I like this but I would zenithal with gray and then drybrush with white to pop the edges of armour and so on. This is a nice method if you "have" to paint an entire army, easy and mindless.

When people wanted color photos back in the black and white days, this is how they did it. The white to black zenithal transition is technically 'setting the value' before colorizing (creating color saturation). I find it fascinating how old the technique is and that Its taken miniature paint almost 40 years to catch up to this process.

I’m at the point where I just start with a grey primer then move on to a white dry brush, all the nooks and crannies end up dark enough after applying the speed paint thanks to the heavy pigments settling in those recesses.

I just bought speed paint 2.0 and WOOOOOW!!!! I am NEVER going to go back to citadels Spray with white primer and then some speed paint. I finished 10 models in 2 hours!!!! Super easy and super fast. My models look so good despite I am a poor painter. Every beginner should buy speed paint

I would love to see more Fantasy Miniatures. I am the DM for my party and everyone loves it when I paint the minis. The Orc and Goblin tutorial blew them out of the water when I showed them. So maybe a beholder or mimic would make my day!!

Speedpaints shade in two strengths just fine, so I don't bother with zenithal. If I need more contrast, before the Speedpaint I drybrush with Vallejo Pale Sand (or whatever the AP equivalent is).

Thank you for sharing; I think the overall White Prime with a diluted Black Wash accomplishes similar effect with a more vibrant model for non-Army type figures and games.

I needed a really saturated pink and my flgs only carries tap and citadel. I broke my 10 year swear off of army painter paints since they ghosted me while doing tutorials for the website to try the pink triad. As much as I hate to admit it - they're decent. Certainly not "best in the world"... but good. Well played, Army Painter.
