@@TankTheTechHe did a podcast with Nik where he talks about the song. His impression was sort of what everyone else’s was. 1. It’s going to blow the roof off of places live 2. The word live and live are the same but mean two different things depending on context 3. They made the song to fuel the train they’ve got moving 4. They are working on shit I’m fucking excited. They got me back into the scene because it got too generic and, dare I say “pop” like in that there was a model that everyone was following. Slaughter seems to be going their own way. That led me back to Falling in Reverse who I’d dropped after the sad boy days got old. Ronnie is probably the most underrated musician of a big genre(s) right now and that shit kills me.
I got to be part of the conflict video. It was such a good day, they were all friendly and made sure they got pictures with everyone individually. It was just like a live show all day. About 20 takes 😂
I'm sooooo excited to see them at Download this year. I was depressed as hell when I missed the January London concert, but I was just back from going to the Samurai Pizza Cats tour and had no money 😅😅
I'm the same bro, so can't wait. Feel like we've been spoiled with deathcore bands this year at download. Slaughter to prevail, they art is murder, shadow of intent, brand of sacrifice plus metal bands crystal lake, fit for a king, dying fetus, erra, make them suffer. Such a stacked under card
I love the riffs and the way Alex almost licks out his vocals at times, but I cant get over the line in Russian that sounds like “I FARTED! GRRRRRRRRR!” 😂
That line up is definitely worth going to see considering I'm physically disabled and it would be an adventure lol I saw FFDP way back in like 08-09 with my then 10 yr old daughter I was also a Manson fan and saw him live and he puts on a seriously good show so it'll be interesting to see if he still has it I think STP will be the winners on this particular tour package I think with the added riffage and weird guitar sounds it fills up the space better than a sample or pad When I first heard 1984 I knew they were branching off and crystallizing their overall sound ✌️🧐🤘
Bro just finished watching your day 5 ELECTRIC CALL OUT BOY tour vlog. And man I must say u sure have a dope life, a man above men,,, big kudos for you and the great person you are,,, really opened my eyes to you as a person, much love brother,,,
It's so cool and interesting to see the hype around this band grow outside of just the deathcore scene and see them gain traction with a wider audience. This video was actually trending in the low 20s for the first day or two after it dropped. I agree that they have come a long way in the last few years.
@@rebekahcarter8120 I was walking in the parking lot when they played Bonebreaker. I was so pissed! But the Harrisburg and Pittsburgh shows were excellent. Love seeing them play indoors!
I just wrote the same thing on Ohrion Reacts, but I think this was written as the perfect, ideal song to play live, maybe to open a gig. It's fast, direct, melts your face quickly, get people pumped up and sets the tone for the rest of the performance. Love it, also perfect for workout
We are in a great place where heavy metal haters and people who never listened or heard of metal music and thanks to reaction channels and others giving it a chance that they would other would never do and it is very amazing to see
I kinda feel like they are doing what slipknot did back in the day. Slipknot came out with their own style and didn't care if anyone liked it. I seriously doubt Alex is far off from his ceiling in vocals and the rest of the band seems like they are all on the same page.
Riffs are why I'm loving music from (especially) Disembodied Tyrant and (to a lesser extent) Synestia. I especially like that the former is occupying a sort of "prog" section of deathcore, and we're getting repeated riffs rather than repeated verses and choruses. I hope these bands someday get the attention that Slaughter to Prevail has, and I'm really looking forward to what all of these bands will do in the future.
just getting this in early, but when Tank mentioned about them not focusing on breakdown's and more on riffs I can see what he means if you go back and listen to the likes of Demolisher and Baba Yaga, the breakdowns in both of those songs are heavy and what you hear a lot of the time so to hear them focusing on the riffs more is quite pleasant to see and hear!
A lot of bands have members using different things, look at Slipknot who you’ve reacted to before, you’ve got Jim who’s got sigs with both charvel and fender at the same time, mick who’s now with ESP and vman using status graphite on bass, does happen a lot still throughout metal
07:15 Totally agree, I love the other tones that Alex is learning to use with his voice. The dude is really getting dynamic, but yet staying true to Death Metal!!!!
That's awesome you live in TN I'm on the otherside of the mountains in NC I hope you and electric callboy have a show in either Charlotte or Raleigh if so I'm there for it!!!
9:23 I belive that on the Nik nocturnal podcast interview, Alex had said that they didn't apply any vocal effects, when he have growel that low, that takes dedication for Alex to experiment with his vocals.
Don't know if you still read the comments on this video, but Jack has recently announced that he is now using and working with ESP! There are posts about it on his Instagram, he will release his own signature and everything
I love a lot of bands in the metal scene right now but I just cant get into slaughter to prevail. They have some cool moments and they are talented but just ain't my thing respectfully
I agree. Singer is ...just not feeling him. Music seems all over the place...and the breakdowns are wayyy overdone and so played out. This new song sounds like so many others. Maybe I'm not into this because I've never got into deathcore.
I just wish the song was longer. It leaves me wanting more. As far as their crowds go, I saw STP last year, when I was 52. There was a kinda attractive woman standing near me, enjoying the show… and her boyfriend, a guy in a baseball cap, watching her and completely ignoring STP. It’s likely he was just there to make sure no one stole his girl.
As much as I love STP I was slightly frustrated with them after seeing them in London in Feb. Everyone expected supports this was not the case. Doors were 7pm stood there till 9pm in the venue where the opening 10mins was the Blade Blood rave song. I've never seen so many people standing around confused about what is actually going on. Combined with that I know people involved in the videography of this video and STP wanted it to look like the sleep token Alkaline video aesthetically. (The videographer of this did the sleep token video) and when they didn't believe it looked like that continued to respond with send us the footage and we will send it to someone else. Which having been a photographer for years personally is just kind of offensive to the people involved and left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth.,
Hey Tank! Recently saw a meme about “I hate when bands say they love you and love playing here like lol you’re in Tinley Park singing to people on a hill.” Any insight on what cities/venues bands actually like playing?
I've seen plenty of bands use different brands of year like Motionless in white for example their guitarist Ricky has used Ibanez exclusively for years not sure what basses he used when he was the bass player for a short time and the other guitarist Ryan started on Schecter then ESP guitars for about a decade now. Also Slipknot guys are used different brands or even Trivium.
Tank you need to react to psycho frame, they are the best new OG deathcore band out rn, you need to check them out, they are super riffy and heavy, lots of interesting stuff in their music
After the nonsense at the Chicago show a year or so back they should be offering ticket holders a discount. They were an hour late, no openers, played 40 min and the house loghts came up. They were there to sell merch and it ahould. 50 freaking bucks
Привет! Я не так посвящен в этот жанр музыки как ты, но их синглы ваще рвут душу!! И согласен, викинг просто шедевр, и я видел твою реакцию, у меня она очень схожа))
I don't get why they are "top of the game". Berlin show was crap. Shit sound, one band on the bill with 40-50 minutes of runtime and lame ass lighting. For 38€ it is bloody RIPOFF.
