@@MarkCrossfield unit purchased and I used your code. Great review. Let's hope I get a lesson so I can as it's more needed than the launch monitor 😂😂
Another factor in the “pros” category: size of the room required. The radar based unit requires 6 to 8’ behind the hitting area. The Skytrak is camera based and doesn’t require any room behind other the your backswing.
I am using this device and absolutely loving it. I can use any balls that I love. I don't have to pay for more data point. Not requiring larger room to set up. Only Con is, it proves that my golf and swing is so bad.
If you don't mind me asking are you able to play rounds against people with different types of simulators? Like people who own trackman or GC Quad / GC3 etc... are you able to play rounds with those people?
When you digitally put the screen capture as your room screen you did it really nice. Don’t like that you did it so well that it seemed like there was no shot delay at all! Haha.
I just ordered this for my home golf sim I just built. Can’t wait to get it. What drove me to get this one is the analytic data on the screen that gives you the optimal numbers in green and if you need more spin, etc, it’s in orange or red. This will help your game tremendously if you can adjust and make these numbers as close to green as possible. I have a tendency to deloft my irons and I have low launch and low spin. I’m looking to see this data to increase my launch, loft presented, and increase my spin…I know the distance will drop some due to this, but when I get in the 3-5 irons, launch is too low to hold greens typically. This is a valuable tool for people wanting to analyze their game and see actual numbers improve with what works. I also have a mlm2pro but I don’t like having to keep buying 70 dollar a box balls just to get my numbers. Also, quite a bit of misreads and totally doesn’t read on the mlm2pro. When it does read it is accurate. Software way better on skytrak. Graphics better on skytrak. Data gathered and presented data is better on skytrak. Hitting space is minimal with skytrak due to camera vs radar. It is more expensive, but it is worth it. Plus to get the player package for 250 per year is a good deal to get all the tools, plus WGT and E6 access. I pay 15 per month now for awesome golf and the stock rapsodo software blows. Awesome golf is good and fun, but only has 4 courses and they are cartoony. But at 15/ month…that’s 180/year…not far off from 250/year for skytrak player preferred package and you don’t get anywhere near the benefits. Thanks for the discount code Mark!
Club path and face to path a real selling point if you can understand them you can really see where you’re going wrong! Ive got the MLM2 pro which doesn't have that but the accuracy indoor seems good and the big + with that is the 3 swing views you get which really helps you know where you’re going wrong!
Have you had many disconnection issues with the MLM2PRO? Currently looking at that, Skytrak+ and the Mevo+ but obviously the price point of the MLM2PRO is a big plus as well as the shot / impact views.
@@iCharlie93 only got mine a few months ago and had no connection issues at all when connecting to the MLM2s wifi option, everything they had problems with early doors seems to be ironed out now definitely worth trying. Compared to a friend’s trackman indoors yesterday and the numbers were within 2/3 yards every shot and even picks up really short chip shots if you want for a sim!
Another objective and open review Mark, thank you as always. I am thinking about a home set-up when I retire back to the UK. Would you be able to do a continuation of reviews for people thinking the same as me? I appreciate this may only be a small number of your followers (lucky ones) so understand if it is not viable. However, I love to at least hear what you have learned setting your Pro facilities up. Thanks again...
Have one and love it. My Wife and I play courses 4-5 times a week. We do use GSPRO currently not officially supported but with code from discord works great no putting yet but for us we don't use putting anyway.
I think an important factor is the devices ability to integrate to the software you want to play. I have tried many, and keep coming back to Gspro. Without that integration I think it’s a deal killer. And many of my friends have passed on this device for that reason alone.
Great review I had original skytrak which was great - traded in for GC3 which is unbelievable and helped me enormously- the plus looks fantastic too - great way to improve your game over the long winter months 😊
I have the previous model and it has been a godsend for me. It has everything this one does but no club data. Same software and I don't miss the club data much. I do occasionally use a PRGR for club head speed as the original doesn't measure it and its estimates are not good.
Thanks Mark, a helpful review. You gave a similarly positive review of the Mevo Plus. For someone looking mainly for stroke/game improvement (will play some simulation golf but this is secondary to game improvement) which would you advise
Very good and thoughtful review of the sky track+. I own the original sky track and my son and I love it. Recently have been thinking of upgrading and was considering the bushnell launch pro or sky track+. Would love to get your opinion between those two launch monitors. Since they are about $1000 difference in price and bushnell uses more expensive software.
Thanks Mark, a helpful review. You gave a similarly positive review of the Mevo Plus. For someone looking mainly for stroke/game improvement (will play some simulation golf but this is secondary to game improvement) which would you advise?
Great review Mark...I think that if your just going for range info, the Ernests sports B1 might be the unit for around $ 500 but if youwant more data this unit couldtick all the boxs.. Thanks and Happy Holidays to You...
Great video and info. We wanted the actual comparison of the accuracy. Side by side on the same ball that was hit. Is it catching the same spin numbers or is it 400 rpms or whatever off. That would be the next thing.
I have the original Skytrak and, from what I can tell, uses the save exact software as SkyTrak Plus. Would you please specify what additional data you are getting from "Plus"?
Been enjoying these launch monitor reviews. Out of interest are you going to do the new Rapsodo MLM? Looks to be very good and accurate for the price but would love your opinion. Cheers
It'd be pretty neck and neck, mevo+ would pull slightly ahead if you consider outdoors part of the readings, Iv got the mevo+ and compared it to trackman 4 but not gcquad yet
I own both, had the mevo+ a couple of years and recently bought the skytrak+, the mevo+ is hands down better when on the range, and it can get unlimited ball flights etc, but indoor the skytrak+ is easily more accurate and consistent. You get far more shots on the mevo+ that are just wrong, instead of a pull hook it's a slice etc. And on lessons I have using a trackman, I'm quite good at calling the shot before it loads. (As it has a delay like the skytraks do)
Thanx Mark...I definitely see this thing in my future even though I live in a year-round-golf place. Once I clean out my second garage I plan on putting in a sim. This is the unit I plan on buying. Thanx for the honest opinion, especially use off of grass (which others have poo-poo'd).
Great video as always, whats the shot delay like with the SkyTrack+? I had the original Skyrtack and moved to the Mevo+ which is almost instant once the balls been hit.
I have a mevo+ and just bought the skytrak+, I feel like the mevo+ is brilliant on the range, but indoor, I don't trust it anymore, too many shots that are way off, compared to when I was on a using a trackman I can call the shot before it starts on the screen. With regards to the delay, I don't find it any different to the trackman I have lessons on, but for some reason, no one mentions the delay on that, and it costs 20k.
Can anyone tell me who has used it, is there any lag or time taken from when the ball is hit to when the shot is registered on the screen? Or is it in real time or there abouts?
Have they improved the shot delay and misread problem from the original? I owned it and for myself was fine but whenever I had guests over it was annoying telling them all the ‘rules’ to get it to behave. I feel like the bushnell launch pro; without club data, is cheaper and much better without all the finicky bits.
Does anyone use a specific ball for Skytrak? I find it misses a few and i tried covering a ball with lines but it just made a mess of my impact screen!
I have the prior skytrak, it seems like the biggest upgrade here is the radar units (vs just strictly camera on mine) for club data - which tends to be the only thing I wish I had now for learning/practice. I'm sure it's been a while but do you feel like there's a large delta between accuracy of the old vs new Skytrak?
@@theCycleReport idk I do lessons constantly on gc4 and have a skytrak at home and my numbers are always the same. I get same carry and spin and shot shape with all my clubs and that’s what matters. I’ll eventually upgrade to the plus. But the standard skytrak is one of the best pieces of at home kit to ever come out
I just bought the old one this past summer and love it. I do wish for some clubhead data but its not worth the 2000 dollar or so upgrade so soon after I bought this one (at like half price refurbished once the plus came out). But in another year or so if the new one can be found for a reduced price on the used market, I might upgrade eventually.
I've just got the skytrak plus, for home use, if I had an original skytrak I wouldn't have bothered, I do have a mevo+, but wanted to get the skytrak+ as I felt it would be more accurate hitting into a net or screen than the mevo+, and from what I've seen, it 100% is. Will keep the mevo+ for outdoor/range use, as that's where it shines for me.
No, it doesn't. Mevo+ does, I've found it adds 10% to my carry distance. And spin etc vary also, but didn't have a good look at that. I bought a skytrak recently and have only used it at home, do plan on taking it to the range and will just reduce my carry by 10% if I do any skill challenges etc and see if it lines up.
Yet im sure most people spend this on a holiday? Its your choice just like a holiday, a new car, etc etc, considering it is something that will last for years and can be used everyday I think its a good price, again personal choice.
@@DaveFogelunless you've compared both side by side, your opinion is meaningless, based on your comment you most certainly haven't tested them both. Your opinion has zero weight to discredit the claim of the op.
@@DaveFogel you can claim unlikely but it’s a fact lmao. I’ve had it for years and been getting professional lessons for years. Ima quality ball striker and my numbers match. Your opinion is irrelevant to what I know to be facts
