That's not just a dwemer ruin, that's one of the fiddly DLC dwemer ruins with the extra architectural complications and backtracking, if I'm remembering correctly. edit: in general Jon seemed to get a lot of expansion locations vs. basegame. Solstheim dwemer ruins, Dawnguard vampire castle.

I was wondering why I didn't recognize it, because I played Skyrim *a lot* and that's a very unique dwemer ruin, but I guess I just haven't played the DLCs as much.

@@claytonparfumorse3101 if you mean the one around the 20 min mark it was the solitude lighthouse into shors stone (blacksmith) into ysgramors tomb. if you mean alvors then yes its one of the ruin sections of volkihar

Gotta feel sorry for the people inside the Temple of Kynareth, their only two doors lead to a Dwemer puzzle-room on Solstheim & a slum-house in Windhelm's Grey Quarter respectively. Neither of which make for good options if you want to step _"outside"_ for a break.

The mod creator mentioned they had to replace doors with their own versions to make the mod work. That's what happened when you were clipping inside the mountain and why there was a mysterious portal outside the starting cave. They have asked players to report where the doors clip into the scenery, so they can fix it. [edit] If I had to guess, the quest markers not updating has to do with the doors all being replaced with the mod's own doors, too.

@KendallChaos While every normal "door" would have a counterpart, there's undoubtedly some doors which may not have a counterpart, like a pitfall loading screen. If you go back up the same "door," there's no actual door. Or perhaps a magic one way portal?

I am more familiar with Skyrim than I am with my own mother and even though I don’t remember the name the instant Jon exited the tutorial and came out in the Dwemer ruin I had PTSD flashbacks of getting stuck for an hour on the puzzle there while doing the Aetherium quest

It's not part of the Aetherium quest. He's in one of the Solstheim ruins which, ironically, has Jon's least favourite puzzle in the entire game in

If you could find the Clairvoyance spell it might be able to show you the way to your current objective. Not sure if it would work with the randomizer, but if it did the spell would be actually useful for once.

If you try to pickpocket a Whiterun guard and fail, you can pay your bounty and get teleported into Whiterun proper. Downside is, you lose all your ill gotten gains and you have to find your own way back to the wider world.
