I've been using quadversity with my o4x goggles since I bought them a couple of years ago. I love those for analog and long range. But JB is correct, I'm nobody.

Id love a top strap option like the HDO2 has a top strap hook. Just a lil more plastic on the fan cover and allows for more comfort. If anyone makes a 3d print file for one plz pmk!

The SKY04X V2 has a nasty bug where the images get trimmed inexplicably. This occurs across all modes and resolutions. To reproduce the issue, set up a static scenario-place your quad on a table, connect, observe the image through the goggles, and turn on the DVR. Take note of where the edges of your image are. Then play back the recording,and you'll notice a larger image, indicating a wider FOV. This issue is quite frustrating, especially considering that I contacted the support team. Their response implies awareness of the problem but suggests they won't take any corrective action. I really hope the newer version doesn't inherit this bug.

@@Chillin-fpv Welp I was wrong. They actually came in the mail today and they're awesome. It's a little windy and my mobula 7 wound up in a puddle, so my goggle test got cut short, but I got through 3 batteries and I love how light they are. I'm coming from ev800d's so they are a giant upgrade.

@@Brunoku sounds like it's time to build a waterproof quad. Darwinfpv or hglrc both have waterproof parts. Then get some worry free fpv for all the solder joint. I just finished my waterproof build.

So I have older sky zones. 02s I think. So if I want digital and annalog. I should get the 4 pro? I am new to fpv so please tolerate the ignorance of it. I want to build the kit but don’t know if I should go analog or digital. I don’t mind getting a new goggle but have no idea what. Thanks!!
@TheCivildecay

Imo it's better to go with a hd goggle and add a analog Bay to it than the other way around
@thebigbilltheory4388
@thebigbilltheory4388 6 месяцев назад
Ok. So what pair would you recommend. I’d probably only go digital now anyway. I only have a whoop drone for analog anyway.

@@thebigbilltheory4388 Wait to see some more reviews. See what the HDMI latency is. As of right now HD Zero is the best goggle in terms of capability and low latency. It can do 100fps Walksnail with a VRX through HDMI and has no added analog latency. The new walksnail x has latency added for analog and no analog DVR. These skyzone04x pro would have no added latency for analog, just need to see what HDMI can do. Watch MadsTech latency video, that is what im basing my info on. My thinking, I want analog and Walksnail but dont really like how they implemented analog into Avatar X. No DVR for analog is a deal breaker. I dont really need HDZero but the goggles are capable of everything I want. After adding a Walksnail VRX and analog receiver. These Skyzone seem like the can do what i need but they are pretty much the same price as the HDZero.... I cant decide on any of them. Definitely waiting before i decide on which HD. Them we got DJI too....🤦
@JPspinFPV
@JPspinFPV 6 месяцев назад
I just can't see the Skyzone goggles being justified at that price. A few things to consider here. The WS and the new Skyzones just don't have any real user feedback. The WS goggles cost less... But also come from an ecosystem where there is constant development. As a pilot, once you start dipping into HD will you want to continue with analogue builds in the future? I'm certain for the vast majority that just isn't true. The WS goggles can use an analog receiver, and probably one that performs better than the Skyzone unit. To me it just makes more sense to go with the goggles X... At least on the cover, and I do really like Skyzone products.

Probably late but, if you already have analog goggles go for dedicated digital goggles (eg. DJI/Walksnail/HDZero). There are no goggles that are truly "all-in-one" (not event 2 systems in one).

I just don’t understand why goggles are so expensive… especially analog.. it will never make sense to me..
@urubufpv
@urubufpv 6 месяцев назад
I think it's just the fact that they have 2 OLED screens, and since they're so small, it's expensive to have good resolution on them because the pixels have to be very small.

@urubufpv
@urubufpv 6 месяцев назад
@@WindjumbieFPV maybe it's something similar to what happens on printers. If the printer is cheap, the ink's are expensive, and if the ink's are cheap, then the printer is expensive. Analog goggles may be more expensive (they may not, there are several options), but the vtx's are pretty cheap compared to a digital system.
@urubufpv
@urubufpv 6 месяцев назад
@@mach389 you can go digital, it's totally worth it, but it's not really cheaper if you think about the fact that you're going to break your vtx if you're doing crazy freestyle flights. A cheap analog vtx will cost you as little as $10, and a very good one will cost you about $50, while digital ones would start at something like $120 and go up to $200. Well, if you're not really into freestyle or racing, and want to just do cinematic or cruise flights, then yeah, digital would be 100% better. Edit: analog cameras are also way cheaper, and have good low light performance if compared to digital. Again, it just depends on what you're gonna do.

Unless the Sky04x Pro improves the crappy 10ms HDMI input lag seen on the Sky04 v2 in many VRX latency tests, there is no point buying these for use with a digital VRX and expecting latency to be on par with an integrated digital goggle. The best gaming monitors have < 1ms input lag (or time to first pixel), and this is what we need from the Sky04x Pro for them to be equivalent to OEM goggles when paired with a VRX.
@brunorct3022
@brunorct3022 6 месяцев назад
But you don’t get true 1ms response even on high end monitors when playing cloud gaming for example, right? What’s the true latency of analog or digital video signal then?
