This is Starlight (live), taken from the bonus DVD of the special edition of Slash's self-titled debut album, featuring Myles Kennedy on vocals and available on Roadrunner Records NOW
completely underrated, under-acknowledged singer - one of the best, most unique voices in music - he and slasher pair up well - they have made great music together.
Martín Andrés Poblete Lasserre They most definitely are... he is up there with the very best when it comes to backing vocals! Plays a pretty mean bass too...
most excellent job and tune...Kennedy is by far the best rock vocalist out there today and Kerns' backups are top end...The band as a whole rocks and it's good to see in this day and age of lackluster new rock...
I read guys commenting on how Slash made the wrong choice of tone for the intro, this is his music he can do whatever he wants with it. Now, go make your own song if you guys know any better, and let see if people even wanna listen to it.
Starlight Slash In the distance light years from tomorrow Far beyond yesterday She is watching, heart aching with sorrow She is broken is broken, as she waits Hoping when all is said and done we can learn to love and be as one Oh Starlight, don't you cry we gonna make it right before tomorrow Oh Starlight, don't you cry we're gonna find a place where we belong (where we belong) And so you know, we'll never shine alone There are shadows sleeping on the horizon Leave us scared and so afraid As the fall out of a world divided It brings her tears and so much pain And so we take cover from the dark Hoping to find where we can start Oh Starlight, don't you cry we gonna make it right before tomorrow Oh Starlight, don't you cry we're gonna find a place where we belong (where we belong) And so you know, you'll never shine alone Starlight we'll find a place where we belong You will see as the mountains fall and turn to dust There's one thing that can't change I believe there's something within each over us that always says That will always remain as long as love never pains Oh Starlight, don't you cry we gonna make it right before tomorrow Oh Starlight, don't you cry we're gonna find a place where we belong (where we belong) And so you know, you'll never shine alone Starlight we'll find a place where we belong (we belong) She is watching, heart aching with sorrow She is broken is broken, as she waits
this is one of the best songs that i have heard in years i think everything slash and myles you guys need to make this permanent and give all this new crap music a run for its money love the whole album and the intro is not shit its original you havent heard that before in music obviously its beautiful
I know, right? If I have anything negative to say about Myles Fuckin' Kennedy, it's "when singin' with Slash, he needs to find something else to do with his hands. In fact, anytime he is singing without a guitar in his hands, Be it a duet with Disturbed or a whole set with Slash. Looks like he is over-dramatizing almost like an opera singer without a guitar. It seriously makes me cringe when I see him do this"
He came from Alter Bridge. Alter Bridge is freakin' INCREDIBLE! How could they not be with Myles singing, and Mark Tremonti on lead guitar. And Myles can REALLY play a great guitar too!
