I absolutely love Slade, I remember at 14 years of age hearing My Oh My for the first time on the radio and thinking God thats going to do well. And it did, it became a Christmas staple of the time. But my favourite Slade album which I would love on splatter vinyl is their last release You Boyz Make Big Zoize. That I had on cassette in 1987 and played it to death in my car as a teenager with my friends and they all loved it. So my vote is release that one and I will buy it like a shot!

Orelia, Western Australia 1972, 15 year old me lying in bed listening to the radio. This raucous, huge, powerfull voice blasts out "allright everybody, let your hair down". That was my introduction to Slade. Ive loved them ever since.................Slade Alive is still my favourite live album. Thanks Phil, you have a knack for bringing back memories.

Love the passion, Phil! Slade was my first favourite band - only saw them once (Monsters of Rock 1981). Band of the day, for me 👍

Dave Hill tuning up at Reading. Someone shouted out "That's near enough" from the front. Noddy repeated it to Dave. That was me , I think that was on "Six of the best" Reading live. My claim to fame.

Been into Slade since the very beginning. I have everything including the N'Btweens, Ambrose Slade and every single EP, test pressing, acetate and album of original material they ever released. For my part with all the Slade albums still readily available I have no interest in re-buying them simply because they are in a garish splatter vinyl. FYI, my first live gig at the ripe old age of 14 was the New Victoria show. I've seen them more times than I care to remember and played alongside them at their last appearance on stage at the Walsall Town Hall back in 1991. I simply love this band they gave my life its musical direction. They led me into Sabbath, Maiden, Priest, UFO, Kiss Ghost and Rammstein. I dread to think what crap I might now be listening to if it wasn't for that band. If BMG really want our money go and find some unreleased tracks we haven't heard before instead of rehashing the old back catalogue. Every band records double the amount of songs needed for an album and then picks what they regard as the best. There must be something surely?

I love this review, from a fellow who sounds just like Jimmy Lea but sporting Noddy Holder's current haircut. 👍

Nice review Phil! I`ve pre-ordered `Till Death Us Do Part`. If I could choose the next two I would pick `You Boyz Make Big Noize` (which includes the wonderful `Still The Same`)and `Whatever Happened to Slade`. Hope they do them all it would be a real shame now if they don`t. I`ll tell you a story about some David Bowie reissues in the early 90`s, they were released every few weeks or so in chronological order on vinyl, cd and I think cassette. The series ran from his first or second album up until `Scary Monsters..`. Anyway, collected them all on vinyl as they came out and when the last album was to be released (Scary Monsters..)I turned up to buy it and the decision had been taken NOT to release this one on vinyl! Really?! Couldn`t believe it. Oh well, just thought I`d tell you about it.

Slade Alive was the first album I ever owned as a kid and played it endlessly. Then, as you say, I moved on to Purple, Wishbone etc. Recently, after decades, I heard it again and it sounded as powerful as ever. Great stuff.

Too be honest I’ve not been collecting all of these for financial reasons as I have when Slade rocked the world box set which are in coloured vinyl and have others on cd. Will buy live at Victoria .would like to see return to base and live at the bbc rereleased as there really hard to get hold of

love this reissue campaign, as well as What Ever Happened To Slade, we need a reissue of Return To Base ('79), not fussed about Alive II but i am a completist LOL. They may as well do the whole lot hadn't they. Till Deaf is a fantastic album.

I bought 'Old new' ....thought the recording quality was very poor. Are they pressing digital copies and knocking them out cheap? Is the whole series like this? Thanks for all your videos. Great stuff.

Going to have to wait for these 2 to add to my collection of all the previous splatter re-issues because i ain't paying £30 for each of these as much as i want them, some of these reissues are getting rediculous in price, i remember when the first few slade came out and they were £20 and in over a couple of years they have gone up by a tenner, nah not having it, you have to draw the line somewhere and this is mine

Phil, Any information on why the release date for the UFO Lights Out deluxe cd keeps changing in the US. Was to be 2/16. Then 3/1. Now 3/8. Any info. Amazon is no help.

Loved the show Phil. Great review. I have all the originals so have only been buying a few of the splatter vinyl but you’ve persuaded me to get the rest! Which ones next? Slade On Stage (my all-time fav live album) & Return To Base (my favourite Slade album), perhaps with the Six Of The Best EP as a bonus, we can dream! As an aside, I was recently on the Contrarians defending Slade to Martin Popoff. You might want to watch. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LKJUd0weqLc.htmlsi=wHXCYMY3kv7DWZjX

Whatever Happened To... ? definitely plus, I would love to see an expanded Alive 2 as 1977 was when Slade were top of their game as a live band, not that they were ever anything less than brilliant.

Hi Phil, It hasn't been released on vinyl in the UK since 1974. It wasn't included in the When Slade Rocked The World vinyl box set, that was albums from 1971 to 1975. It needs a release on vinyl. I have a copy form 71, which I've Looked after. But a remastered splatter vinyl would be great. Cheers Raymond@@NowSpinningMagazine
