@@johnnyjonesno1they had Nov rain during the App album. And b4 . When ever Axl got around a piano he would work on it . Remember Axl had a piano when he was a kid in Indiana.
That's the line-up right there! The universe blessed us with those five misfits finding each other to make timeless music together. You're one in a million, baby...
If it wasn’t for the controversial lyrics I think this song would have been a huge classic that was played on the radio and everywhere else for decades
Well, don’t feel so bad cos we have at least 20 other classics from this band. I kinda like that this one is just for us… the people who were there and know it exists and had the album. On another note this video is incredible. What a time capsule. Wish we could see more from this session. It must exist.
@@adamstar7516 yeah, sometimes it's like that isn't it. A friend of mine loved that song and somehow didn't notice the lines that people find offensive. I didn't even bring it up, they'll be too addicted by the time they work it out. People have a harder and harder time accepting the idea that songs don't just transparently present the artists true thoughts. When things are made so taboo it's hard for a good artist to resist stepping over the line just cos it's there and you're right, there's a hundred other songs others can enjoy
2023 and this song is still so impactful. I think if this was performed today, you would not hear chuckles or laughs, but you’d also wouldn’t hear the crowd offended by the lyrics. I think it would be something to watch in awww.
Slash says at the end, "That's the second time that we've ever played that song in our life"... and it sounded that good. what a great piece of history to have on video. thanks for sharing this treasure with the world. Peace..
Holy Crap now this is a rare video. I can't beleive this is up here, nice work lol. This is these guys top of their game. This video is one in a million

This song brings bad feelings in it's words. Your comment just agree with them and shows what you have inside your soul. Rich or poor, we're all people trying to survive and be happy, no matter where...
They're still not the best live. Axl isn't very impressive these days. Slash is great, an amazing guitarist. Duff is also as he used to be. The rest of the original band isn't in the band no more. Steven Adler was such an amazing drummer! I love him, such a shame they fired him.
@JasperBiemans youtube guy 5/6 years ago I saw them live and they were all togheter obv, great concert that was crazy, I was thinking to see a group of old guys but was crazy fr, It was 5/6 years ago btw idc about the relation they have now with disney cartoons but that's cool. Sorry for bad english and have a nice day
Thanks to Mark Dice for reminding me of this song. Now, I’ve seen a live recording of it. I remember the days when this song got a lot of attention in 2018. I was in class with a joke of a substitute teacher, so it was one of those fuck all, do nothing, periods. I took off my jacket and my friend noticed I happened to be wearing a Guns N’ Roses shirt. He then asked me what my favorite song was and I said “it’s so easy”… or “patience.” He said… well, have you ever heard “one in a million”? I said I couldn’t recall… so I played it and we shared the earbuds. He was eager to see my reaction as the lyrics went on and I was a little shocked but I liked the song. During this, a girl in front of us asked what song we were listening to. I told her, and to go listen to the song. After about a minute went by, half the classroom turned into a real life Twitter debate. Some were arguing over what the best gnr song was, some were arguing over whether the song was racist, and some were disgusted that some have never even heard Guns N’ Roses!!! Axl had no idea that 30 years later, 34, now…people would still be talking about this song.
Always been my favorite gnr song, first time seeing this video, so intimate and raw! Always will be my favorite, gnr with izzy is what made them!! So glad I got to see them back in 92 as a whole minus Steven adler! Was my first concert and remains my favorite! They did acoustic set player lies, but in all honesty don't remember if one ina million made the cut, talking almost 30 yrs ago!! But I appreciate this video brings back old memories!
Cadê os Gunners do Brasil?????!!!! 🎉🎉 Falando daqui de Manaus!!! 💘🌹 E sempre vou comentar esse video enquanto eu sobrevivar nesse mundo maluco!! 1 setembro 2023 Completando 1 ano do melhor dia da minha vida!! Showzaço o Guns fez aqui em Manaus!!
@@thomasjdm7388 Unfortunately, I was born too late (1980) to see any performance of the original lineup. I wish I could travel back in time & watch every single performance of the original lineup.
This is my favorite GN'R song ever. I can listen to it 24/7 & never get bored. It REALLY sucks that they can't play it live and left it out of their Locked N' Loaded Box Set.
@@Olds_Pwr The people laughing were likely not in the minority groups these slurs are targeted at as you can obviously tell from the all white audience. It's easy to be passive about racism/homophobia when you aren't personally inconvenienced by the discrimination. "People were laughing" is a not a valid defense to use slurs. It was never okay, it was just socially acceptable because people were ignorant at the time.
If this ever gets censored then all of NWA, ghetto boys , biggies crack commandments and all the other good music in the world must be censored. Say no to censorship.
Axl Rose got accused for being a racist a homophobe and a hater for this song, but he wasn't any of those things he was just sharing bad experiences he had.
This concert is brilliant, I hope someone can enhance it one day. Glad to see the Gunner's do still have a heart, not usually them, but their record labels. I would have been about 16 or 17, when this was done. Started to listen to metal in my second year of secondary school 13 or 14, worked after school till from 10 to 15, used to listen to Pop back then. When I got to about 14 (According to Mum, my school mates used to hang out with me in town on a Friday night and party, one of their brothers was a little bit older, but had been listening for ages, so we used to go and sink a few beers and watch, what we had recorded onto VHS on the telly, still have those tapes) my best mate was into it and lean't me a few Cassettes. Had been working spent my teenage years torn between musical ambitions, education, and main interest ICT (Gaming back in those days). Might give it a go, should have the tools and hardware and A.I. does a good job. Did my first recording onto my old tape recorder whilst getting over a hangover and my mates got hold of it. Was called Granddad at the Ritz, that tape after that. It was terrible, with no Reverb or Echo. No wonder it takes so long to sing properly, then every now and then One in a Million like Axl turn up with a voice that was strong, able to do vibrato whilst sustaining notes and has the full range from F to F, some think he might ever have got higher. I did find a raw cut of them with no production year ago. It was also pretty rough, but it was from a concert. And they used to always sound terrible in the 90's until digital music/equipment took over. I wonder if they all have a copy, that they put on at parties from anyone still around?) In my top 5, probably 3, when I was younger and Lies and Appetite first landed. Was 20ish when Use your Illusion did, some of the songs on those two albums, resonated a lot with me then. Probably why I've managed to stick around, no matter how hard I tried. Lost a lot of friends to the lifestyle over the years. Ironically got sick, so had to give most things up, otherwise I would have been gone probably in a year or two and ended up so far away, working in a government job. No drinking or anything for 9 years. But kept on playing till I had to sell my gear and leave home for the first time (Small town's eh). Only 52, going by all my favourite bands still around, plenty of time, to make it. I managed to get on a CD Cover a few years ago, but it was a bit of a Gimic, by artist. But still super cool and he plays with Blaze Bayley in Europe. Amazing Classical Guitarist, does some GNR covers. The world loves rock and roll more than ever.. It is just that the corporate media got so huge and clueless then only promote garbage now.. So all the good and great new rockers are all DIY. But it is all still here
@@michaelcraig9449 Most of the millenials and later Zombie Generations don't know what true rock 'n' roll is. And they don't care either. They have their phones and pussy JustinBieber style music to orgasm with. But as the great Neil Young once wrote . . . Rock 'n' Roll can never die. Now waiting for a melting millenial snowflake or a phone zombie to write the usual genius reply 'OK boomer' to prove his mental disablility to the world.
because the music is haunting and amazing, but too bad Axl could not resist the urge to include racist, homophobic, xenophobic lyrics in order to manufacture gravitas and controversy. The sound would have still been great without the intentional shock value lyrics
@@peterkokoszka422 yea I agree, the story of a narrow minded racist homophobe despite the good music. I am not offended I know racists bigots and their enablers exist
I love this song Axl says it like it is not afraid to speak his mind. The world needs more songs like this. But unfortunately everyone is afraid to speak their mind.
I wish they would play it as well, but they caved into the political correctness. I was going to buy the box set until I found out this song was removed. So much for the most dangerous band right. Just sad.
A snapshot in time when some crass artists weren’t afraid to voice their inner thoughts even if it was offensive to everyone but the voices in their head. G&R paid a heavy price for this. My how we’ve grown. 2020....It’s all vanilla now. You can cut me and all I stand for down to the bone as long as there’s a catchy riff behind it.
You obviously can’t comprehend the written word. Let me simplify one aspect for you...Lyrics can offend but music is universal. Regardless of your opinion, Slash nailed this. Don’t be an Ignoramus.
@@vnvivid While I like the heavily distorted guitar juxtaposed against the acoustic a lot, and I think Slash's guitar playing here is super solid, I agree that there's something unquestionably insolent in the lyrics. This leaves me torn, and it's only rarely that I listen to this song. Maybe its similar for you, unvivid? I don't mean to fence with you at all here, I'd just be interested in knowing why you've visited this particular song, and the live version on top of it all. Maybe it's something just as simple as you wanting to listen to it first-hand after hearing how contumelious it was. Can you share your thoughts, please? Do you like the song on any level at all?
