each mushroom, rather than one mod overwriting another.

I'm getting back into Skyrim modding after a nearly 3 year long break. This video is just the perfect kind of nitty gritty, detailed list I'm looking for to build off of. Thanks, Camel. Excellent as always.

I don’t comment a lot on RU-vid, but thank you for this. I have been modding Skyrim on and off for several years now. Since AE launched I’ve been trying to enjoy the more “vanilla” experience, but there are certain things (mostly graphically) that really hinder it for me after playing a modded experience for so long. The fact that I don’t even need SKSE (which is inherently buggy right now and causing a lot of CTDs for me before trying your load out) is amazing and i can’t remember when I last launched the game without SKSE. The game looks amazing and best of all my 2070 is barely even feeling it (i did 2k texture options for the more grand things like Skyrim 2020, full res for the smaller details that I knew i would notice more like armor). Thank you for helping make the game fun again and getting me away from the traditional modding loop (mod it till it breaks, then start over).

I've been playing Skyrim VR with around 100+ mods , and is just an amazing experience to be immersed in the world of the Elder Scrolls like that. Really, VR is the way to play it if you actually want to feel like the Dragonborn. Being in a tomb surrounded by Draugir in VR, or dimensioning the size of a dragon in front of you or a Giant , is really something to behold.

regarding the 16k alcuin’s wall, it SOUNDS massive, but the wall is so huge that you really do want a massive texture for it- i used 8k in my first install bc i thought that would be more than enough, but i was very shocked to see that it really was not as clear as i expected- i use the 16k version now, even though my computer is not very impressive

Today I finally finished your list from a bare bones install. Only thing I did different was load CBBE before the couple armors you had listed above it. Other than that, installed in your order. Works perfectly so far - no glitches, etc and looks amazing! Well done, sir!!! Wanted to make sure I was good to go before installing a couple of my own gameplay-related mods. Oh - in case anyone else wondering, I used Vortex for all the mod installs.

Thanks for the honesty at the front of the video about both your talents in modding and the requirements... very refreshing. There is only one thing more important than the mod list though - and that is the mod load order. If you can find it in your heart to post a complete load order, that would be fantastic. If your timestamps are in order to your load list, maybe just a mention in the notes that they are listed in order.

There, I finally finished this! Only took me three days! Great video, and a lot of really great mods. For horses, you should check out "Realistic Horse Breeds by KrittaKitty". Absolutely hands down the best and most realistic horse retexture on the nexus. Being a horse enthusiast, I can't play Skyrim without it. You should also check out "RS Children Overhaul". It gets rid of those awful potatohead vanilla children and makes each child look unique and much more realistic. It's another one I can't play without. I am definitely going to be trying out a bunch of the mods in your video. Thank you for such a great review, I enjoyed watching the entire thing.

30:54 an alpha channel is a two tone image that codes for transparency (alpha). So if you have a texture for roots, you'll have one image of roots with a solid background, then an identical image except the root part will be pure white and all the surrounding area will be black, and that tells the game to make those parts invisible and only show the root texture on the roots. Not sure this is the best way for me to explain it, but I mainly wanted to leave a comment. 😊

Used this list as well as a few not listed on here to give a retexture for NPCs and a mod for their behavior as well as some immersion mods really got me back into this game. Thanks a lot.

Is there any way you could share your load order? I'd like to know which mods overwrite parts of others in what order.

Because so many people are asking about the hardware requirements - I have installed every mod on this list + some other stuff and I am getting constant 60+ FPS after testing for 8h. Most of these Mods also have 2k instead of a 4k version. Here is my spec: RTX 2060 mobile 6gb @1300MHz/5500MHz Ryzen 4800h 8 Core/16 threads @4,2GHz 16gb RAM 3200MHz Samsung SSD 2TB

Fantastic, thank you so much for this! I just finished installing practically all of these, and I'm really looking forward to a play-through. I was surprised at how well everything came together, especially considering the quantity. I'm not sure my load order is the best, but it looks fantastic in-game! I appreciate you doing the leg work. No way could I have put together a mod list like this. Pfuscher's Ingredients depends on SE Parallax Shader Fix, which requires SKSE. It was the only one on this list that I ran into like that. I ended up installing SKSE at the end simply so I could have SkyUI; I got an error about (I think) the Quality World Map after that, but it seemed like a one-time message and it hasn't come back or limited functionality.

This is AMAZING and exactly what I was looking for. Just got a PC that can run all these mods and I'm super excited. Thank you for all your work putting this together!
