As someone who bought and wanted to get into the Judge Dredd version of this game system, I will definitely take a long wait-and-see attitude with this new Slaine version. Naturally the figures and the terrain look great - and the book art is evocative and compelling - but it's the richness of the playing experience that makes or breaks a game. I'll note that Judge Dredd came and then largely faded after an initial round of videos upon release. Frankly, I found the game rather limiting despite the high production of the cards and book - often a firefight with about two or three judges against several baddies but the gameplay wasn't as sharp as you hoped for in the setting. Perhaps Slaine will have a better fate.
