My mom played this song . I remember every album she had purchased from the King James record store in West Philadelphia on 52nd and Girard Ave . I was a little girl by in the 70’s . I think the music then was more enjoyable.
RIP Mr Mark your marksmanship on that bass has never been matched as for Drac damage has been made and you 2 dudes left us too soon ,yall are forever on my Playlist
I was very very lucky to join this incredible band at the age of 20! The bass player Mark Adams showed up at my Mom and Dad's house in 1982 and I joined as lead singer that same year! What an incredible experience.....I miss these guys and they deserved Grammy awards before I even met them! Historical group right here!
Yes Thank you very much I am singing every song lead vocals on the new plateau album. I joined on Bad Enuff album and sang with The Great Danny Webster on "Steppen Out" and "In and Out". also I co wrote songs on both albums.@@morggee
Man the bass lead and carried this Jam the whole song, I was only 4 years old when this came out in 77, but I can remember I Uncle playing this jam in his car on eight track man, cruising
My baby brother (who was 16 at the time ) actually turned me on to these guys. Our mother wouldn't let him play his records; so he'd bring them over to my house to play them. To reward him for introducing me to these bad ass FUNKMEISTERS....I kept this album. 😉
Man Mark “Han Solo” Adams used to make that bass growl!!!!! RIP Legend. Grateful I was able to meet you before you transitioned. One of my bass heroes for sure!
Back in my day when you wanted an extended version you mixed the single with the album versions & when the brought out the 12” the world & dance floor were your oyster
As Funky as that Bass guitar is and it's as funky as it gets. Don't sleep on "Drac" aka Mark Hicks lead guitar playing. It's as nasty as Prince on Purple Rain or as heavy as any heavy metal lead player anywhere.
God put oil in the middle east , football in brazil cricket in the carribean , boxing in America and funk in ohio featuring Slave . Mark Adams Danny webster and steve Arrington funk royalty.
First time listening to this long version of this classic track..I used to have their Best Of CD “Stellar Funk” in ‘94 ..I jammed to that CD a lot when I used to cruise in my Lowrider 🔊 👍🏼
Straight up hardcore metal funk and metal created by Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Miles and Billy Cox, Slave is the children of The Metal Funk movement, Prince later on continued it till his murder
