In my honest opinion, kind of lame to put all of that single set into the fact 'zakk's sound was higher'... Come on, at that moment in time he was the better player, period. The live sets he played with Ozzy back in the days are nothing Slash has ever equaled to this day, also period :)
@@Toxley4200 the are only 24 frets on a guitar. There are only a finite number of notes to choose from. So yea, he's gonna play the same one from time to time.
Su terreno? Jajajaja.
The Zakk was the best Voodoo Child. The Slash was the best blues jam. Today, the guitarist Slash is a much more complete than in the past. The Zakk basically did the same thing they did with Voodoo Child, but this time Slash hit back, because it touches so furious fast as Zakk, and was more melodious and had the closest feeling of the blues.

Two of the greatest hard rock/metal guitarists on the planet today shredding together. I wonder how long it's been since they've played together? I hope everyone has seen their Voodoo Chile cover from years back...Legendary!
You're totally right. Zakk has been a 'speeder' lately.. probably the only one doin it with Gibson.. But it just seems to be his thing at the moment. You can't say he ain't got the feelin' cuz he's had it all the way. It's just what he's enjoying right now.. And Slash.. he's always been Slash, that's that... And both guys are just to be admired and looked up to, no matter who or whose style you like better.. Respect!
Anyone that says Zakk can't play Blues needs to do some searchimg. With that being said you can't compare the two because they have different styles they attack the guitar in completely different ways. And never forget Zakk almost became apart of guns in the early 90s
Today, Slash owns Zakk Wylde in every aspect: technique, melody, taste, dynamics, tone. He has improved a lot (they say he took lessons from Steve Lukater, lately) and now he's become a sort of Eric Clapton meets Yngwie Malmsteen. Zakk Wylde is basically the same Van Halen kind of guitarist since 1994. Anyway, I like both of them!
Solid proof that Slash can whip Viking boy's ass anytime on any stage. He plays in the moment with authority and poor old Zakk always plays like a 13 year old begging anyone to 'look at me'!
Slash just nails the blues. Zakk not so much. I wish he would slow down and really feel the individual notes the way Slash does. I can't make out what the hell he's playing. Having said this, Zakk is of a different school.
The glorious thing about these great guitarists we have is that they all have a unique twist to their work. It would be worse if they all played “correctly”.
Que lujo man!
No question Slash has improved as a guitarist. When Zakk and Slash jammed Voodoo child x amount of years ago Zakk made him look like an embarasment. In this clip they are very comparable guitarists. Glad to see Slash is still doing his homework and improving year by year.
Slash actually had tastier licks there too. I think zakk tone is weird now like he uses too much one a certain effect idk it's chorus or flanger but it's a bit much
I totally get when everyone's all like "slow down, stop shredding," when talking about Zakk's playing. But you gotta remember, that's just his style, (surely you knew what he was gonna do?) and I don't think he's gonna change anytime soon. Once a shredder, always a shredder.
both are brilliant guitarists but blues is about the feeling and emotion in each note as Slash shows in most of his work (this included). no disrespect to Zakk but Zakk is all widdly widdly!! 98% of the time, he needs to slow down a little and feel the blues :)

It's not really about technical ability it's what you can create with the ability you have and Slash is one of the most decorated and well known guitarists of all time, he isn't technically the best but he has a done a very nice job with what he has and he has improved so much since leaving guns and especially recently and Zakk is just a shred king
youtube people always gotta compare who's better than who. Obv slash and Zakk dont give a damn they just like playing and playing together is fun for guys at that level. You all that say "Zakk sucks"... lets see your skills up on youtube for people to judge. They have different styles and different influences in their playing. Zakk has always been metal based. Slash started out Blues based and evolved. 2 different styles. 2 great guitarists.
Man the amount of people who have never picked up a guitar shows in this comment section. This isnt guitar hero. It's not a "duel" it's a jam. Neither is better than the other. It's all about putting you flavor on it, and both men cant wait to hear what comes next from the other.
People acting shocked that Slash plays the blues so well are crazy. Of course he does. Then they act like Slash isn’t a complete technique monster. He is. He can play faster than he would ever need to. That said, there ain’t anything wrong with Zakk Wylde shredding on a blues. He wasn’t trying to outplay Slash. I would agree though his active humbuckers always sound out of place against players with Alnico passives. But that’s his sound. One last thing, Zakk and Slash need to get together more often.
Both have changed over the years, Slash has improved a lot. Altough in my opinion the best of Zakk was when he did The book of shadows with pride and glory, before BLS. Lately he has been to repetitive i dont know why. Back then he was way less metal and more bluesy or southern i think
Slash has a bit more of melodic feel to his playing, more for the blues. Zack just does not have a good feel for the blues in his playing . There is a video with him playing with Joe Bonamassa and Joe blows Zack away!!!
Well yeah but to be fair, Bonamassa can pretty much blow anyone of the stage on a good night. Yet Zakk has gotten better at the blues, and thus got invited on the Experience Hendrix tour a few times. He’s been doing more blues gigs and actually slows down and play more tastier but he still can’t help to overshred. Sucks how he kinda steps on slash’s solo, he did it a little early.
Slash is a legend.. BUT MR Phillips Zakk Wylde is EPIC guitarist and What legends made off.. Slash is world renowned Zakk is MASTER o the UNIVERSE.. JIMMY Hendrix.. Mega Star... 😂
Slash really did mop the floor with Zakk in terms of taste, phrasing note selection, etc... Zakk really let me down here. Just went to, "let me show everyone how fast I can play".
