Slap Tonguing on Saxophone 

I came about my slap tonguing in a slightly peculiar way, using no breath and a multiphonic fingering. I found this enabled me to create the percussive effect successfully without getting sucked into the black hole of just tonguing a note really hard again and again. Quite firm pressure is needled on the reed from the lip to create the vacuum then the pop. See if my unusual method works for you.
