While it's good to see Dave and Don carrying on having a good time and playing the old songs with an able assist from Mal McNulty on vocals, it still isn't Slade without Noddy and Jim.
One of the most underrated bands ever. Absolutely adore how does it feel. What a tune. Noddy Holder's voice is still incredible. Guys a dam genius song writer to. Miss Noddy big time
I don't see why people are bashing this. As a 19 year old not being around obviously for their peek in the 70s/80s. I think it's great that they continued to get on the stage and perform for their fans. And they've always been about being just an uplifting fun band. They never needed to be great musicians. But they're music still sounded good. And the band is clearly still having fun on stage doing what they do for their fans!
This song is fun and makes me happy and want to get up and dance. Its still a great song! I grew up with this song and wouldn't trade it for any of the unoriginal, vanilla crap of today. Especially the atmosphere. 80's were the best.
I think they sound pretty good they didn't keep anything down there playing in the original key and he's singing a great remember how old these guys are in there up there killing it.

I went into a pub in Wolverhampton called The Gifford Arms a few years ago, while at a conference at the local uni. There was a DJ in a dark back room, playing Slade to an empty room. I asked him if he played any Deep Purple. He said, and I quote: "Look mate, I only play Slade. If you don't like it, fuck off."
Saw them at kings Lynn corn exchange tonight, of course they are better with noddy and Jimmy but at least dave and Don keep touring so that we can still enjoy their fabulous songs live. They were awesome tonight, one big happy party, we were all singing and dancing nonstop, Keep it going fellas, I certainly respect you and love what you are doing.
Amazing, still alive and kicking, the allways British Boys and granddads from Slade! They pass me by about 15 years, meaning I was at the right age for enjoying them when they did their thing.Thanks for sharing this one!

I was one of Slades biggest fans, and being black country born and bred, i saw them live and they were just awesome live, but without Noddy & Jim it's just not Slade, infact this is dire.
This has got 2 b the worst ever version of this song, what on earth were they thinking doing it without Noddy & Jim?, it just pathetic, they would have been better off NOT doing it at all.

И я тоже не умаляю достоинства других, но всё же... другой состав, это уже профанация. Без Нодди и Ли - не настоящий Слэйд. Также, как если бы убрать из состава и Хилла, было бы уже не то.
It's 6:30am Sunday morning September 20th in Melbourne and I'm about to leave for work. Damn this song by Slade always perks me up. Was trying to decide what CD to bring with me. It's going to be Slades Greatest hits.
It was a far try but without naddy it wont be the same and i give my all to the drummer for hanging in there after all the shit he has been through, my hats off to that man.
Jim and noddy wrote pretty much all the songs so they're living good off the royalties. Im not knocking them, writers always makes more but without noddy's voice, it just isn't slade.

Yeah that's Dave hill and Don Powell on the drums. Jim Lea and Noddy were no longer in the band. Jim left at the same time as Noddy. The new members were Craig Fenney (bass), Steve Makin (guitar) and Steve Whalley (Lead vocals and guitar).
Just great, for me almost better to see them now. Dave Hill always had that special X factor for me. And his way of playing guitar is unike< his feeling, he just play exactly how he think it should sound,not cpoying anyone. And Don I heard have a temper, well it gets him playing drums and putting his soul 100% into it. Think this is better than the old setup ! They re looser now, not so stiff.
no one can replace noddy holder ,or jim lea, without them, the,re would be no songs, and no slade, no way is this a better group, you just cant replace , noddy, and jim, slade were, and always will be, the best live group of the 70,s and early 80,s
I disagree as when they were writing countless hits in the '70's, they really didn't have an MTV to help them out. Top Of The Pops wasn't the same. Do remember how long it took for them to get a hit. They were together since 1966-67. Now-a-days, it's all good fun, as everyone knows them & they don't have anything to prove anymore. It was good to see.

I'm sure this is no unfamiliar, but more basic knowledge but as a reply to all comments like Eskay1206's right here, and those who so desperately lacks positive attention from those around or maybe just most of the social/logical/reasonable parts of your brain is in some kind of coma-like state .. ? That being said, Dave Hill and Don Powell are the two original founders of what were to become the glamrock band, Slade, though a variety of band names were used before the name SLADE as a stand-alone name. Further on, despite being the original founders, none of them are particularly skilled musicians, but Neville Holder (aka Noddy) and James (aka Jim) Lea on the other hand, are very decent musicians. Noddy has his voice, perfect for Slade and the songs they've played, but Jim Lea, the former bass player and also the one who wrote pretty much most of the music and also lyrics, but often together with Noddy. Jim Lea, however, plays bass, guitar, he sings quite good on Radio Wall of Sound, he plays all the piano parts, the electric violin and even trumpet (This Girl, Nobody's Fool). He is a multi musician, in other words. Noddy actually plays the "accordion"-like Musette on the In For a Penny intro, though... But Jim at some point felt that he wanted to enact on the fact that he held a much higher musical skill level, and understandabley sought out other, perhaps more challenging tasks. As for Noddy, having his voice and singing as a "trademark", and even when holding a guitar when performing, he often just have it hanging from his neck, while using his arms and hands in more "entertaining" manners, thus made me think that an entertainer is exactly what Noddy was, not a dedicated musician. So after many years with ups and downs, they are back to scratch, with the only two original band members still active, and they managed to find another bass player who also seems to be playing piano and violin, and a singer who is ok with just singing someone else's songs, without getting bored of his ass. STOP ALL THIS SHITTY TALK ABOUT THE CURRENT LINE-UP, THEY'RE GETTING OLD. MAYBE LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE BAND AT ALL.
Жалкая пародия. Уходить надо вовремя. Неужели у Дона и Дэйва такие проблемы с деньгами, чтобы делать такие "концерты". Публику прсто развели и унизили, мол с них этого хватит.
