That wasn’t right for them to do that to GnR like seriously they tried their best to stop them but Axl being Axl pushed through. What a legend GnR is

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I interpret the lyrics as a "small town white boy" who tells a story as he sees the world while "tryin' to make ends meet". I've met several guys throughout my life that fit this description with who look at the world the same way. Maybe I just rationalizing because I like the song so much? Nevertheless, I think Izzy Stradlin does a fantastic job on the rythm guitar.
@user-gy2cb2rt4y
@user-gy2cb2rt4y Месяц назад
Axl hated his small town roots. He hated the people there, which is why he never went back. The song is a bizarre way of telling them off, like they are a bunch of clueless, preachy bumpkins. It's his story, but through their eyes, if that makes sense. They all thought he was losing his mind and being a degenerate by moving to LA, so it's like saying, hey look at me, look at you. Slash doesn't even get into it here, because to them, the song is what it is, if people don't get it, who fucking cares.
@mikebaird6788
@mikebaird6788 Год назад
There's no controversy with the song if you don't like it don't listen to it if you got offended by it it's too bad a lot of people are offended by different music but they don't go and wine around and gripe and try to cancel

@@giovannidejoie8618 It’s either a word we all choose not to use or it’s not. The black card is peak hypocrisy. If you want to disappear the word then no one can use it. If not then anyone can. And a bunch of rappers marketing it to kids is no better than Axl writing a song revealing prejudices he honestly felt. I doubt he still holds them

@@richlisola1 i never said i agree with black rappers using either…but the thing is there is racial history behind the word…..this whole argument of “if white people can’t use it than no one can” i really don’t get it…why ya’ll wanna use it so bad ? Like what’s so interesting about using that word that ya’ll feel offended when a white person gets backlash for using it….around black people it can be used as a term of endearment but when white people use it there’s a double meaning…it’s that simple i don’t condone the use of the word in public whoever says it but as the same time i don’t get the obsession that white people have with wanting to use it…ya’ll just can’t because of history point blank period just read a book & you would understand why….& as for the reason why black people use it is because it’s a term that was casually used in american culture until the civil rights movement which isn’t that long ago…it’s a word that’s been in american culture since the country was created & even before that…it’s a complex issue

He wanted the song to tell it like it was without it sugarcoating it. America, especially around that time, had a lot of racism, homophobia and anti immigration beliefs and by saying those words, while offensive to some, it gives the song more realism
