First of, "viking" is a profession, not an ethnicity. Slavs were vikings too. Western Slavs like Pomeranians, Rans (Rugians) and Obotrites were particularly famous for their vikings. I old-slavic dialects there are names for this kind of people like "witez" for example. Slavic vikings are also mentioned quite often in Sagas.

It's a total lie! Baltic Slavs (Polabian and Pomeranian) settled North Russia in 7-8 century long before vikings started their raids. There are a lot of archeological finds confirming that fact. Baltic Slavs had many great and famous cities on the south coast that time such as Stargrad (Oldenburg), Arkona, Volin, Kolobrzeg, Lubize (Lubek) etc. Throughout the centuries they moved to the north of Russia.
