For over 20 years SJVC has partnered with SkyWest Airlines to prepare students for coveted mechanic positions on the SkyWest aircraft maintenance team.
In November 2022 SkyWest generously donated a CRJ 200 Lombardi passenger aircraft. This commercial aircraft allows students to practice their skills on the same mechanics they will find in the field.
The SkyWest Maintenance Apprentice Program offers exceptional aviation mechanic students an opportunity to get a head start on their career as part of the SkyWest Airlines team. Some benefits for participants of the program include opportunities to receive hands-on experience, facility tours, job shadowing, and special training. Participants will also have the option of receiving mentorship from one of SkyWest’s mechanic advisors who can help guide them on a path to professional success.
The SkyWest AMT Pathway Program provides up to $7600* in educational assistance and reimbursements for exceptional mechanics to join SkyWest Airlines to jump-start their career. As you complete your training to gain your A&P certificate, you’ll also enjoy SkyWest mentorship and may have the opportunity to participate in events like maintenance base visits, job shadowing, and more.

- Up to $1600 in A&P test fee reimbursements*
- Up to $1500 in moving expense reimbursements, plus mileage*
- Up to $4500 in education assistance*
