Now that’s what I call great coaching with the young players working with them on every aspect of the game along with teaching the fundamentals of stick handling skills
Fantastic!!! When are you coming to Northern Michigan? Our Pee Wees & Bantams could use your help. Just viewing the skating edges video was impressive enough. Mechanics and Kinetics, you make it look soooooooo easy to see the result! Those troupers deserve alot of credit.Thank you!!!
I wish I could start ice hockey :( I'm 12, I'm really good at stick handling and shooting but my mum said I'm too old to start now because other people that play hockey have been playing since they were young
Hey bud, i stepped on the ice for the first time at the age of 13, 3 years later, im still playing hockey. If you love this sport go for it, it will help you bave a better and more fun future, trust me, go for it.
@@p4inl3ss94 I've been playing hockey for over 20 years at a high level (D3 and Juniors). Slapshots to me are a waste of time. I've scored more goals with a hard wrist shot or a quick snap shot then I ever did with a slapshot. A majority of slapshots I did score on were either rebounds or one-timers on a power play. For a forward like myself, they are a last resort, not a shot I would use on a normal basis. Now that I've been playing in competitive leagues post college, I almost never use it. It's inaccurate, it takes a lot of motion (as opposed to a wrist shot or a snapshot) and it leaves you unprotected and prone to getting knocked off the puck rather easily because you're usually off balance. So no, not every player needs to know to slapshot. Every player should have an accurate, hard wrist shot which will score many more goals than a slapshot ever will.
@@darksaga80 I agree somewhat. When I take a slapper it's usually just a quarter or half swing, never the reach for the sky slapper which, as you say, takes a lot of motion and time.
@@harmagician1 Yeap, I'm the same way. On the rebound coming out when I'm in the slot, I do the same thing, 1/4 swing and lean into that baby to keep low. Totally agree with you mate.
