Slash teams up with Wolfmother's Andrew Stockdale for 'By The Sword', the first single from the debut, self-titled solo album, available through Roadrunner Records
I have been a big fan of Wolfmother for a very long time. One of my go to bands since high school (im old). Just heard this for the first time today. Excited to have a new jam!
With the horses that you ride And the feelings left inside Comes a time you need to leave all that behind Well they claim they'd like to know Anyone could let to go And the people gather 'round for the last show … Well there is a reward To live and die by the sword Well they tried to complicate you But you left it all behind All worldly possessions Are left for recollection And finally it's all gone! … They're releasing all the hounds What is lost can still be found When you have both of your feet here on the ground Well there’s some who choose to run Following the setting sun And now it seems the journey has begun … Well there is a reward To live and die by the sword Well they tried to complicate you But you left it all behind All the worldly possessions Are left for recollection And finally it's all gone! … With the horses that you ride And the feelings left inside come's a time you need to leave it all behind … Well there is no reward To live and die by the sword Well they tried to complicate you But you left it all behind All the worldly possessions Are left for recollection And finally it's all gone!
I like that you mentioned understanding, you grasp the concept of how important is the music background and reasons for which it is created. It's very easy to not make any sort of effort an just label music as terrible because the sounds are not familiar. Dubstep as genre is now very good example of this it's wildly popular both loved and hated with passion, yet try asking someone what is it where it came from. Very interesting story how one catchy tune makes extremely niche genre so big.
Mesmo tomando vários rumos aleatórios na vida eu sempre volto pra escutar essa música. Pqp voz do crlh e esse solo lindo, como tem gente que da deslike nisso? Traz paz 🤭
Compare this to that auto-tune garbage they currently play on the radio now. This song is awesome, beautiful, powerful, has soul and is honest. It's depressing to know most people will never hear it.
Ill start out saying that i love wolfmother and Andy's sound. i see them every time they come to town and can tell you that his studio aided voice is much better than his live version voice... He struggles mightily in concert to sound even remotely like he does studio wise
nonpoint666rocks This whole song is Zeppelin-ish, to me. Zeppelin being my very first favourite band~ and still one of my all time faves. Plant is also one of my favourite male vocalists. Such a legend! Layne, Chris & Myles rounding out my favourite male vocalists. 😉 Slash is one of my favourite guitarists~ so much soul.

I've said this b4 and I'll say it again, Slash is the golden goose of music. Anything he does is great. I know I'll draw criticism, but fuk GnR, Bill Bailey keeps playing the same shit year after year. Slash on the other hand is putting out music left and right
ohinek007 True, But Zakk Wylde also makes very melodic music. Listen to de solos of Mama I'm Coming Home, No More Tears, Angel of Mercy, Dreamer, Sold my Soul, Way Beyond Empty, Darkest Hour... And Farewell Ballad!!!!!
