Aaron Kyro is back for another episode of HACKED! Today, we're hacking "The Slammed Skateboard" which is a board that was sent in for our You Make It We Skate It Series! The original slammed skateboard was so sick but we had some bending of the trucks and lost a lot of the structural integrity! In today's episode we test out some Slammed Skateboard Hacks that are sure to make this board the greatest lowrider in history!

I feel ya on that man, this one got my gears turning. I might have to make a McMaster-Carr order soon. Also I wondered if shaving the diameters down on the wheels would help reduce the amount of cut-out on the deck..

Aaron you've been a huge inspiration for me for years and you make me so happy and I'm really glad to support Braille Skateboarding and by buying tons of merchandise! love to rock it. your a great person😃 I heard you graduated from UBC? I had no idea you were in British Columbia possibly Vancouver for a while in the past! odd because your American! what lead to you go to British Columbia? could you possibly make a video about yourself in that aspect telling us more deeper story about you and all that sort of thing.. your travel story how school went for you and how you created braille skateboarding. I know theirs a video about how you made braille but I want you to go even deeper about your history it intrigues me you've inspired me HEAVILY over THE YEARS and you made me even a better version of myself and I have only you to thank for that the impact you've made to someone through a screen has been huge and i had to tell you all this just so you know you've done so many amazing things. your story's are very relatable and I'd just love to hear more if it's not too much to ask..❤️ just know theirs people out there that really love you and want to hear more about you and your life in general. idk i just want you to get more specific with your life story from travel to skateboarding to all your experiences. I want to know what made you come to British Columbia as well. I hope this didn't sound weird at all! I'm a socially anxious person always have been but i had to let you know how much you've done for my life. I used to suffer from depression back in the day and I'm cured at this point thanks to the approach's i took like I said you inspired me alot you got me back in to skateboarding and i did everything i could to get better from your tutorial's one step at a time. here's my skateboard set up. Bones Super Swiss 6 Ball Bearings, Gold Ace AF1 Trucks, Powell Peralta Dragon Formula 93A V4 wheels (love them!) , Almost Mullen Expanded Deck 8.25, Santa Cruz Mob Grip Tape, Ace Shims 8", and Almost Nuts And Bolts (using gold's lol) Just made an order on the braille website as well for the new Red Lodge shoes! can't wait to rock em! also bought a ton of other merch blessings! PS SORRY FOR THE LITERAL ESSAY I WROTE HERE👍🏼😅😂 it's not hard to write alot when it comes to something like this.. i have so much to say lol. Anywho thank you so much for everything once again! g-d bless you! from a true fan..with appreciation ❤️

Drill holes for the trucks, so you can top mount the truck plate dropped down to the bottom of the board and then mount the axel afterwards. Sanwhiched, like on some longboards 😉 that gets you pretty low.

Should just use 5/16 threaded rod instead of the eyelets and use wire clamps to hold it to the deck might need four clamps per axle just to make sure it holds. Also a deck with a bigger kick in the tail would help with landing the kick flip because of it being so low. Great video by the way

Alright boys I bet 2 pieces of ready rod going across the whole bottom so that they are 1 piece between the front and back wheel sets, fastened in with 2 flat pieces of metal through the existing hardware holes. You might want to try to make a small nose/tail bump on the bottom just to give you a little more height for the pop. Great hack you're on the right track!

You guys build your own boards, I think your best bet would be to put bars through the board itself for trucks while making a new board and build the plys around it maybe with a fiberglass sheet also for durability in the board before you finish all the layers. If you do this you have to shout me out 😂

I feel like it’s breaking because where the wheels are on the low rider skateboard it makes nose, the middle of the body and the tail make a basically a pinpoint location like squeezing the structural integrity of the nose & the tail to the body making a thinner place so when you land on you’re basically focusing the board

You need to refine your idea a few times, imagining all of the things that can go wrong before actually building it. Once you refine your idea a few times you'll realize there aren't many things that can go wrong. Another important thing... USE THE PROPER TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT! Eye injuries are no joke and can ruin your vision for the rest of your life so use protective eyewear especially when you are working around glowing hot shards and sparks of metal like that. Vice grips should never be used to fasten a six point nut so use a six point socket. For structure I recommend using stainless steel nuts, bolts, screws, etc. whenever possible as opposed to normal steel with that bluish zinc coating. Stainless steel is non-corrosive and stronger. For something as thin as a skateboard, and even though it's made of maple plywood which is a very strong wood, I would never countersink a screw like that, especially a weight bearing area like that. Instead I would have used large flat washers on both sides of the deck. I've really only countersunk for projects in which the wood is hardwood and at least 3/4" in width. Or if I'm building out of 2x4 or some larger lumber. Another tip. If you use a drill instead of an impact driver you change the torque settings for the best fasten without ruining the wood. Remember wood is very porous and at a microscopic level is filled with many holes. It is nowhere near the strength of most construction metals. An impact driver is outputting all of its torque always. Anyway in my opinion, the way the board was sent to you is probably the best iteration, and I would say you could cut the "mud guards" so to speak off of the top, however they appear to be connected to the axle, not to mention if you try to work around this by cutting only to the point where the axle isn't getting cut off, then you are left with sharp metal sticking out. And even if you filed it smooth would still most likely cut you in the event of a fall. In other words, there is a reason why after all these decades the four holes on a skateboard are in the center. Just my two cents.
