@@ryankings6755 "I was born & raises" on Republique I know how to snipe , I had my share of 26km cruiser hot ass chick slap & clap , I could keep them away whole 20 min... but then I have grown up , I mature as a player and I prefer more agresive game play = better dmg and Slava is one trick ship , you would know that is you was any good at the game darling...

I actually just recently got Slava with the 2x RP reset, my second RB ship, and man Ive been really enjoying it. Being able to consistently punish broadsides feels so good, having a ship that really rewards good positioning and good aim is hard not to love. Edit: last night I 2 clicked dev struck an Ohio after he refused to angle to me after getting smashed once, then turns more broadside for a 4 cit dev strike.

Slava's OP. The armour's "fine", it's not like battlecruiser armour when you get crushed through the nose; thanks to its hidden bow plate plus its semi-icebreaker. The guns have the insane pen that gives you cits all the time; but the combination of accuracy and amazing shell characteristics means you don't get those annoying overpens as much as you do with some of the other high velocity battleship guns. Slava rewards things that Ohio just plain whiffs. Need Elbing video next.

Having played both for a long time, Ohio is the better ship in 90% scenario's. If I get a broadside cruiser within 15, 16kms you will plain tear it apart. Maybe you'll only get 1 or 2 citadels with Ohio but who cares, the Alpha is high enough to explode it anway. Slava is straight up dogshit for anyone who know's how to angle. It is horrible in ranked play aswell as clan wars. Slava can't push and has a long CD on heal compared to an Ohio. 9 Shells mean you are not a very reliable HE spammer aswell. Montana can do a lot of things Slava can do yet is twice as tanky (altough Slava's gun are superior no doubt). Play Slava in randoms and farm some t9 cruisers that are clueless, that is her best spot.

@@l.a.w.5738 So Ohio is good in two game modes I have never and will never play, you say? That sure makes up for all the times it totally fails to hit sitting ducks obliviously sitting full broadside at 10km... I've given up on taking Ohio out because I'd much rather just use my Montana and actually have some shells hit what I'm shooting at. As for pushing in an Ohio - have you played the game recently? Invitation to get farmed by a submarine sitting safely 8km away pinging you like mad because you literally can't do anything to him. Slava gives me citadels all day and night for big damage consistently; Ohio gives me wet shells, inexplicable ricochets against broadsides, hardly any cits, and way too many overpens for such slow clunky shells.

@@l.a.w.5738 nah slava shits on every ship time in the game. It has no problem citadeling Montana and 24km or anything other bb except the Germans. And you can do huge damage into superstructure cause of that insane accuracy

@@Ace42x I didn't say that, Ohio is also better in randoms. Not every game and map is a 10 min sniper slugfest. If you cannot hit a stuck target at 10km broadside, the issue is on you and not the Ohio. I mean don't get me wrong, Slava is an insanely powerful ship and in my top 5 ships for sure, but overall it cannot compete with Ohio. It is mostly guns (like a Yamato, Shikishima, etc.) and lacks in other departments.

Flamu doesn't refer to 100,000 damage in the first 5 minutes as "The Slava Challenge" for nothing i.e. this ship does it frequently, and easily. The pen is absurd, the accuracy too, and the armour isn't much of an issue (like most Soviet ships, the armour is more effective in the game than the description suggests). In randoms it's borderline OP, frankly. Had you not done a rather, shall we say, "questionable" YOLO at a Schlieffen (of all things) that seemed wholly unnecessary and instead left it to try to deal with you at any sort of range outside of 'brain-dead secondary', you'd have taken SFA damage. Plus racked up near 250k with ease regardless.

The good, even decent players in the Slava can do very well. I am always quite vary about it on the opponent team. However! They are often seen in "wrong" positions and it will be wrecked fast.

I mean, safest way to sail cruisers these days is full broadside for some reason. Been contemplating getting Slava for randoms, but Illinois sounds kinda fun too.

Slava is only really good in random battles. Where it’s more chaotic and easier to get peoples broadside at range. I think a lot of people over rate it because of that, but once you’re fighting a bow on BB at mid/close range it feels absolutely useless.

Any more useless than a GK at long range, or Schlieffen for that matter? How about Kremlin at range? It's hardly a surprise that ships have weaknesses; the stupid thing about Slava is its strengths are so easily used and rather excessively effective, especially in a passive, distant pot-shot meta.

I always felt like Slava is really good when the other team is bad and not mindful of their broadsides, but Ohio is really good in almost all situations. Just the ability to overmatch 30mm in an Ohio makes angling less effective for the red team, you just click and smash them anyways no matter what direction they're pointed in.

Ohio is a beast but Slava is my favorite because of the huge chunks of damage you can take off anything that shows broadside.

your mistake when you aim at that schlieffen is you aim perfectly at waterline. what you should've done is aim a bit above the waterline. in 9:42 for example, you get 1 citadel, see that 1 shell actually landed a bit above the waterline and cause citadel. that is where you should aim, a bit above waterline.

Bought Slava, having a blats with this ship, in so many games with long range duels, this ship is an absolute beast, you don't have to lose much HP Or risk aggressive postioning to farm 150 ~ 200k damage easy

With all the other options that can fit this role, why spend the RP on it? Yama, Shiki, hell even a Vermont can smack from range. RP is costly in comparison to tech tree.

Yeah but those ships don't have high velocity shells making your target more likely to juke your salvo. Slava isn't for everyone, it's a niche ship that is the best at one thing. Sniping broadsides. The consistency it has doing so makes Slava enjoyable.

I don't have this ship, I was considering to get it, but it seems not have much big value for me, I am not playing random battles much, usually sticking to get ranked rewards and brawls aswell, even special modes like Airships or convoys are fun too. I got Ohio from RB, but having steel Shiki and Bourgogne and GK being moved into special ships, I feel no need get another prem BB.

WOWS in 2023 really doesnt reward shooting broadsides. Mostly against cruisers but also against BBs. Sometimes its better when the enemy is angled since he may arm the shells that way and not just cause them to overpen.

Slava is good, but VERY situational compared to Ohio. The latter you can build for pure brawl, hybrid or main guns. Ohio is arguably the best BB in the game and would always be my first recommendation for BB players. For me Vampire came next, then Slava, the Druid. Probably the new KMS DD next.

I hate having Slavas in the game. Not that i think its OP, but actually a bit weak. My problem with this ships is, that I'm always minding my own business when suddenly a slava salvo from the other side of the map lasers half of my HP away. Having to worry about every BB in the match these days because most of them can shoot across the map can be annoying.

Yamato has been doing that since this game came out. You've just got to learn to pay attention to BBs like them. Incoming fire alert and priority target help too.

It's just about looking at the minimap and recognizing where the long range BBs are. With Yamato it has slow shells which makes it easier to dodge, the same goes for Vermont, Montana, and Ohio. The only ships with high velocity shells that can snipe are Slava and Republique.

It's not as bad as it seems - there's an invisible plate behind the nose that makes it pretty much impossible to cit bow-on; and there's 100mm partial icebreaker strips down the bow that can mitigate a fair bit of damage. Yeah the extremities are HE farmable, but saturation is still a mechanic, you're still a battleship, you still have heals - and you nuke the vast majority of cruisers in the game who might try.

i noticed you always aim in the water. even in other vids. many broadsides you didnt citadel. should be waterline exact or a tiny higher to guarantee a decent damage out of it like doing on a kurfurst.

I don't know about you but I don't think you are playing this ship correctly every time you make a video you keep trying to push up in it instead of searching for ways to get a position that provides crossfires and broadsides I think this is the main reason you are not enjoying the ship that much but personally speaking I play the Slava more than the Ohio for that relaxing game play of not having to worry about a thing when played right most of the time
