Trust me people,"Hollywood" distortion plugin in VMR is something out of this world. I always use it on my masters and it just gives that crisp and nice low end tune I'm obsessed with. So underrated
@@4DMIIR lol when I got the notification for this I died laughing because of how stupid my question was XD I was really drunk when I was watching this video and forgot I had even asked - It does sound great, as well as the whole slate digital lineup
Bro, your videos are just from another dimesion, really another level. Very amazing and easy to understand explanation, great audio demonstrations, great everything. 👏👏👏👏👏
I used work at a music store, and we had a tv that would play promos or demos all day long. One of them was your Akai Fire one and since then i've always been a huge fan of your videos. The way you explain and describe everything is amazing. Every time i load up one of your vids i immediately like it because i know it's going to be amazing. Thank you for the content you put out! As ever this one was fantastic!
Just started the slate all access package last week & it’s making a huge difference on my drums. I appreciate your break down and watching how you signal chain everything is so helpful
I have been using it since early this year, and its incredibly helpful to get tones, compression, saturation, etc. I use it as my main processor, and it work fantastic on everything as you reviewed. Great insight of this amazing VMR And i genuinly will watch you in a two hours video of this plugin anytime. Your aproach its always objective, precise and helpful, to understand any tool and give it a better use. Thanks Michael !
Oh my god this compression, saturation & EQ is brilliant Thanks a lot for discovering such a treasure My bass has been saved I like your videos, please keep what you doing!❤
I've been using slate digital ever since you recommended them in 2018 or so and I absolutely love all these plugins. Sometimes I use only plugins from the all acces pass in a mix and they're perfect.
Your videos are so professional. Your voice is so down to earth. Your presentation is well thought. You're amazing. All these years you have been quenching people of their thirst regarding producing music. I hope you continue so in glory.
I just actively searched you, to check if I missed some videos. I think you wait for an FL Studio update now :D you covered everything up so far as I remember. A teacher that teached everything. What a sight.
Started to use the subscribtion with slate in 2020. But today it has a lot more value then two years ago. It just gets better and better. Its a great company.
Many of the same physical 500 series and rackmount modules you are showing, I have in my studio, in hardware form. For anyone watching this, believe me, after spending $100k+ on the real studio gear, listening to these plugins and what they're doing while he is tweaking virtual knobs, they're good! VERY good. Aside from the physical offboard hardware, I've also got the biggest Waves package, in my studio, etc, so also have a point of comparison from another vendor. Both Waves and Slate are excellent packages, really comes down to what model fits the artist or producer the best. Slate subscription model is probably much easier for most people. That slate rack system you're showing is ABSOLUTELY better than waves, BTW. That makes building out your 500 series virtual chain SO much easier than picking out one of 500 things on your effects pop up and stacking them in your DAW. That part is super slick. Thanks for the Video Michael, great work, keep it up. I enjoyed this!
VMR is also my defacto goto. A few years ago I did a mix with all my other random plugins then mixed the same trax with VMR only,,,, the sonics on the VMR mixes were far superior, and after that experience, VMR is now my start point every mix. And , you are right about verbsuite classics,,,for the 70s rock/hard rock genre I normally work in, verbsuite ams nonlin and 480 thin plate are essentials. I've owned both an actual AMS RMX16 and a 480L and the verbsuite absolutely nails it. 🤘👍
Great video, as always!! The Slate VMR Bundle is quite a bag of tricks! I've had the All Access Pass for at least a couple years now, and my only complaint is that it isn't wired for external sidechain input. All VSTs should have it at this point; it's 2022. Seems like an easy thing to add in. My All Access Pass is up for yearly renewal soon, and I'd like to know that I can reach for this for my external sidechain needs, instead of other VSTs that have that feature.
I think this one is the best deals of all the services that I have tried, Slate plugins are really good and you also have most of Kiloheartz plugins (Missing PhasePlant) and ANA2 which is a hell of a good synth, also you get access to Slate Academy which is really good.
Like many I've read here, I've been with Slate All Access since late last year. The Murda Melody plug-in is fire. Very easy to dial in what your looking for. So much available for mixing AND mastering.
Hey man, your videos are great and very helpful. I was wondering If you have made another template? It was a long time ago i found "In The mix template" and it was really nice too have. Keep up The good work!
Great video as always! 👍 I've been a longtime user of Slate Digital's plugins, and while I love their tools, I've run into a bit of a snag lately. Thought I'd share my experience here. So, my trusty iLok dongle, after years of solid use, decided to retire on me. 😅 Now, here's the kicker - Slate Digital seems to be the only one in the game still sticking to the physical dongle requirement. All my other favorite brands like UAD, Softube, SSL, they've all hopped onto the 'iLok cloud' train, making life so much simpler. Having to dish out $100 for a new dongle just for Slate Digital feels a bit off, especially when all my other plugins are dongle-free. 🤔 And let's talk perpetual licenses. It's been ages since Slate ran a sale on them, nearly a decade! I remember going all-in on perpetual licenses before the 'All Access Pass' era, and now it feels like we've been left in the dust. Don't get me wrong, I get that things evolve, and subscriptions are the new thing, but it's tough not to feel a bit left out in the cold.
CS-Lift is so underrated in VMR! I love using it on individual tracks, then using Revival on busses, and Air/Earth on the master. Those types of plugins are so useful, I’m surprised they aren’t copied by other plugin makers.
CS-Lift is a plugin where I’m continually shocked by it’s ability to get the tone I want. Sure, I could try to do the same thing with several EQs but I can’t deny how quickly it works to get the same sound!
This is awesome and it really works the way you describe about all plugins. Would you mind to make proper video of mixing and mastering song using VMR? SO that we can get it in proper way Specially in Vocal process. Kindly make a video on it sir.. if you have done already then please give the link below for it.😊😊
Great video! I agree on the scaling feature, it would be a nice addition. The only problem I have with the Slate VMR is midi mapping. I'd love to midi map all parameters but there is a problem with either the Slate VMR or FL Studio where the midi commands keeps overwriting themselves if I add more modules, even if I split them into individual plugins on the same channel, the midi commands overwrites as I add them and I end up with eight pots turning random knobs on random modules after mapping them all. Has anyone found a solution for that?
Hey man. Really love your work. Could you make a video or put jt down if you already have on all the instrument vsts one requires.. i just have the sonic 5 in cubase AI.
Great video as usual! Maybe you forgot to mention the iLok requirements. The All Access Pass can be used with iLok Cloud, which is great. But on the other side, Perpetual "Buy Now" individual plugin licenses require an iLok 2 or iLok 3 USB dongle. Which may incur additional costs.
Been using all access pass for a few months now, and the only thing that really bugs me is not having automatic gain compensation. Whenever I load up a preset, there is always a huge volume boost and it’s hard to really compare how stuff is affecting the audio without gain matching
Very impressive! If I didn’t already own UA Apollo Twin and about 15 of the same plugins, I consider it. I like the multi-unit 500 series look/feel and ease of use. Just wondering how this compares to IK Multimedia MixBox?
Hey, I Make One Mix And After Some Time When I Opened My Project again, The All effects Are Missing from The Each and Every Mixer Track, What Should I Do! plz Help Bro😑
A few years ago I bought the slate Rack with a limited amount of processors, I was wondering if went the subscription route, do slate do any kind of discount being as I own some of processors already?
A low-key underrated feature for Slate plugins is they are also Zero Latency (excluding the time-based FX plugins). The Slate Digital Access Pass is definitely the best value subscription in the industry atm.
I see that the math on the bundle monthly vs yearly is the same. Its $150 either way. That catch is after 6 months, it bumps to $15 a month, hence the 150. My question is about the demo version for 30 days. Are they full version or is there anything missing from the demo version? Some platforms tease out their product with enough meat on it, then realize that you have only 60% of it able to be engaged. Is this the case with SD? Last, with recording, isnt it best to obtain the optimal sounds with the room, the mic and the performance? Not that those cant be enhanced with this candy store of tools we all go out and seek, -but how much can be learned from simple old school micing and room characteristics. thank so much Michael. You are a good teacher to say the least.
Finally, a great review of this plugin. I used the free trial already and I've made up my mind to save up to that All-access. Someday I'll own it, I BELIEVE. Awesome video again, Michael Edit: Notification Gang assemble!
Thanks Pratit. It's the free trial which really makes it work for me. It's important to test it out before buying (I wish more plugins were like that!).
